+ -1 moreOur experience with Roy Creamer from The Appliance Whisperer is similar to others. Roy Creamer went to my elderly parents' house to repair their dryer. Roy Creamer removed what he thought was the malfunctioning component. He charged my parents for the visit and required payment upfront for the replacement part. Roy Creamer cashed check and told my parents that the part was out of stock. It has been 7 weeks since his visit and he has not returned my parents repeated phone calls requesting status. We do not recommend his business nor his services.
Description of Work: Parents dryer stopped working.

Description of Work: Roy Creamer Jr. said he could fix my dryer. It took him a week to come to my house. He estimated $245.00 and needed $200.00 to get parts. I gave him the $200.00 he said he needed for parts, Saturday July 6,2013. He said he would be back Monday or Tuesday to fix the dryer. He then started with excuses for not coming back to fix my dryer. Now he will not respond to me by phone or text. He has $200.00 cash and I have a receipt for that with a balance due of $45. Today is July 29,2013. What recourse do I have ?

+ -1 more. Overall the experience with Mr. Creamer was not a good one. He clearly had little or no experience or training on the refrigeration unit he encountered. He acted in an unprofessional manner, set his own schedule, arrived at his convenience and charged an excessive amount for his labor. The amount he charged was found to be excessive and inappropriately obtained. A court judgement has been issued to remand back a significant portion of the bill that was paid .
Description of Work: A refrigeration unit for the purpose of cooling a wine cellar malfunctioned at my home. Roy Creamer trading under the business name Appliance Whisperer was contacted to assess and provide an estimate to repair the unit. Upon arrival, Mr. Creamer determined that the condenser fan had failed and provided an estimate and a request for a deposit for repair, which was remitted that day . The fan was replaced a day later with an incorrect fan motor which when activated caused the main control on the unit to fail. Three days later he returned and arrived two hours ahead of the scheduled time to finished the work. I was not home at the time and he presented a new bill which was three times the original estimate.

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience was good. It's hard to find a company that will fix wall air conditioners. He provided me an estimate before he came out, and I ended up paying what he quoted. He did a good job.
