We love our "new" kitchen! All the staff at Kitchen Magic we dealt with were friendly and did a really nice job. They took their time to clean up each day and arrived on time in the morning. They offered helpful information on how to keep our kitchen, and gave us advice on our questions about future projects. I do recommend Kitchen Magic for your kitchen renovations.

Horrible experience. The salesman, for that is what he was, came into our home with several cases of samples. He told us which ones were in which price range. I came to discover that all Cambria has the same cost. The sales man incorrectly informed us that the only option for an under mount sink was stainless steel. I knew that to be incorrect but continued the meeting. He then made a template sketch, which he did not let us see and asked for my Costco number. He commented about how much that brought the price down. He then informed us that the cost after discount was $17,000. We were shocked. After discussing that this was far more than we wanted to spend, he discussed how he could give us some discounts that maybe would have gone to another job. We were very unclear on what he meant. After that, he presented a portfolio on the company, extolling the virtues of the family that owns and runs the company. He asked us to sign since February is a slow month and this price was only good now. He wanted 10% down. Horrible. We declined and just had our lovely countertops installed by another contractor. Total cost for the countertops was slightly over $5000. We were able to purchase a beautiful sink (additional cost) and our tiling will bring the grand total to with sink to just under $7000. Beware the hard sell.
Description of Work: We were looking to replace our old countertops and used Costco's home improvement referral. Kitchen Magic was the contractor sent to our home. The countertops quoted were Cambria with a standard porcelain tile backsplash.

Back in October when the KM salesman came to the house I was told by the salesman that the contractor 1) cleans up after himself every day, 2) all my appliance’s would be disconnected and cover, 3) I would have my kitchen back every evening, 4) all cutting would be done outside the house and 5) for us to have the new faucet ready so the counter top draftsman could measure out the location for the faucet since the slab was to be cut outside my home. I picked December 5th as my starting date based on the above information requesting the job be finished by the 16th. KM said not a problem I was given them plenty of time. About a week before my starting date the “team leader” from KM called to say that they weren’t starting my kitchen on the 5th because the contractor had a doctor’s appointment!! My husband and I both work and we put in for vacation time for this project. Taking turns with our days off and we needed the job started on the 5th and finished by the 16th. I explained this to the team leader and was basically told to suck it up and deal with it. At that point I sent an email to KM’s President & VP. My kitchen did end up starting on the 5th. We were never told that all the materials for the kitchen were to be delivered to my house prior to the job starting so therefore the material ended up being delivered the day the work started. Nor was I told that the material used to install the granite counter top had a horrible odor. I am in remission from Lymphoma and have to limit my exposure to chemicals. I didn’t know where to hide. My house smelled from top to bottom. Two days after the counter top installation I ended up in the doctors office suffering from headaches. The fellow who installed the tile back splash didn’t want to cover the granite counter top. I had to get my own tarp from my basement and cover the counter top and he did something to the electric so that when he left I had no fridge or power along the wall where the fridge was. My brother fixed that issue and KM did sent me $100 since my brother fixed the tile man’s error. I have to say the plumber was fantastic. The rest of the KM team should take a lesson from him. My kitchen was a work area between the cutting of materials for the cabinets and the drilling of a hole in my granite counter top for the faucet. My dishwasher was never disconnected nor covered. There was sawdust inside and out!! I didn't have a "working" kitchen. Sorry but I would not recommend Kitchen Magic to anyone. I already email Angies List w/pictures.

We are deeply sorry this customer had a less than magical experience. A kitchen project is a fairly big undertaking and yes, a construction project. While cabinet refacing is less of a mess than removing cabinets, it still requires preparation of the cabinet boxes to receive the new color veneer. We take every precaution to ensure the home is protected, as well as the homeowners. There will always be some dust during a construction project. This is inevitable. We typically place a sheathing between the project and the rest of the home to conceal dust as much as possible. We typically cover floors and countertops during other remodeling portions. If this was not done, we apologize. Also, our Installers are to clean up every night, leaving the work area clean of tools and debris. Regarding using your kitchen, without a countertop, use would be limited. We usually explain to homeowners that they will have limited use to their kitchen and should have a makeshift kitchen set up elsewhere with coffee pot, microwave and cutting board. A crock pot is helpful as well. It's typical to deliver the materials as close to the start of the installation as possible (prior). The same day would be because there was not a protected storage area, such as a garage to house the materials. The materials need to be on site prior to the project in order to begin. If you have any other concerns or need service, please do not hesitate to contact us (800) 237-0799. We understand that homeowners are entrusting us with their most valuable asset. Kitchen Magic does not take that trust lightly and adhering the utmost respect for the home as well as the homeowners. We hope you are in better health and wish you all the best. Sincerely, Your Kitchen Magic Family

It went very well, they did an excellent job. They used some subcontractors who were also excellent. I was very pleased with the craftsmanship the quality of the work, the cleanliness, and all of the logistics of the project. They even made some designer-type suggestions for the the clean look I wanted in my kitchen that I adopted.
Description of Work: They did a complete refacing of all my cabinets in the kitchen as well as install a new cabinet in the place of a charcoal grill that I didn't use. They installed a complete new backsplash, installed a new sink and insinkerator (garbage disposal), and installed new granite countertops.

They delivered and installed the wrong granite..lied about most interactions. Rude. Cost over $7000, and offered to return $750.00 . Would take no responsibility for the mistake, the granite is complete opposite of color I chose. Very upsetting to have to live with this putrid color in a room that I use to enjoy spending time in. We are senior citizens and saved our money for 3 years to have the work done b and we ended up with what we found out are considered artists. Also, found out they charged double of what this job should have cost. Very poor customer service.

Our old cabinets had been in place since well before we bought the house in 1992. They were a dark-stained wood and made the kitchen look dark and old. We decided to have a look at resurfacing. We had a couple of contacts with people who didn't really look very reliable in spite of their high price. We called Kitchen Magic based on reviews i read in Angie's List, and the salesman came to discuss the job and make suggestions. One of the suggestions was to replace the swing-door cabinets below the counter with deep, sliding drawers. This was pure genius, and really made optimum use of the space we had. This idea also enabled us to eliminate a large ceiling-hung cabinet that cut the room in two, so we had one large kitchen/dining room area. Finally he sat down to work up a price, and came up with a figure north of $24000. We wanted the work, but simply couldn't afford it. There was all sorts of hocus-pocus with "buy now" discounts that knocked the price down to about $22000. We thanked the guy and sent him on his way. A little more than a month later, he called back and said he was prepared to make a special offer. Suddenly the price for the whole kaboodle dropped to the high eighteens. We finally signed for just a bit under $19000. We had selected the color for the new facing, and the knobs to put on the drawers, etc, but the draughtsman they sent along spent 2-3 hours drawing up a plan for the work, in every minute detail. I was impressed by both his competence and his demeanor. He drew up a plan and a bill of materials for the entire job, down to the last tiny detail, and went over it with me, asking for my signature. We had heard friends' horror stories about contractors that come and tear the kitchen apart, and then take months to get the whole thing put back together Due to summer plans, we weren't able to schedule the work until August, almost two months later. The week before the work was scheduled to begin, a truck showed up with a complete 'kit' of all the materials need for the job, and the following Monday morning, the craftsman, Art, showed up to begin the work. I asked him how long it would take, and Art estimated one week. Art got to work immediately, and worked very long hours and with great precision on the job. Hw worked long hours removing the bits that needed to be replaced, and prepping the surfaces. One day that week he spent at home measuring and cutting the laminate. He worked really hard, and the one-week estimate he had given me turned out to be eight straight days, 10-12 hours a day. He was done by the following Monday afternoon. One of the replacement cabinets that they had sent wouldn't fit in the space allotted, because the wall was lath and plaster, and the cabinet that was sent was slightly too deep against the uneven wall. Art phoned the factory, and they re-fabricated a new cabinet which was delivered the next day! During that week and a few days following we were without a kitchen, until the granite guys showed up with our new countertops, the following Thursday. The two HUGE guys got the new granite in place, and cut out the holes where the sink and the glass cook top were to go. They were there for about 3-4 hours. After they were gone, I noticed that the seam between two of the slabs was uneven, so I called the designated project manager at Kitchen Magic. He gave me an appointment two days later, and a craftsman showed exactly as scheduled, and reset the seam so well that I couldn't find it anymore. The only work remaining to be done was the splash tiles along the wall over the countertop, and the craftsman showed up exactly on schedule, and did a great job. So all told, we got the job finished in about two weeks -- everything from soup to nuts. I must say that I was very impressed by Kitchen Magic's organization and efficiency. The whole project was overseen by Matt McInerny at their office, and everything was done with military precision. After a month or so of living with our new kitchen, we decided we wanted to have a pull-out trash can in a small cupboard next to the sink. I called the project manager, and he said "No problem, we'll take care of that." They shipped us the mechanism and sent out a craftsman to install it the following week. No charge. The only thing I can say was a slight glitch was the warranty for dry-treating the granite countertops. We had paid extra for this, and it has a 25-year stain warranty. In order to get the written warranty, I had to send numerous emails and make numerous phone calls, and it wasn't until December that I finally received the document in question. All's well that ends well.

Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your kind words. Installing a new kitchen is a labor intensive project. All Kitchen Magic employees are efficient and masters of their art. It takes a lot of effort and team work to install as many kitchens as we do. Making every customer a raving fan is our ultimate goal. We are happy to hear you love your new kitchen and glad we could come up with solutions to make the room more efficient, as well as meet your budget. The granite paperwork comes from a 3rd party that fabricates some of our stone. This would explain the delay, as we are relying on another company to satisfy that information. Thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy many happy years and make many happy memories in your new kitchen. Sincerely, Your Kitchen Magic Family

Little problem with installation; After completion, we went away for a week. During this time, unknown to us, when the installer pushed the refrigerator back into place, the icemaker feed crimped and started leaking water which ran into basement and ruined kitchen floor. Contractors insurance fixed everything but it was a real mess to come home to. Kitchen Magic is a firm that stands behind its work. They really do magic with a tired kitchen and very importantly, 5 years after the install, we called to mention one of the cabinets was coming undone, they showed up promptly and replaced it. They truly extend and honor a lifetime guarantee. A fine business to work with on all levels.

Couldn't be happier with Kitchen Magic. Every person that walked into my house was professional, on time, and eager to help and answer any questions. They carpenters worked with extreme efficiency and were very neat! They had to come back after the job was done for a minor repair but that was handled with the upmost professionalism as well. I received a call back within 24 hours and the someone was out here to assess the issue. They immediately ordered a new part and returned to install it. No questions asked! I would definitely recommend them and may use their sister company - Bathroom Magic in the future!!

Let me start by saying the people at Kitchen Magic are very friendly and kind. I have no issue with them at all. A lovely sales person came out and did all our measurements for a Cambria countertop. I had done previous research and knew a ballpark of where the price should be quoted. (3000-5000$ depending on the place) When all was said and done they gave me a quote of almost $9000. After I picked my jaw off the floor I explained that we weren't looking to spend that much. She told me how they were the best in the business, and knocked off a bunch of money for "discounts" that would only be included if we signed the contract today. We now had the price down to $6300 (still too much). We politely declined. We then went out the same day and signed a contract for the EXACT SAME PRODUCT from a REPUTABLE DEALER for $3000. They seem like very nice people, but the price was just insane!

I contacted Kitchen Magic about renovating my kitchen. A rep came out and spent a lot of time with me figuring out what I wanted and giving some advice and suggestions. The price was reasonable however they tried to pressure me in making a decision within 3 days or the discount would go away. They did give me an extention on the 3 days because they knew I had a meeting with another company coming up. They weren't able to do lighting, the backsplash, and I had to provide a plumber. In the end I went with another kitchen renovation company that could do everything I wanted done.

We were very satisfied. When a subsequent appliance installer damaged some of the finish, they readily agreed to come out and repair the damage.
Description of Work: They resurfaced all kitchen cabinets, replaced all doors and drawers in cabinets, added a long breakfast counter with large storage drawers and wine rack underneath, replaced all baseboards. They were extremely meticulous in measuring our kitchen, did the work in the time stated (after several weeks to craft everything in their shop ahead of time), which was 3 days. They cleaned up afterwards and when one measurement proved inaccurate (they missed an invisible U-shape in the floor), they quickly determined how to compensate and the finished product was beautiful.

KM was a pleasure to deal with. The sales pitch was a bit tedious, but the office staff and workers were professional and wonderful to deal with. The quality of the work was outstanding, and I would recommend them to ANYONE.
Description of Work: Kitchen Magic replaced our kitchen doors and drawer fronts and refaced our existing kitchen cabinets to match the new fronts.

I have to call them back, the plastic wipe at the bottom of the shower door is coming off. It has only been installed three months since installation. The old show door was 13 years old and I did not have this problem. Not satisfied with the quality of finish of the shower door. In addition the retention plate around the shower head just dangles on the shower pipe, I do not consider this professional. I just wonder if the president of Kitchen Magic would tolerate an installation like that. The new tile floor just outside of the shower squeaks at times. Never had that problem when it was a linoleum floor.
Description of Work: Refinished bathroom floor, shower, toilet, and counter top.

We are very sorry to see that this member has been having issues with his new bathroom. We certainly want to correct the problem. In our notes, we show that one of our inspectors came out to evaluate the problem, but the floor was not making a creaking sound when he tested it. We assured this customer that he should give us a call if the situation persisted, but have not heard anything more to date until reading this review. We have opened a service call for this member and are reaching out to schedule another visit. Thank you for your feedback, the entire Kitchen Magic Family
