He replaced an exhaust fan over the stove and replaced a chandalier. He was on time and did a great job. He was extremely clean and was very professional. Overall was a fantastic experience!

Mr. Jeffers provided a free estimate for the work he did soon after my call. I explained that my husband and I would be out of town for a few days and he agreed to schedule the work for the first work day upon our return. He explained everything that he proposed doing thoroughly and asked me if I had any questions. Mr. Jeffers is a personable young man who keeps himself up-to-date on the latest in his field. He was polite, did the work in a reasonable amount of time and left all work areas clean. I am very pleased with all the work that he did for me. I would gladly call J&L again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone needing an electrician.

Showed up on time for estimate, determined that GFI outlet did not need to be replaced, quoted price was final price, arrived on time to complete replacement, and provided information for replacement bulbs in the future.

I wanted to install recessed lighting in my 2nd floor and did not have any ideal about the cost. Before I bought the deal I called the office and asked if they would come in and look at the recessed lighting project and give me a quote before actually doing the work (when we could use the $99 credit). Since they agreed to this I bought the $99 deal But when the electrician came in (he was very nice and professional, btw) he said that I needed to use the $99 the same day and that the receptionist may not have explained it correctly. Just because he came home I had him install a ceiling light fixture which I was planning to do myself (I had already bought the fixture). So just to install the fixture I gave him $99 (the whole thing took about 15 - 20 minutes) The company needs to ensure that they are providing the right information when they advertise a deal

Ed Leek is one of the best professionals I have ever dealt with. Ed installed a new electrical box, numerous new circuits, tested and services our GFI outlets, and installed a landscape lighting plan for us. He COULD have charged us MUCH more by inflating services needed --- but rather he ended up SAVING us money on numerous issues. I would trust Ed to do ANY electrical work and would recommend him highly. This review is late only because I just joined Angie's List --- and he deserves the excellent review.

We bought the big deal and then hired an additional hour or so of service. We only requested that a simple overhead light be installed and numerous outlets be replaced in out 1890 home. Admittedly, some of the wires in our house are very short. Things were going well and I was able to inspect the work as he went along but then I got busy with my kids. when he had to leave, I paid him the monies due and he left. His clean up was just average but what bothered me mostwas the outlet plates were not set straight on the wall and one was lopsided and partially recessed into the wall. When I called to report my issue and asked them to return next time they were in the area, I was advised that "there might be additional charges". I explained the issue but was again told the same. The older outlet covers were straight so the response was disappointing. I needed some pverhead fixtures installed about a month later and had another electrician resolve the problems.

The whole event went well- no complaints.

Arrived on time, pleasant, Replaced the hall light with one I had purchased ..but dropped the domed shade(broke it) and had to go to Home depot to get another. Took awhile I asked him to check and fix the light switch in that area(hallway) which "buzzed and crackled" concerned me as a potential fire hazard-he worked on it- seemed OK but it never really got fixed. Still makes the same noise. It used the full time for the $99 of work He picked up my screw drive by mistake (my favorite from sears) - I called and they returned another one(not mine) despite my description, Sent me a new one from Sears. I didn't get my dimmer switch fixed that I wanted due to time..not sure it was a great bargain. They were very polite and punctual and work was neat that they did. They are pretty distant for me to use again.

This was the most positive contractor experience I?ve had in about 20 yrs. They were pleasant, professional & courteous from start to finish. The only minor negative was that they had to reschedule the initial appraisal visit because one of the installers had called in sick, but they promptly notified me & rescheduled the visit. There was no pressure or hard-sell scare tactics which I?fe experienced with other contractors. The estimate was in line with other?s I had received. The electricians arrived exactly on time, completed the job promptly, carefully cleaned up afterward & even removed some tree leaf debris that had accumulated behind a roof baffle. I will definitely use this company for any future electrical work & have shared my positive opinion of them with all my friends & neighbors.

Very good. Came timely for an estimate and were very professional. Their price was in -line and competitive with other estimates. We only chose a different company because they were using a fixture that had a longer manufacture warranty. A positive experience and I would certainly call them again when I need electrical work.

We originally purchased the Big Deal with J&L Electric to take care of a few items around the house. They were extremely professional and courteous and punctual. After the service was performed, we asked them about another project (installing a new service line and new electrical box) we wanted to have completed. They looked at what we wanted done and provided an estimate a day or two later. We contracted them for the larger project and again, they exceeded expectations. They worked with the local power company and building inspector to schedule the necessary visits. They cleaned the area they worked in and left the area very clean. We would absolutely use them again.

Do not buy a two hour service from them.

I referred Ed to an elderly friend of mine who needed a bunch of minor electrical work done in her home. She had tried someone else in the past, who did a poor job and took advantage of her when the bill came, so she was looking for someone that was honest and did a good job and wouldn't take advantage of a senior citizen. Since I have had great experience with Ed in the past, I told her to give him a call to see if he could help. Ed has visited her twice so far, and she can't stop talking about how wonderful he is, what a great job he's done, and reasonably priced. He has treated her and her home with respect, and she can't say enough about how kind he has been to her. I told her I'd post a review on Angie's list if she'd like - she is over 90 years old and doesn't have a computer! She gave me the following note to post: "A friend referred J&L Electric to me. I made an appointment and a young man arrived at my door the next morning because of a cancellation. Ed told me what was wrong and what it would take to repair it as well as the cost. By 10:00 in the morning, my room was completed. Ed is conscientious, courteous, and competent!"

I called them and we schedule an appointment around my availability. They showed up on time and completed the work we discussed. I explained what I wanted done and he completed the work to meet my needs. He was very courteous and professional.

Scott arrived at the time he gave us when we agreed on the quote and performed all of the work efficiently in a relatively short period of time. He showed us everything that he did and explained each step. The work appears to be high quality and we have had no problems during the two months since the job. This is the second job Scott has performed for us and we couldn't be happier with the price and quality of the work.

Scott ran through what I wanted versus what was feasible, quoted an hourly rate or a full job proice and did what was quoted. Would use again to finish a few tasks that were not feasible to do in the time frame.

I was very, very happy with their work. Scott came out first and did an estimate and then a week or so later Ed came out and did the work. They are both very friendly and personable. Neither tried to sell me any additional work. I believe they are both highly-qualified electricians and honest workers. They were happy to answer all electrical questions I had.

We had the electrician (Scott I believe) out to our house to look at upgrading our service. I have to say in all fairness that I had a few issues with my schedule and they were very accomodating. That being said, once here I asked if he would email the estimate to my husband and he agreed. He did inform me that he needed to make some calls before he could send us the estimate. That was not a problem for us. A couple of weeks pass and my husband has not received an email/estimate from him. I logged back onto Angie's List and sent off my own email asking them, once again, to please send the email to my husband. At this point, I have provided an email address to them twice. A day or two after that, I called their office directly and got their voicemail. I reiterated that we had not heard from them and asked for a phone call. I specifically asked that if they were not interested in accepting the work to please communicate that to me at the very least. That was several days ago and I still have not heard anything from them. I cannot tell you if this company provides quality work or if they provide fair prices because they basically just blew us off. I feel that leaving my email and phone call unanswered is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Everything went great from start to finish. Very easy to schedule appointments. Very professional and easy to work with staff. I'm very pleased with their work.

The electrician showed up on time and explained how the pricing works. We were told that the 2 hours began as soon as he assessed what needed to be done. We were only charged an extra $15 for the new plug/plate cover. The electrician was very efficient and clean. He knew what needed to be done and finished up within the 2 hours allowing time to clean up.

We've been concerned about the 2-prong outlets in our 1950 house and wanted to have the ground checked in our wiring system and have 3-prong outlets installed. I called J&L on a Wednesday and the work was scheduled for the following Friday, two days later. Steve, one of the partners in the firm, arrived right at the time we scheduled and we identified each task to be performed. He did this quickly and got directly to work, pausing only to answer my questions. He was very friendly and willing to explain anything that I asked about, but also very professional. He worked quickly and finished more tasks than I initially thought we'd get done. He offered some valuable advice on a few other tasks that I intended to perform myself. Before he left, we talked about some other electrical work that we're considering engaging J&L to perform, and he made sure that I had no questions or concerns about the work that he did. He indicated that the office manager would be sending me a quote on the additional work. Based on the professionalism, efficiency, and quality of work performed, I would recommend J&L Electric to anyone, including my friends and family. Although the work performed was not major, I can see that this company is honest and professional. I'll be calling them for any and all electrical work at my home.
