Chris came out and gave us an estimate. He was supposed to do the repairs on 10/25, but never showed and didn't call until late in the day to say that he would be out the next day. I was told that no one had to be at home, but I am glad that I was home. A van full of foreigners showed up to do the work. The only one that spoke English was the foreman. My home has two (2) chimneys and I heard them working on the wrong one. I informed them that they were working on the wrong one, so they moved to the correct one. After only about 1/2 hour, I was told that they needed to go to Home Depot for material. They were gone for two (2) hours. When they finally came back, they only worked for about another 1/2 hour. At this point, Chris was with them. He told me that the work was complete, so I paid him. That evening when my husband looked at the work, he noticed that one of the slate shingles near where they were working was broken. Then we had heavy rain two days later. THE LEAK WAS STILL THERE! My husband called Chris on Thursday and was told that he would be at the house around noon on Friday. My husband took off work Friday afternoon to be there, but Chris never showed. My husband tried calling him several times and left several messages for him. He never returned the calls. I put a stop payment on the check. Now we have to hire someone else to do the work that was not done correctly, plus have a broken slate shingle repaired or replaced. I will never, ever do work with this contractor again or recommend him to anyone else!
