Description of Work: Smith Exteriors did a good job however, their pricing was too high based on the work performed. The scope of the job was as follows; add a 4X4 foot step, close in the outside fireplace with stone (approximately 12 square feet).The stone was provided by myself. Finally, attached a wood mantle, that I provided, to the existing fireplace in the basement. The total cost was $5,460 for these three items. I should have obtained a second estimate however, I wanted the work to be completed ASAP. Smith Exteriors did provide service on a timely bases.

Description of Work: Smith Exteriors repointed our chimney and repaired/replaced the cap on our chimney. They also caulked and repointed our front brick facade, putting insulation behind the facade. It looks better than new.

Description of Work: Cleaned and repaired chimney (there was a hole in the side, where a squirrel had gotten in), and came back later to completely seal the chimney off from any other animals. (I had had many pest invasions as a result of dead animals in the chimney.) As I have a ventless natural gas fireplace, sealing the chimney off was not a problem. They did an excellent job.

Description of Work: Brian was great to work with. After he inspected our chimney, he followed up with a phone call to let me know what he found, what would be involved and the approximate cost. He then sent a very professional, written estimate. The other company that I asked to get an estimate from, left a written estimate and explanation (which I could not read) and never followed up. He is very knowledgeable about fireplaces and chimneys.
