They showed up promptly for an estimate the day I called in; they arrived the next day while we were at work and performed everything they said they would. We were thrilled that they completed it so quickly and professionally and intend on using their services in future.

Twice I scheduled him to meet me at the property where I wished to have trimming done. Both times he stood me up. He was apologetic on the phone; claimed to be overwhelmed by the response to his Big Deal offer. Eventually I concluded I was not likely to see the guy anytime soon, so I phoned Angie's List today to ask for a refund -- which was promptly arranged.

I contacted Rob of RB Tree Service based on his Angie's List $400 for $200 special. Rob is the owner of this registered and insured business and has a few employees. Due to the response to the Angie's List special and the small size of his company, Rob informed me that there would be a slight delay in his ability to get to my request. I appreciated his honesty and was comfortable with waiting for a week or two until his schedule cleared. One week later, Rob arranged to meet me at the two rental properties where I was having the work performed. He sized up the job, explained to me how the trees would be trimmed / removed and provided a written price quote. I needed one large maple tree removed and some addl trees trimmed at one property and trimming of two additional trees at a second property. The original price quote was $1450, which I felt was very fair based on the size and complexity of the job. The work was performed one week later and was completed in one day. I did add some additional work to the original quote so the final price ended up being $1550. I added in a bit extra for Rob and the crew, which brought the total to $1600. Regarding the work, Rob and his crew showed up on-time that day, worked at a steady pace and completed the project by days end. I was very inpressed with the way the crew worked together and restored my property to its original condition - removed all debris including raking and leaf blowing away the saw dust and fallen leaves. In summary, I highly recommend Rob and his crew. As a small-time landlord / property owner, I enjoy supporting small business owners such as Rob vs hiring the large corporate giants. He is a standup, hardworking and honest guy and I wish him the best. Rich Messimer

Rob was really great to deal with. He gave a free estimate and then we set up a date for the stump removal. His employee who did the actual stump removal was very polite, professional and did a great job. He worked really hard and made sure that the holes were filled as I wanted them to be. He cleaned everything up at the end and the back yard looks great. I would highly recommend RB Tree Services!

The owner did the work on the tree & his helpers did all the clearing & put the branches that fell into the chipper & was chainsawing the larger branches. Everyone was very professional & doing their job. Very pleased! The owner even took my pile of leaves I had raked & put them in the chipper. I would highly recommend R&B Tree Services. It went very well. Rob was punctual,pleasant, professional and easy to deal with. He expliained in detail what he was going to do and did it. He and his crew worked from the minute they arrived until the job was completed. I don't know how he did it , but he was able to shape the tree. He cleaned up when he was done and I plan on using him again on another tree in the spring. I have already recommended him to a friend.

I Called and TB went to see the job. Gave me a price of $950.00 to cut one large locust tree down that had to be climbed and parts lowered to the ground. When I asked if he could give me a new price if I just had him cut the tree down and I would do the hauling away of the tree debris. He told me that he would have to go back to the site and recalculate. I got the distinct feeling that he really was not interested in the job after I suggested I would take care of the haul a way. He told me that there was no problem with a refund. All I have to do is call Angie's List to complete a refund. I Did!

Large tree limbs were groing over house roof. The tree is over 80 years old and the limbs were quite large. Rob made a special trip to go over his proposed scope of work. He adjusted scope after consultation with him. We met on Saturday and Rob and crew did his work on Monday. It reallly looks great and we are completely satisfied with his work, professionalism and cost of job. I would use Rob again and recommend him to a friend.

Did not have any work performed as the service provider was not in my local area. Very nice guy, gave me some good information on how to proceed.

I bought an Angie's list deal from R&B tree service with the thought of just trimming the trees in front of my house. Two of the tress where up against the house and causing damage to shingles and providing a path for pests to the house. Rob called me after I made the purchase of the deal and took down my address and asked what I needed done. By the time I spoke to him I decided I wanted the pine removed entirely. A couple of weeks later Rob came by while I was at work and left his business card for the price to remove the tree minus the amount of the deal I purchased. I called him back and scheduled for him to come out on 10/17/13 and remove the tree. He arrived as scheduled, introduced me to his crew, and I proceeded to also tell him I wanted the other two trees in front of my house trimmed and shaped. Rob and his crew removed the pine tree (about 25 ft high) and ground the stump down. He also cut back the tree on the other side of the front of my house as it was also rubbing up against it. He then trimmed and shaped a tree that is in the center of my front yard. They mulched all the wood and cleaned up any debris that was caused during the job. Rob then covered the location of the pine stump with mulch that was already in my garden and made it look like a tree was never there. Rob and his crew were courteous and extremely professional. I would definately use him again in the future. Nice job Rob!

I purchased the Big Deal on October 7th in the morning. I left a message with the Contractor the week before but never received a return call until Monday, 10/7 in the afternoon. He stated that he is in Beaver County and could not afford to bring his equipment to Allegheny County. He said that he would call Angie's list to let them know this as he received many calls from Allegheny County. He was very nice and apologetic.

The provider was very courteous and honest concerning the whole situation. I would have used their services had I lived in their service area. They still gave me a quote despite not living there, but it was unfortunately inflated due to transportation costs.

Rob showed up for the appointment on time and was knowledgeable and professional but after speaking with him I determined that it would be best to hire someone closer to my jobsite. I would hire this company if they were closer.

R B Tree service was very professional and offered to send my money back if it could not be resolved with Angie's List. The distance was at least 50 miles for a tree removal of $199.00. It was too much of a financial loss for this provider to perform this service. Apparently he did not want or realize this would be offered in Allegheny. Rob handled this situation with the up most courtesy.

Below is the correspondence string of trying to work with RB Tree Service. Two points: 1) I want my money refunded. Over three years, and 6-7 vendors that I have contacted via Angie's List, this is the first negative experience. 2) I want to at least share my experience and possibly save another member the pain of trying to work with RB Tree Service. 9/30/2013 Angie?s List Customer: Remarks submitted when I purchased the Big Deal: I have some trees that need to be trimmed in my backyard in Scott Township. If a company won't show for the first appointment, what faith would you have contracting with them?

Rob was prompt, professional and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend him.

Robb went farther than we expected. He not only took down the birch tree and ground out the stump as agreed, but he also pulled out the large bushes, roots and all when we thought he was only going to cut them off. He did an excellent job and we were very happy. I would recommend him to anyone.

I contacted R.B. Tree Services for a quote to remove three trees, two of which were very large, dead ash trees and one was a wild cherry. Rob came the same day I called and provided a quote. I decided to go with his company because of the excellent reviews he received on Anglie's list. They came the next week and worked from 8am until 6pm. I was very pleased with the job they did which included cutting the trees, stacking the wood, grinding two of the stumps and the clean-up. I would definitely use them again.

Contacted for estimate. Out the next day. Came promptly and took care of job. Very friendly, yet professional. Work completed in one day. Clean up good. Would hire again.

Rob was there the same day I called, the day after a big storm. As there were quite a few downed trees that day, he kept me updated on when he would arrive. He got to me at 7P, gave me a fair price, removed the limb, cut it up and shredded it and was on his way to the next customer. They also complied with Insurance company requests to pile the wood for a picture before shredding and wrote the bill to the insurance company specifications.

We called RB Tree Services based on good reviews in Angie's list and the nearby address. I talked with Rob Burr, who came to the house and looked at the work to be performed. He explained to us the problem with the tree (it had been attacked by a boring insect that is damaging/killing virtually all of the ash trees in the area) and gave us a quote of $300 to completely remove the tree and stump. We agreed to go ahead with the work. His company was currently working on some other jobs, and there was no hurry on our part, so we agreed that he would remove the tree sometime in the next week or two. A few days later, a very large multi-trunk birch tree fell in our back yard during a storm. I called Rob and he said that he would take a look at it and give us a quote. Several days later, he came to our house with trucks and chipping and grinding equipment. He and his co-worker made quick work of the ash tree and left the yard immaculate, with a small flat round area where we could plant grass. He also helped us out by cutting branches that were in contact with the roof and walls of the house from the fallen birch tree in the back yard. He looked at the very large fallen tree and will be working up a quote for me while I deal with my homeowner insurance. Based on Rob's professionalism and the high quality of his work, I'm planning to have RB Tree Service remove the fallen birch tree. It's a much larger job than the ash tree in the front yard, but I'll fight with the insurance company if necessary.

I got R.B. Tree Services' phone number from Angie's list and called them in the morning and left a message. Rob called me later that day and stopped by in the evening to give me an estimate which was better than the others I had obtained that day. I accepted the offer and he said he would do he job the following morning around 730-8am. He and another guy arrived promptly and proceeded to take down the tree and were done In less than 2 hours. He also ground out he stump and the entire job was done quickly and neatly. All debris was hauled away. He and his coworker were polite and I would definitely recommend this service and would use it again.

Rob came quickly after being contacted, to a**** the job and provide an estimate. We had three large trees to be cut down, one pine, one blue spruce and one locust. The locust we wanted for firewood, the pine and the spruce were to be removed; stumps were to be ground on two of the three, and some of the shredded branches left as mulch. The job was complicated by the fact that all of the trees were 30-40 feet tall, and two of them sat close to our back porch and a swimming pool. We caught Rob in his busy season, but we were not in a great rush to have the job done. He came out on a Saturday with his crew, got to work immediately, and worked the entire day with very few, if any, breaks. Because of the proximity to the house and pool, as well as the size of the trees, the job took a bit longer than expected (2 1/2 days); they proceeded cautiously at each major step, and discussed at length how to cut, anchor and rig up comealongs and pulleys before going forward. I was truly amazed how they got each large piece to drop exactly where they wanted it. They shredded all of the branches, cleaned up the site, and cut the wood that we wanted to keep in fireplace-sized logs. A neighbor family wanted some of the pine/spruce for bonfires, so Rob hauled it to their yard. I felt that the price quoted was very fair ($2000.00 - 5% Angies discount= $1900.00) for the size and scope of the job; after seeing how the crew hustled and the expertise that they displayed, i would say that we definitely got our money's worth. I would highly recommend Rob and plan to use his services in the future.

We contacted this company for an estimate in the first week in March along with about four other companies. This one had the lowest bid but was also the most flexible about working with our schedule. The owner came in the evening to give me a quote and when he called back to schedule, he wanted one day but when I asked him to change it for my convenience, he readily agreed. We will definitely call again if we need more trees taken down or trimmed on our property.
