Sam was excellent! He took time to fix things that were wrong with the original construction of the house, was pleasant and punctual. Sam went out of his way to make sure we got exactly what we needed and the results made our house look beautiful and updated! Can’t wait to have him back to finish the last few projects we have!

We are extremely happy with Sam's work. He transformed a "junk room" that had no heat, AC, plumbing, electric, into a half bath and pantry. He also remodeled our kitchen, installed appliances and laminate flooring. He was efficient and cost effective. We'll definitely use Sam for future projects.

Company owner, Sam Ferraro, took an empty room in our basement and turned it into one of the nicest bathrooms we could ever imagine. He was reliable, efficient, communicated extremely well with us throughout the project, and showed creativity in the design and layout of the bathroom. The cost of his services was within our budget, and we could not have been more satisfied with the work that he did for us. Without question, we would hire him again for projects on our home.

Sam did a great job installing my bar and liquor shelf. He matched up the wood color with my dining room table very nicely as well. It was just what I wanted. The work was done in a very timely manner. This is maybe the 5th or 6th job I’ve had Sam do ranging from a bar to removing a wall to a sub floor. He is a very nice guy and also very responsive.

Very well. Sam was quick to provide a quote, it was very reasonable, and he communicated throughout the entire project, including when he could save me money making some minor plan changes. He is my go-to for carpentry work in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Sam responded quickly to my initial inquiry and request for a quote. He was flexible with my timing and touched based periodically to see if I was ready to schedule. When he gave me a start date, he stuck to it and got right to work. During the time Sam was working on my bathroom renovation, he was professional, courteous, and friendly. He rolled with the punches when things came up during the course of the project (the quirks of an old house) and paid attention to the details. His work is excellent and the finished product has met and exceeded my expectations. He also stayed on track with his initial estimate of time to completion, which is essential when the project renders the only bathroom varying degrees of unusable for a period of time. The end result is that I have a beautiful new space with which I am extremely pleased and a contractor that I have already recommended to everyone I know.

Sam was responsive and punctual. He completed many improvements we needed to get our house ready for sale. Sam repaired a hole in our attic ceiling, he plastered and painted many walls, repaired a loose faucet, painted the front and back porch and applied dri lock to our entire basement. The price he charged for all of our work was very reasonable.

SJ Improvements (Sam) was immediately very responsive when I reached out to him for a job estimate. I found that refreshing. He came in and we discussed different projects I needed help with. He was courteous, professional, neat and worked hard to understand what my goals were for different areas. Sam worked with my busy schedule. He did a great job and most importantly worked hard to keep his work space as clean as possible. This showed the great respect he has for other people's property. I was able to carry on with life as he worked through the various weeks. I am excited to use SJ Improvements for my many home repair needs.

Sam was fantastic. He showed up on time and then proceeded to work until the job had been done properly; contractors like to say that they are focused on getting the job done "right," and Sam truly exemplifies this philosophy. He was focused on ensuring that everything was done to my satisfaction and that all of the details had been taken care of -- and he did this in a friendly, professional, and responsible manner. It is extremely difficult to find someone like Sam -- he's a real throw-back to good, honest, and quality work. I have worked with multiple contractors, and Sam is by far the best. I cannot recommend him more highly.

He followed up promptly each time we scheduled work. After each task was completed to my satisfaction, he cleaned up, removed debris and left my home clean Awesome job!!

I was on a tight timeline as the carpet installers were coming back within the week. Upon hearing my dilemma, Sam jumped into action and worked very diligently to install a complete subfloor in 2 bedrooms. The work was perfect and the floor is very sturdy now. This is the 2nd time I hired Sam, and I already have 2 more jobs planned for him in the future.

Sam did an excellent job. He moved both light fixtures up about 8" and patched the old holes with drywall. The quality of his work was top notch and he cleaned up everything after he was done. He is a very down to Earth guy as well. I plan to hire him for a number of other jobs in my new house.

Everything went very well. Walls look great, cannot tell were damaged. No mess at all.

He was very professional and completed the job in a timely manner with excellent results. He paid attention to details most would overlook. This impressed me since a lot of companies just want to get the job done quick, get their money and get out. This is not the case with SJ Improvements. It is clear Sam's No. 1 goal is to make his customer happy.

Well. The end product is different than imagined, but well done. SJ is by far the best drywall/carpentry that I have found in the New Kensington area!

Sam was great! Showed up on time and ready to get to work. Everything was done as promised for the price agreed upon. He even did some extra things without me even asking.
