 + -1 moreI ended up having to get another roofer to do the job since Blackie was paid $2300 at the end of May and had not started the job by the start of July. He only did some terribly ineffective patch work. He ignored the magistrate and the Allegheny County award to me. Then he called my cell phone and left a profanity, later called back to say he would bring the check --but he lied again. Even though there isn't much chance it will happen, I would love to see him jailed for his behaviors. I don't think he wants to give back the judgement awarded to me either so, what does that make him?
Description of Work: I hired him to replace a roof. He did minor ineffective repairs which left the roof still leaking.

 + -1 moreWater leaking between the house and an enclosed porch addition was the problem. On inspection he assured me that he could repair it. He also advised that I replace the porch roof with a membrane type because of the low pitch of the roof, informing me that regular shingles were not advised for that roof type. I agreed to replace it. He and his workers showed up as scheduled and completed the work. They were businesslike and cleaned up everything very well. I paid cash for the job and assumed there would not be any more problems. Unfortunately that was not the case. After the work was completed I noticed slight leaking again and as the rains continued the problem became more noticeable I have scheduled another contractor to clean up the unfinished work.
Description of Work: I am still awaiting a return call about unsatisfactory roof work. He has been difficult to contact. My initial call to him was Nov. 24. The phone just rang forever and apparently does not have an answering machine. I dropped off a note at his home around Dec. 3 and he did call that same day and said he would have to schedule a time to take a look at the problem when somebody could be there. Still waiting. I sent a reminder to his home address last week and have not gotten a reply. Today is December 17, 2012. Still no response. It's January 24 and still no reply. I have no problem with the unsatisfactory work. Nobody's perfect -all he had to do was fix the problem and I would not be making this negative report. His lack of communication is inexcusable. Nobody deserves this lack of service.
