I always try to use local businesses. I believe in supporting our community as much as I possibly can. I am rarely disappointed and I wasn't this time. The company was responsive and prompt. The installer, Eric, was the best. The window quality appears to be all I asked for. I highly recommend CVS.

Having purchased a condo with West windows and sliding doors replaced with CVS products we could not help but notice the difference in our old windows compared to the new CVS windows. The CVS windows were so easy to slide and clean. When I noticed moisture between the glass in one window, a simple phone call was all that was needed to quickly have a new pane installed. We went ahead with completing the replacement project this fall. There was no question in our minds that we would purchase the same windows for the rest of our condo. The service we received was outstanding! The windows were expertly measured and installed in a reasonable time frame. We couldn't be happier with our CVS Windows and doors!

Salesman was PUSHY!! The roof looks good after all the bs we had to go thru. Got so bad i comtacted the bbb and then the owner came out to discuss our issues. Which were MANY!! Shingles removal on the front scuffed the house. Which they thought i could easily clean. No not my doings! Nails and trash were EVERYWHERE around the decks and yard. I specifically asked them to SAVE the lightning rods and the antique weathervane. They trashed the weathervane and offered me money if i could find one like i had. Again, Im not the one who threw it in the dumpster. Never was able to find an exact one so the knocked 100 bucks of my bill. Owner was beyond ignorant!! At one point i got a little mad and said a couple swear words. He then proceeded to threaten ME by calling the cops. Told him to go ahead i had the chiefs personal cell phone number. Dont tey and bully ME because Im a girl!! Stay far FAR away from this company!!!

The windows went ok. The patio door locks don't work properly already entered warranty claim. The first siding crew was horrible. Company was non-responsive as soon as there was a problem. A second crew came and fixed most of siding. A third crew came and finished fixed. The quality of siding installation is still not the best. I wouldn't ever consider using this company in the future.

The project went fantastic. Can say enough about Dan and Bear the guys that did the work. They we careful with the flowerbeds and the big bush at the north side of the house. They also listened to us about doing a few things different so it looked better. They cleaned up really well and the rest of the clean up crew took all the leftover and boxes.

after bantering with the BBB and accomplishing nothing. I got a lawyer and my siding job which was started in July 2012 was completed in November 2012. My house is average size the problem was in workmanship and professionalism. CVS promises are worthless and the owner who makes all the promises on TV is a con man

CVS tells their customers that they will obtain the proper permits and have their bond registered with local municipalities. Please protect yourselves and check with your local building department to see if a permit was issued while this company did any work at your home. As homeowners you could be held liable if a safety inspection was needed and not performed. CVS failed to obtain proper permits and never registered their insurance bond with Warren city therefore making it illegal to perform work in Warren when we signed a contract with them and they refused to obtain these permits and register their bond until forced to by law. They misrepresented themselves and breached our contract on multiple occasions. They promised us a 1 to 2 day install and its now been over 14 months. We were told we would receive a $3000 refund and then they said just dont pay the remaining $800 balance. They advertised and the salesman Mike even gave us a paper that there products are from Alside and everything is factory measured, factory made, factory installed so that nothing could go wrong. Alside would have their own bonds in place but CVS would handle everything else such as permits, their own bonds and any issues we might have. With this information we ordered a sliding glass door with a fancy polished diamond V grove pattern in the glass and a huge 5 lite double hung bay/bow window in Aug, 2013. It has been a nightmare. They did lots of damage to our house including damaging our drywall and the bow window started sagging and tilting outwards because they didn't install a cable support system for 13 months. This has caused bulging on the drywall and creating cracks on the inside of the ceiling. Huge holes were left around the window that are so big regular sized wood trim couldn't even cover the damage and they use of 2 different sizes of 1/4 round trim butted together in an attempt to cover damage, a muddy boot print stain ground into the middle of the unfinished wood window seat. They first told us the whole seat would be replaced later we were told that couldn't be done without causing more damage so they just sanded it down and left it uneven. Shoddy craftsmanship of trim around the window, ordering the wrong window screens, ordering the wrong sliding glass door twice, not bringing the proper color capping that was ordered twice, leaving exterior unfinished and exposed for multiple weeks on the door and window, leaving insulation exposed and our house vulnerable to insects and other pests. Exposed wood on the outside of the window and door with staples that could rust. They put the stopping brackets in the middle of the door covering the fancy pattern. They wouldn't return phone calls or emails from us and the Warren city inspector because they didn't obtain proper permits, and falsely stated they are bonded in the City of Warren as required by law. The installers also left the cable support system still in its package on a pile of mulch we had sitting outside the first time they came in 9/13. They at first refused to correct this issue and Warren city head building inspector Christopher Taneyhill had to take the owner of the company to court (we didn't) that was in Warren, Ohio Municipal Court CASE # 2014CRB00433 against Karl Rothacker. They were given many chances by the city inspector to just get the permits and register their bond but these requests went unanswered. After going to court twice the case was dropped in 8/14 a whole year later, as the defendant was in compliance as long as the company paid the fines and obtained the permits. In Aug/14 The first inspection was done and the window failed because they left the cable support system on our mulch and they needed to prove something was holding up this heavy window. The building inspector said the window had to be installed according to manufacturer's instructions. He had the copy emailed to him buy both Ray VanDusen from CVS and Blake Petzold from Alside. He then ordered CVS to come out and remove the capping. If cables were installed recap the window or install the cables then recap the window. Verification was also needed on the seat to make sure it was properly insulated. In late Sept early Oct 2014 it seemed as if CVS knew no cables were installed, they tried to bully us into placing braces under the window because they didn't want to remove the capping and have it verified that the window was installed without cables. We told them we wanted the cables because thats what we paid for and we have a brick fascia and you shouldn't install under brackets on brick walls. Alside/CVS then sent an email with a picture of some other house that wasn't my house, to the building inspector claiming the cable support system cant be installed because of the type of roof I have. CVS left a copy of this email accidentally here 2 weeks later while trying to get me to allow brackets. We sent them an email with actual pictures of our home and a training video from Alside we found online that says how you cant install braces on brick/stone walls. I still wonder who's house that was a picture of!!!!! If they really thought our roof was too small to install the cables, is it normal for them to just cap up the window without installing anything and tell the homeowner that cables are up there don't worry? The last time CVS/Alside performed any work was Oct 24th 2014 over 1 year since this ordeal started. They removed the capping from the window to reveal NO cables had been installed for 13 months. We believe that the original contractors weren't actually employees from the factory, but subcontractors. For 13 months nothing but the wood frame had been holding this huge window up! To make matters worse on Oct 24th 2014 the factory and CVS installed the cable support system incorrectly doing more damage to our home. When a Warren City inspector Harry Kriner came out on Oct. 24th 2014 and failed the window because it obviously wasn't installed correctly, the installers mouthed off to the inspector and Harry just left. How is it possible that factory installers didn't know how to install their own product . A few days later Mike our salesman came to the house uninvited and unannounced and got very nasty with me. Among the things he said was and quot;the window was installed correctlyand quot;, and quot;Ryan doesn't need to be hereand quot; and quot;the inspector doesn't know what he is talking about!and quot; They install 1000's of windows in this area and the inspectors haven't came to any of their jobsites. Mike said they installed tons of windows just like ours the same way and they are fine (so he's saying that they have installed tons of windows incorrectly and against the manufacturer's instructions) There's a lot more Mike said, in fact 55 mins of what he said was unbelievable. ... as we have it recorded while he was at our house in the living room. CVS has been to our home with the manufacturer of the windows and door Alside (because part of the sales pitch along with JUST A 1 TO 2 DAY install, is factory measured, factory made, factory installed, so to avoid problems such as these) to our property 7 times to fix the destruction they cause and yet, we have problems that are still unresolved. As of today we are left with a huge bay/bow window and sliding glass door that are both improperly installed that has voided the warranty and the window without capping and stress put on the truss tails from the cables being installed in the wrong spot. The sliding glass door with the fancy pattern is upside down and because they installed it opening the wrong way the first time cold air leaks from the bottom. The window is a huge safety liability and concern. It is something we would have to disclose when we sell this house because the window failed inspection 2 times, we could be sued for not disclosing this information to potential home buyers. or even be asked to have the window replaced at our expense. That makes everything we tried to do worthless. Any home improvements done to your property without a permit does not increase the value of your home. In fact it can actually decrease your home's value. This is why we can't just let it go, as I'm sure many other home owners have. We called around to different city building departments and discovered it's not just Warren City that they failed to register their bond with and they have not obtained permits in years. How many other home owners in this area are facing potential lawsuits they may not even know about yet for safety issues caused by this company's negligence? This could be a potential class action lawsuit for failure to obtain permits, the customer is paying for the company to pull these permits. Is CVS claiming the cost of permits to the IRS for their own tax purposes? There could be lawsuits from safety issues, destruction of property from improperly installed products (like cracked drywall) or faulty windows leaking insulating gas, voiding the warranty from improper installation because I'm sure we aren't the only family who CVS failed to do the right thing by

Description of Work: We wanted windows replaced In our home. They sent out a guy who looked at what we wanted done and said he needed a deposite and would send the owner out, we didn't hear from them for a few months. We called and after a few days the owner Carl and his wife came out and tried to talk us into siding when we told them we weren't interested he left and told us he would send a guy out to take measurements and give us a estimate. After months of waiting we called Carl many times to see when the guy would come out. He gave us the run around. Finally a man came out took measurements told us if it were his house he wouldn't replace the windows and we never seen him again!! We called Carl and wanted our deposite back he was rude and told us we should have gotten it and that it was the fault of the girl in the office that was pregnant and having issues. I called the office and told the girl what he said and we had our check in two days. Completely unprofessional.

This company damaged the wood decking of my roof, they cut damaged areas out off the roof and never replaced them they shingled over the holes. They replaced the siding and didn't fanfold the whole house just parts. Then the siding started to buckle off the house be for they even finished so they cut the heads off of the nails and tried to hold the siding together. When I seen it I complained and the manager said its common in the siding field, he said its called pinning and its common. With in weeks the siding started to buckle and fall off the house, I complained and wanted to speak to the owner of the company and he would not speak to me. I be leave they damaged all my windows won't know till I have everything redone. They flooded my basement several times, they damaged my bedroom ceiling because the didn't tarp the roof correctly, it looks like mold is growing behind the siding but won't know till redone. I had to go to arbitration through the BBB in Youngstown Ohio. The arbitrator sent a expert to my home to inspect it and he was pretty surprised of what he seen. He said nothing was done properly and the whole house would need redone. CVS said the expert didn't know what he was talking about. The arbitrator ordered CVS to pay to have my home redone. Like I said before there may be more damage than we can see, won't know till removed for repairs. This company fought me for 3 years even though they knew it all needed redone. Please take my advise don't hire this company and never sign a contract with an arbitration clause. That clause keeps company's like this out of court. They hide behind that clause.

They are in the process of doing the work. So far everything is fine. We were eight weeks out and we were told that from the beginning. The windows are going to be put in next week and if they get it done by the end of October, everything will be done on schedule. I would give them a B overall; no one is perfect. I don't know if I would use them again or not; I'll know when the work is done. I've seen their work in the area and I like the work they've done. Until they are done with my place, I have to reserve my judgment.

When we decided to have our siding, gutters and downspouts replaced this year, we started by attending the local home shows and speaking with various contractors. We narrowed our choices down to three companies and asked them to come to our home for an estimate. CVS was the only company that took the time to thoroughly explain what would be involved with the project and to answer any and all of our questions. We also felt that the price was very competitive. While this made for a somewhat lengthy sales process, we appreciated the willingness of CVS to both educate us as consumers and build a high level of trust in the commitment of CVS to the customer. The quality of materials used in our siding project is excellent. The driver was very courteous and helpful when the siding materials were delivered prior to the start of the job. The installers from CVS did an excellent job and were courteous and professional throughout the entire process. They even went above and beyond the demands of the siding project when they diagnosed a previously unknown problem with our brick chimney and stabilized it for us.We had one small issue with a piece of trim at the end of our job and it was corrected in a timely manner. The downspout color that we had requested was not available, but the production manager made sure that we had downspouts before a heavy storm hit the next day. When the proper color downspouts were available, they were promptly installed. Since the completion of our project we have received many complements on the quality of the workmanship. Some of these have come from other home repair professionals.
