Pro Fence & Railing

Beware of signing any agreements with Pro Fence and Railing! I put down a deposit for the full price of a fence installation after being told that the fence would be installed within 2 months. Several weeks later, I was told that the installation date would actually be over 4 months from the date of the initial deposit. As it would happen, we suddenly needed to sell our house prior to the installation date, so I asked Pro Fence if we could cancel the project and have the deposit refunded. Even though the installation date wasn't for another 2 months, they refused, citing that "all deposits are non-refundable". While that may be true, businesses that generally try to do the right thing will usually make exceptions in scenarios like this that are out of the control of the customer. It's an incredibly greedy company that simply doesn't care about doing the right thing for the customer. Their needs will always come before yours.

I was not home when Jeff spoke to my husband. When the conversation was relayed to me I was furious at his nonchalant attitude after his company was so irresponsible! I called him. I identified myself and asked him how his company could be so irresponsible and ignorant as to the property line etc. Now let me say that I was angry. I did not use any expletives in our initial conversation. As soon as I identified myself and said I was extremely unhappy he told me he was not going discuss it with me until I was calm. Let me state that I was calm just unhappy. I was not screaming and didn't even raise my voice. I made the statement that he was not only unprofessional but rude as well. He HUNG UP ON ME! I called him back and said "Did you hang up on me?" He replied yes. I then used and expletive. Not my finest moment but you don't damage someone's property and then be rude and have an attitude when questioned about it and hang up on someone who is angry but not rude. There is a difference. I need to state that I have been in management for 30 years. I deal with the public and with patients in a medical setting. I have dealt with many upset people through the years. The way to handle someone who is upset (particularly someone with a legitimate issue which was caused by his company!) is to apologize and diffuse the situation. He continued to act like he didn't care that our brand new fence was damaged. Ultimately, as not to hold up our neighbors for months as their fence was incomplete, we chose to let Pro Fence repair the damage because our fence company was unavailable for several months. They told us how to have it repaired so I emailed Jeff Urben and informed him that I would allow him to repair the fence. My stipulation was that they contact us in advance so we could oversee the repair to be sure it was to our satisfaction. I received no response. Several days later they just showed up and began making repairs. I was furious! I have NEVER dealt with a company or so called company president who was so unprofessional. I know that I can speak for my neighbors who hired Pro Fence. They were extremely unsatisfied and regretful that they used Pro Fence. My fence is permanently altered as all they were able to do to to repair it was remove the metal fence and plug the multiple screw holes. IF that side of the fence was visible form my side I would have sued Pro Fence and made them replace my fence completely. My fence was erected in July of this Year by another company and we were very happy. I was advise anyone to avoid Pro Fence and Railing! If they had made sure their client had the REQUIRED permit from Economy Borough then all this could have been avoided. By obtaining the permit the neighbors would have been aware of the property line. Not only did Pro Fence not ask to see the permit, they showed up to erect a fence without speaking to the property owners who hired them. I know this because I asked my neighbor how she allowed them to attach her fence to mine (which also placed her fence 18" on my property). She said she was out of the state when they showed up to erect her fence. Unprofessional and irresponsible from start to finish!

the office manager and the business owner are very rude individuals. i waited patiently when the manufacturer never received my order from them, was even told i would receive a discount on my next order (i still have $16,000 worth of fence to put up)...and i waited patiently for the job to be COMPLETED (work still needed done on my 2 gates). however, they were anything but patient when they DEMANDED payment. it was not 18 days late as they persisted. it was a reasonable amount of time to pay an invoice. but the owner threatened me with an attorney, called ME an ******* and hung up on me. this was the 3rd time i hired them and have been good for the money each time. however, he said he doesn’t care about any future business
