I took my mower to the store and was immediately asked what the problem was. Within minutes, the man who does repairs was attending to the problem. As he worked, he reviewed with me what he was doing, how he was going to fix it, and asked questions pertinent to what he was doing. In all, I was at the shop about 45 minutes. I took the mower home and finished mowing my lawn this afternoon. My mower works beautifully. What a rarity . . . to find such excellent, hands-on workmanship along with an explanation of the problem and how it was fixed!!!

Now that's customer service. My lawn mower is running better than it ever has. It runs better than when it was new. Truly. Quality work and great communication!

Weist Hardware is close to me. I have a small business serving the east and west shores of HBG and beyond and always need a little something in the way of materials. I appreciate the big box stores for what they offer and materials suppliers specializing in my line of work but it's nice to have someone close where I can walk in, grab what I need, pay, and be out the door in a few minutes. With a smile and helpful attitude on top of the convenience. About a year ago I made a special request for a specific material that I go through quite a bit of. They immediately looked it up, told me what they'd charge for it, and promised to order some. They now keep it in supply and it costs me a little LESS than the what the big stores get. Plus it saves me a lot of time. But most importantly, there's always a pleasant face to see what one might need or to just say "hi". I really am glad to have Weist Hardware as an ally and a resource. They are excellent at what they do. If you can't find what you need just ask. You may be pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

I hestitated to take my mower in for repairs because most shops said they were swamped this time of year and would need 3 to 4 weeks to complete the work. Some told me up front that the minimum fee which covered diagnostics only was $75.00 So I changed the spark plug and air filter, disassembled the carburetor and cleaned it. When it still didn't work I checked Angie's list and called Weist Hardware. They promised to complete the work in one week. The work was completed in 2.5 business days and the total bill was less than $30.00. When he called to tell me the mower was ready, George told me that a pin in the carburetor needed to be replaced. He seemed very professional to me, although he leaves at 3:30 p.m. and I never saw him in person. Afterwards my next door neighbor told me that when his snow blower wouldn't start last winter he took it to Weist. The work was completed much quicker and at less cost than the shop he used prior to that. Turns out he had taken his lawnmover to Weist the morning after I did and picked it up the same day I did. Neither of us will ever go anywhere else. I will do an oil change, and replace the spark plug and air filter, but from here on out I will never waste time trying to fix any of my equipment myself.

A neighborhood gem.

Everyone out front was exceptionally nice, good location, ect. If you have something to be repaired, I think its the place to go. Just be aware that the guy that does the actual repairs is long on work and short on conversation.

Quick service at a reasonable price,

The saw would barely start and when running would run only about at half power. After the service which was completed in only a few days despite being a very busy time for lawnmowers, the saw started smoothly and ran like it was new. The sharpened chain cuts like a warm knife through butter. Very happy, the saw is like new again.

The staff is always curteous and helpful. Unlike many home improvement giants, these guys know what they sell and are eager to help and educate. I have gone here for over 15 years and have always left satisfied. It will be a sad day when this small "mom & pop" store gets eaten up by a Lowes or Home Depot.

They are very helpful and very reasonable. They are excellent. It is a smaller store, but very accommodating. They offer delivery and pick up if needed.
