AJ Testa Lawn Care & Landscaping

It pains me to write this because I don’t like writing negative reviews, and, because I got fooled. First, the positives. Anthony presented well; arrived on time in a newer vehicle to survey the property for our annual lawn service, and subsequently presented a detailed written contract along with proof of insurance. We accepted his price without negotiation. He took a lot of time with the first cutting (we probably have 4+ acres to mow) and his work looked nice – that day. Then, it came off of the rails, and the list of missteps is long: Our service day of the week was Thursday, but if it rained on Thursday, then we’d have to wait for next Thursday. And because it rained on a few Thursdays in a row, our place looked terrible. We called and texted, got promises and maybes, but nothing until a decent weather Thursday. Plus, it turns out he never picked up the sticks from the previous winter – he just moved them next to the trees. We asked that the grass around a drainage ditch be weed-wacked, and it was never done. We have a fenced in area for our dogs to run, and we require the clippings be picked up. We had to call him back to pick up the clumps of grass (the dogs eat them and get sick) because his people didn’t pay attention when bagging the clippings. We added another very small property to be mowed about a block from us and found out he “didn’t get around to doing it” when he did show up for the main job. But here’s the real kicker – he disappeared, gone, went radio silent - call it what you want. He just stopped coming, and didn’t respond to texts, phone calls, or emails. Truly, one of the most unprofessional, unreliable, and poorly managed lawn care operations in this area. I generously gave him 2 stars for the professional documents and the few times it did look nice here, but in reality, isn’t his subsequent business practice of ghosting a confirmed contract more like a zero-star review?

He cuts my grass every week and he does a good job. I rate him highly. I will continue to use him because he will be doing my grass all summer.

He is also capable of other landscaping. He also seems very capable and knowledgeable.
