Superior Air Duct Cleaning

Technician was professional and did a good job. When he was inspecting the condition of my ducts with his video camera and visually thruogh the hole he made to insert his equipment, he discovered some items left inside by the original contractors who built the house. He was able to remove those items. He came on time and job took about 3 hours as he had indicated before the job was started. Would recommend to anyone looking to have their ducts cleaned.

Very prompt and professional. All supplies and returns cleaned (12-13 total) within the timeframe specified (~3 hrs).. The serviceman was helpful in pointing out which returns were not in service as well. All in all a very good experience.

They arrived promptly and worked for 6 hours straight without even a lunch break. Only disappointment was I asked if there would be any mess and they said not but there was a fine coating of dirt on everything in the basement when they were done. I would have covered things had I known

The technician arrived on time. Showed me the how dirty the ducts were and performed the necessary tasks to clean the ducts. The environment in my house improved immediately. Less dust and easier breathing.

Outstanding service. Rick was prompt, knowledgeable and skilled. He answered all of my questions and concerns. My wife was quite concerned about the vacuum system generating dust (e.g. in other rooms) but this is handled by sealing each vent first, then opening them one-by-one to clean. The service was fairly fast and the results look great. I took one point off for price because there are companies offering this service for less money; that said, we are very happy.

The technician was punctual, polite, seemed to be thorough, etc. None of this matters since the expected result was not achieved. I wanted this service because of a problem with dust in my condominium. The building that I live in was buillt in the 70's and several years ago, a previous owner did a lot of remodeling. He made changes in the ceiling, walls, etc. I bought this condo a year ago and the dust is abnormally bad. However, the dust only occurs when I run the furnace or air conditioning. I did not run my system immediately after Superior Duct Cleaning did the work because the weather wasn't hot and I didn't need the air conditioning. When I did notice that I still get excessive dust, I called Superior Duct Cleaning and spoke with John, the owner. He said that the dust can't be coming from the ducts, it must be coming from a ceiling fan, or some other source. I explained that even the bathroom fixtures get coated with dust and the bathroom does not have a ceiling fan. I told him that I think that my ducts are an extreme case extreme and I doubt that they have ever been cleaned and probably need more work. He said that's impossible but he had no other explanation. I have tried several times to call back and talk to John. I left messages but he does not return my call. My condo is not located on a highway where traffic would create dust and there is no construction going on in our area that would cause dust.

The technician who performed the work for Superior Air Duct Cleaning was very likeable and a hard worker. We were however disappointed with several aspects of the service. I called because I was tired of having so much dust throughout our house when the furnace comes on. Our house has never had ductwork cleaning before. Prior to starting the job, the Superior Air Duct technician showed me a cell phone camera photo that he took inside the ductwork that showed some build-up of dust. But even he admitted, it wasn't too bad. And we don't have pets either. In the company website and photos for their ads they depict a clean bright truck that comes to your house to clean your ductwork. The Superior truck that arrived at our house was pretty dirty inside and out. He had done a job that morning prior to arriving at our house. So the equipment was dirty to start with. Even the blue vacuum bags that pop out of the top of the truck when the service is operating, were a dark dusty gray, appearing to me to be filled with dirt inside and out. When the vacuum began operating I noted a lot of dust in the air outside. I noted that the hoses that were dragged into our house were fairly dirty. The technician took his shoes off when inside the house and walked around in his socks, instead of wearing the clean booties over the shoes, like some repairmen do. The technician's uniform was dirty too, and he left various hand-prints on our walls that he leaned on and touched when stopping to speak with us. Our basement is not finished, mainly used for storage, so i'm not stressing over any dust there. I did however have to clean up sharp metal bits from the floor left behind by the technician when he drilled the holes into the ductwork. (We found that the sharp tiny metal pieces were getting stuck in our shoes and carried upstairs where they were scratching the floors.) The most disappointing aspect of the cleaning wasn't noticed by us until after the technician completed the job and left. His last step apparently was to turn the furnace back on and to spray a sanitizing solution into the ductwork. We are guessing that there was still a fair amount of dust particles in the air throughout the ductwork when he did this, because a good bit of dust blew out of the furnace and into our home. The worst rooms were the bedrooms and we cleaned until 2AM so that we could go to bed without breathing in the dust. We found the heaviest dust nearest each register, and even gritty particles too. Not sure where the grit came from. Spent the next several days wiping up surfaces throughout the rest of the house, vacuuming carpets and furniture.

The initial reason I chose Superior Air Duct Cleaning was their reputation from others who have used them, the fact they were members of the National Association of Air Duct Cleaners and were certified through them. I was familiar with the association and had attended one of their conventions years ago and was aware of their continuing education program. When I contacted John Dean, he was professional, informative and competitive. The added plus to our experience was the continued confidence of Richie, who actually performed the service for us. He was outstanding...very professional and considerate. We have already referred the Company and Richie to relatives. It was a pleasurable experience for us.

He was great. It took him about an hour to do. I thought their prices were very reasonable; it was $300 for 10 registers and an additional price for each register. They also offered a $75 coupon through Angie's List. They cleaned up after themselves; it was like he wasn't even here. He was timely, professional, very pleasant and very thorough. I would recommend him.

They were excellent. They did what they said they would do, they charged what they said they would charge, and they were here when they said they would be.

Update to Superior Air Duct Cleaning. Now that my furnace is coming on, I can't believe how long my house keeps clean. In prior years, everytime the furnace came on I had dust and woke up with sinus problems. Now as the weather is turning in Western PA I find less sinus problems and the air in the house just feels cleaner which is proven by far less dust on the furniture and vacuum. This service is worth every penney. I highly recommend Superior Air Duct Cleaning. The price was in line with other companies but all you have to do is see thier truck and the equipment they bring into your house to know that their business is air duct cleaning. They not only bring in high power equipment and use the generator on their truck for power but show before and after pictures to prove they have performed the work. I was impressed on my first phone call when I was given the price and scheduled a time when someone would be home on the first phone call. I have a large house and it took almost 4 hours to complete the work and Rick were very careful about not tracking any dirt into the house. Professional, high quality, courteous service is what I received. I am so glad I found this company on Angieslist. I only wish they performed other services because they definitely would get my business. I wish ALL businesses would perform even 80% as well as Superior Air Duct. I was very pleased with the young man from Superior Air Duct. He was on time and was very accommodating. There were three service contractors on my street today and parking is at a premium. He was patient and willing to work with the other contractors so he could get my job done timely. Kevin explained to me what he was going to do and took pictures to show me what was in my air ducts. He worked very efficently and cleanned up after himself when the work was completed. I would use this company again without a doubt. I recommended them to my next door neighbor who is in the process of remodeling her home.

Near as I can tell, there was zero dust left in any of the ducts after cleaning. Can't get much better than that. Also had the dryer vent cleaned. As part of that service, they cleaned the inside of the dryer itself, which, according to my wife, was worse than the actual dryer ductwork. Nice touch. I wasn't there myself when the work was done, but my wife seemed to be very happy with all that was done, and she can be picky. Overall, good people to deal with. No complaints.

They arrived when they said they were and completed the job in about three hours. He showed the vents through his camera before he started and after so we could see the difference. We would hire them again.

John was a pleasure to work with. The price he quoted me up front was exactly what I was charged in the end. He even went out of his way to email me digital camera pictures of the before/after, since I was unable to be there the day the performed the service and see the live camera feed. I would highly recommend using this company.

John was very courteous and professional on the phone and in person. He arrived on time and was done in a couple of hours. My house is 85 years old and had never had the vents cleaned. John showed me the volume of junk that he removed and boy was it gross. I am so glad I had this done.

The house is 66 years old and clearly had not had the system cleaned before. In addition, the house was completely remodeled prior to our purchase. At least 5 vents were completely clogged with construction material or possessions from the previous owners. Some of the items were so unique that they were taking them back to their "wall of fame." Superior was able to find the clogs and removed them all. The house is much warmer and we have air in all our rooms now. I would definitely recommend them.

Overall, I had a great pleasant experience. I really didn’t have any complaints. I would absolutely recommend them to others. The gentleman was very nice. It seems like he did a really very thorough job. I would definitely use them again in the future.

They did a very good job. They were very prompt and he had everything done in a couple hours. He didn't mind me asking questions and he explained a lot of things. He was very professional. The price was very reasonable.

I've recently moved in with my sister in Harmony, PA and, since my home has been in Charleston, SC for many years, have never had to even consider a service like this so I was glad Angie's list was available to me to help her pick a company for something she had never had done. The appointment was scheduled for 8am and Rich arrived right on time. On inspecting the registers, Rich realized that some things were connected to a wood burner that would no longer be used and advised us just to close off those ducts and not worry about them until we decided to use it again. He fixed a loose duct, showed us where other repairs could help save heating oil and gave us advice that will save even more, inspected the furnace and found that the wrong size filters are in place but the burners are fine. Rich didn't even laugh at some of the silly questions we asked. Hey, this service has not been performed in the 35 years we know of and probably longer so we had no idea...so naive in fact, that we could have been overcharged easily and never known the difference. And, while Rich was setting up, getting the machines going, he was greeted by our frisbee-mad dog, Doc, and threw the frisbee for him, making a fur-friend for life. We couldn't be more pleased with the service, the helpfulness, and the professionalism of this young man in particular and the company as a whole.

We desperately needed to have our ducts cleaned. Whenever I turn the heat on it smells like musty basement and mold and a Pittsburgh winter is coming so I knew that sooner was definitely going to be better than later. I chose Superior both because other Angie's List members gave them great reviews and because of the $75 off coupon that Angie's List offers. My girlfriend and I scheduled an appointment for a week after we called (we were hoping for sooner, but what are you going to do). They said that they would be here at 8:00 a.m. and he was here before 8:05 a.m. We were told that it might take half a day, but he was done in a little over 2 hours. The service was exceptional. He put a tarp over the door so that my cats couldn't get out; and even closed the door to the basement every time he went in or out to humor my fear that the cats will get stuck somewhere down there. The estimate on our 7 vents and 2 returns came to $375 (anything under 10 vents), which was then reduced to $300 by the coupon mentioned earlier. I added sanitization, which brought the total back to $375 (plus $26 for tax). I should mention that the only reason that I have graded the price as a B rather an A is that my house is very small and, having never used this service before from any company, I'm not sure what the total should be. I will also say that we were told what the price would be over the phone and it was spot on, so I was happy to pay for the quality that this company clearly provides. As I said, the process took about two hours and I could definitely hear things get sucked through the hose (apparently there was quite a bit of crumbled concrete in the system from a poorly installed vent). The only thing that I didn't have done was get one of the registers changed. Some reviews of other companies mentioned them changing the registers, but Superior does not offer this. However, this is something that I can easily do myself. All in all, I am very pleased with the whole experience. The circulating air isn't perfect yet, but it has improved significantly, and I was told that the sanitizer takes a couple of days to fully work. My technician (who's name I wish I could remember since he just left) was very professional and knowledgeable, he came on time and did the job quickly and for exactly the amount that I was quoted. Frankly, I don't think that you can ask for more than that. If you are on the fence about having this done, I would definitely recommend this service and company.

My experience was very good. They did a very good job. They were very pleasant and willing to fix any problems that might occur.

Superior was very flexible in scheduling a time to fit my schedule. Rick showed up on time, gave me an estimate and performed the work. He was done in a few hours (this house has a small HVAC system) and the job performed was more than acceptable. Rick cleaned out all of the combs, brushes and toys left in the vents by the previous tenants. Also, the dryer vent was cleaned out nicely. Overall a great job.

They arrived , cleaned vents and sanitized vent. All went well. The air quality has improved greatly. I would recommend them to anyone needing this service.
