Everything was great. They said what they said they would do when they said they'd do it. They were in and out in 2 days and my kitchen looks great! I would definitely use them again in the future!

The sales rep was very nice, punctual and professional. I thought the company however was way too expensive. He suggested laminate refacing with new cabinet doors for one side of the galley kitchen and new cabinets on the other, this is a very small kitchen and the estimate they gave was $15,000. That is not even in the realm of possibilities for me for such a small space. Its too bad they cant give you a ball park figure on the phone before coming so as not to waste anyone's time. But again, the rep himself was good but i will not be using this company.

Tremendous attention from salesman, easy to contact, always available to answer questions. Carpenter was great. Arrived on time and worked throughout the day. Cleaned up after himself. Completed job in two full days. Second day countertops were measured and within eight days granite tops were installed. Rather than causing me another weekend without plumbing, the plumber accommodated me with a saturday morning appointment. Installed my new faucet and instant hot water. The re-install of my disposal failed due to its age and plumber accommodated me while we got a new disposal and he installed. I did want a side splash that was recognized after the initial measurements. There wasn't enough granite to accommodate my needs; however Kitchen Magic promised that when appropriate slab is identified they will install at no extra cost. Overall experience was terrific. Tremendous professionalism throughout and everyone reported on time. I am extremely please and would not hesitate to refer.

Kitchen Magic pulled a fast one. They took my payment from a credit card...and they took my checking account # for a ACH wire. They double-dipped into my bank account over the contracted price. I had to fight to get my money back. They didn't care about me as a customer. I was just another number....and they moved on.
Description of Work: Kitchen Magic was contracted to remodel/reface my kitchen cabinets. The job was broken down into 3 categories, cabinet refacing, plumbing and countertop installation. This means that 3 or more contractors will have to do the job and each on their own time schedule. Which means that the the refacing-carpenter will rip out your plumbing on Day 1. In my case, he ripped out my plumbing on Day 1...then Day 5 the countertop guy shows up....but still you have NO plumbing. Here it is Day 10 and the plumber is not here. The only leverage I have is that the total contract payment has not been paid out yet, Although Kitchen Magic has been harassing me for full payment, yet the plumbing is ripped out by their refacing-carpenter. I warn anyone who uses Kitchen Magic in the future to negotiate your contract before you sign. Their Sales guy is a sweet talker. He will promise you things that can't hold up on the contract. THey will sweet talk you until you sign. They will even tell you that they will lock in your agreed pricing if you sign the contract. After 3 days you can't change your mind...you are locked into the contract. I say shop around before you use Kitchen Magic. Kitchen Magic has a warranty that is full of disclaimers. If the refacer does a shotty job - you have only one (1) year to make a claim. After one year you are stuck. They'll give you lifetime warranty on the materials but not the workmanship. BEWARE!!!When the refacer ripped out my plumbing, he also ripped my range hood off the wall and through it in the backyard damaging my newly design backyard turning it into a junkyard. He treated my beautifully decorated home like a Sanford and Son junkyard. They will NOT cart away the old cabinets...so they leave the debris in your home.. They have no respect for your home. Don't be fooled by the small number of satisfied customers. This is how it works. If you agree to give them a GOOD referral, they will do the things that they contracted to do for you. For example, they will clean the workarea and take out the debris if you sign an agreement that states that you will give them a sparkling referral.Like I said - don't let Kitchen Magic trample over you with the contract and your home. Don't be a victime.

Response from Kitchen Magic Inc
Two of the four topics referred to in the customer's complaint are items clearly stated in Kitchen Magic’s contract. Installation delay: Delay between our contract states the delay necessary between cabinet and countertop installation and the length of delay to expect. This is so that exact measurements for the fit countertop can be obtained, and this can only take place after the cabinet work is completed. Debris removal: Removal of jobsite debris is also an option expressly stated on our contract (customers often may opt for local township debris removal). In order for job debris to be removed by Kitchen Magic, our customer will need to have requested that option at the time of the signing of the contract. This service can also be added on while the work is in progress for a nominal fee. Regarding the remaining two issues raised: Referral incentive: Kitchen Magic representatives walk into a customer’s home and present FIVE THOUSAND-- current referrals (older referrals are removed from the list and we limit the number to 5,000) of customers who have voluntarily and enthusiastically offered or agreed to speak with potential customers about their experience with Kitchen Magic. By any measure, this referral list and the thousands of additional testimonials on our website (www.kitchenmagic.com/testimonials.aspx ) is in far more than ‘a few’. There is no incentive now--nor has there ever been--tied to our contract or services performed at any point over the three decades we have been in business. Our customers agree to be on our referral list via a check box on a satisfaction survey sent to them only AFTER their job had been completed. There is no ‘carrot’ for them to be added to our referral list or to send us written testimonials, which we receive in our office on a daily basis, only a job well done. Inappropriate payment processing: It would be inappropriate to detail information regarding a customer’s financial transaction a public forum, even in self defense. We can say only that the the information conveyed is utterly inaccurate. Our agreement with our customers clearly states the payment schedule and plan as a project progresses.

Kitchen Magic's District Manager, Joe LaReau, graciously scheduled a meeting in our home for fairly late in the evening to accommodate our schedules. He arrived precisely on time and reviewed various options from refacing to wholesale renovation of our kitchen. During our discussion, he served more as a consultant than a salesman. At no time did Joe pressure us, attempt to “upsell” us, or otherwise turn his presentation into an uncomfortable sales experience. Meeting with Joe was like having a pleasant conversation with an old friend in the kitchen remodeling business. By the end of our appointment, Joe had not only formulated an eminently appropriate game plan to update our kitchen, but had addressed some of our unique concerns about fitting a contemporary oven and cooktop into spaces designed for 1960s appliances. Those concerns were addressed by one of the company's Corian specialists enlarging our cooktop cutout, and the on-site carpenter restructuring our oven box. His sales pitch, after reviewing his very detailed quote, consisted of the simple question, “So, could we have the opportunity to serve you?” After a brief visit for blueprinting, we were given a start date for roughly three weeks later. Kitchen Magic's installer Richard C. Ryder – like Joe - arrived precisely on time. Rich was unfailingly professional and polite, and obviously extremely well-versed in his craft. He was more than happy to explain what we was doing and the reasoning behind the process, but otherwise worked industriously in the background. If it weren't for the sounds of his power tools, we would not have known that Rich was in the house. As Joe had promised, Rich worked consecutive days until the job was completed, but – even though he was going to return the very next morning – he cleaned up the work area every night. Rich showed an amazing level of concern for our kitchen – I think he worried about the renovation more than we did. He even planned to be present when Sears installed our new oven, so Rich could make sure the installation went smoothly and that the oven fit perfectly in the space allocated for it. When minor unexpected issues arose – like a rotten section of wood underneath the sink - Rich took care of them without hesitation or additional charge. When we had questions about the kitchen floor – an issue having absolutely nothing to do with our Kitchen Magic renovation – Rich actually consulted with one of his colleagues who specializes in tile floors to provide the answers we needed. Again – like with Joe – dealing with Rich was like having a highly professional, considerate family friend working for you, a friend we could trust completely. The job was done in five days and we could not be happier with the results. We have, from all appearances, a new kitchen for much less than half the cost of a traditional kitchen renovation. The quality of Rich's workmanship is impeccable, and the materials themselves – from the rock-solid doors to the heavy-duty hinges and other hardware – are obviously exceptional.
Description of Work: Kitchen Magic took the existing "skeleton" of our custom kitchen cabinets and refinished them, replacing all the drawers, doors and hardware in the process. They also re-cut the Corian countertop to accommodate a new gas cooktop and reframed the box for a new oven.

The worker assigned to us was punctual, a perfectionist and came on time every day. He cleaned up well after each day, and pointed out all the details of his work. He worked hard, was very proud of his work and was committed to excellence. He took the time to educate us on how to care for the refaced cabinets as well at the end of the job. The draftsman involved was also proactive. He pointed out some cabinet configurations that would work better and be better suited to the area of the kitchen they were in. The cabinet installer/refacer also made some adjustments to things that were better suited to the arrangement as well. Their insightfullness and consideration for our use of the new kitchen was impressive and we were very thankful for it. I am proud to show off Kitchen Magic's work and am very happy with the outcome. The job was finised in less than two weeks.

Kitchen Magic is very organized, and professional. A good experience from start to finish. My husband and I had researched the company, and we looked at home design web sites so we had a good idea of what we were looking for in terms of style and design. The salesman wasn't the 'hard sell' type, which is a big plus. However, he didn't have alot of samples with him. We signed the contract based on the samples of wood laminate and corian colors that he had with him. A few days later a contractor came to make the exact measurements, and he had more examples of laminate which we liked better, so he just changed the contract to reflect the change. We only had to wait a couple of weeks until our order was ready. We removed everything from our kitchen. The contractor came by himself, and worked two days to reface the cabinets. He was extremely personable and a hard worker. Very clean, and contientious. Another contractor came to make the exact measurements for the Corian countertop. It was tough not having our sink for over a week, but it was not unmanageable. The contractor hooked up our microwave and stove after the first day. I was concerned that the pile of debris from the old cabinets would be sitting by the side of our house for a long time - when the Kitchen Magic rep called us to schedule the installation of the countertop, she said she would make sure our debris was taken on the same day, and it was. The installation of the countertop went well. We previously had a double sink, and now have a smaller one - that's taking a little bit to get used to. The plumber came on the same day as the countertop installation and installed the new faucet and piping. The job, start to finish (including sales call) was finished in about 6 weeks. We seemed to benefit from having our work done after a long, difficult winter, and I don't think they were extremely busy. They completed everything on time, and everyone involved was a pleasure to work with. They have moved their main HQ to Nazarath, PA, but they hire local contractors to do most of the installation.
Description of Work: Cabinet re-facing using wood laminate. Countertop replacement using Corian. They also installed a large two-tier "Lazy Susan" for pots and pans. They installed a backsplash, and we contracted for a plumber to install the new faucet and hook up our dishwasher.

We have looked closely into this complaint, and found that errors were made and this was not handled to our standards whatsoever. The member of our staff confirming the Members appointment was unsure of whether we would be able to provide the service they were looking for, and put Member on hold to check on that. Once on hold, the call was disconnected. Our office did try, unsuccessfully, to call the Members back. As it turns out, we were not able to provide that service and the result was that the appointment was canceled our end, but the Members were not aware of that. Normally, in a case where we are unable to reach a customer by phone, an email would be sent trying to communicate. That email did not go out on a timely basis, and the Members expected our representative to visit them at the originally scheduled time. Everyone who was involved with this error has been made aware of it and directed how prevent a communication lapse like this from happening in the future. The day of the missed appointment, an owner of the company did speak with the Members to apologize to them. We respect everyone’s time, take our commitments very seriously and sincerely regret this inconvenience.

They are very expensive. They arrived on time for the appointment and they were very flexible with the timing. They wanted to come out as soon as possible. It seems like he walked in and he had his idea of what needed to be done, and that's not what we were looking for, we know what we want. It wasn't the best and I felt like he wasn't willing to work with us. He didn't give us an estimate on what we wanted, he gave us an estimate on what he thought we should have. I felt like he was really condescending at first, and I wouldn't have them do the work.

Response from Kitchen Magic Inc
Kitchen Magic appreciates constructive feedback. It helps us understand our customer’s needs as well as the needs of current market. Kitchen Magic offers cabinet refacing, new cabinetry or a combination of both. Cabinet refacing saves up to 50% over new cabinetry. If the cabinets are sturdy and the layout is staying the same, there is really no reason to tear out all the cabinets. There may be a misunderstanding as to what Kitchen Magic wants to sell and what is possibly in order to meet the customer’s budget. In the end, Kitchen Magic wants what is best for the customer and what the customer wants. This may be a combination of both refacing new cabinetry, saving the customer thousands in order purchase new appliances or upgrade to stone countertops. We are here to help and serve you, when you decide to remodel your kitchen. And we can satisfy your needs, whatever they may be. Thank you for your feedback. It is appreciated.
