I phoned shortly after 8:00AM and explained that we had rented a drain cleaner with a cutting tip to remove tree roots from our pipe which runs from the house to the sewer line. We have done this in the past but this time there was a crack in the cable. The cable broke and when we withdrew it, a section of cable and the tip remained in the pipe. I said we wanted someone to come with a camera and to retrieve the cable. Our usual plumber had told us this was the appropriate solution (he is semi retired and no longer keeps certain equipment) and we also were able to see how this was done online. I was told that the "technician" would be here between 8:30 and 12:30. Somehow I missed their call at 10 but when I called back at 11:30 to apologize for that, they said that he would be here within an hour, that his prior job took longer than expected. Expecting them by 12:30 then, at 1:30 there was still nobody here. I called and they asked again some of the details, ie "is the cable stuck in there too , or just the tip? We want to make sure we sent the right person" I reiterated that yes, the cable was in there too , as I had told them this AM. Still the same situation. Around 2:00 the "technician" came, he appeared to have had no prior information of what I needed. He did not have a camera to look into the pipe with him. I explained to him what I had already explained on the phone, twice. He looked into our exterior vertical opening to the drain, then looked at the back yard, paused and said that we would have to dig. I have no idea what he based that on because he could not see anything. We had been able to flush toilets, run water, no back up. I was annoyed because he did not have the camera, he said he would make a few phone calls. While he did that, I called the main # and explained what was going on. They assured me that he had experience with that and if he said I needed to dig, I needed to dig. At that point, as I hung up, the tech came back and said that they would send someone with a camera tomorrow. I asked him how, looking into my vertical pipe, where he could see approximately 3 feet down, he determined that I would need "to dig" . His rely was " I'm not going to say anything more" I asked him to leave. I will never call them again. I believe that had we not spoke to our own plumber prior to calling them and had some information, we could have easily spent thousands of dollars to dig up our sewer line unnecessarily.

Great It was touch and go for some time, not because of what they did it was Allegheny County failing our sewer line and Lester the lead plumber worked his but off to get this done correctly. I could not be more happy with the professionalism, knowledge and workmanship. I had lots of bad news during the project but I never felt that we were not going to get to this done. I would hire them again at the drop of a hat. Thanks to Rory, Matt and Russ.

Arrived quickly, gave us a quote and stuck to it, even after a second plumber had to be summoned and the job took a number of hours.

Our sewer backed up on 11/3/15. RotoRooter was there within two hours and had our household systems back on line. Unfortunately there was water damage. One of their sales reps arrived while the plumber was still there and arranged for the restoration. He even assisted us by opening a claim with our insurance company. The restoration crew showed up promptly at 9AM on 11/4/15 and worked diligently removing all the damaged carpet an other material that was affected. Everything was cleaned and sanitized very well. The crew was courteous and very professional. Fans and dehumidifiers were left to complete the drying process. The machines were picked up on 11/7/15. We are completely satisfied with the results of the job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. If you need a quick and professional response, you will get it with this company.

Dan arrived at my house, on time and discussed the job. I wanted an outside faucet installed; there was an existing water line in the garage that could be extended. This meant drilling through the thick stone wall and placing a new valve/faucet outside. He conferred with me several times as the work progressed to make sure the height of the faucet outside was OK, that the line inside the garage was placed where I wanted it (not necessarily the easiest place to run the pipe, but where I wanted it to be placed). He finished the job quickly, cleaned up every speck of dust and disposed of all the old parts and debris. I was so pleased with the work I offered to pay more for the job than we agreed upon--he reluctantly accepted because I had already written out the check. I used to believe that Roto-Rooter strictly cleared drains; I was wrong, they do any and all plumbing jobs. I am very pleased with all the work they have done at my home and will use them in the future. I highly recommend this company. Their employees are polite, knowledgeable, and efficient.

Our Roto Rooter plumber, Andy, showed up at 8am Saturday morning. We had a horribly clogged kitchen sink. Andy checked everything out, only to find completely blocked/rotted pipes and some issue with the pipes connections in the wall causing additional problems. Luckily, Andy had all the necessary parts in his truck, disassembled, and replaced all of the pipes underneath our sink. He spent almost 2 hours getting it all put back together. He was polite, kind and explained all of the steps he was going through so we understood the problems at hand. After it was all completed, he made sure the kitchen was spotless again before he left. The price was a little higher then we expected but we were very happy with the work.

First of all, RR has a great answering service. The answering service thanked me for being a return customer, which I thought was a nice touch. I called about 9:45 PM and the dispatcher gave us a 4-hour window. The dispatcher remained in touch with us and contacted us a half hour prior to the plumber's arrival. Andrew "Drew" showed up at 12:30 AM. He was friendly - especially for it being an un-Godly hour - and pinpointed the problem quickly. Unfortunately, due to a night of intense storms, he had the heavier equipment on board his van and couldn't perform the job. He felt horrible. He promised there would be someone at our house first thing the next morning - and there was! The dispatcher called to give us a heads up, and then the dynamic duo of John and JT showed up. They were very efficient and unclogged the stack quickly. They answered any question my husband had and gave him some preventative tips to avoid future clogs. Thanks for the great service RR!

It went as smoothly as possible. Andrew (#2295) was on-time, kept the carpets clean, and was very personable. He diagnosed the problems, gave us a quote and completed the work for the quoted price. There was another task that he could have done and charged me for, but he was honest enough to tell me that it would be easy enough for me to do myself to save some money. I appreciated his professionalism and honesty. This is my second good experience with this company, so I do plan to continue to use them.

My mother has dementia and sometimes clogs the toilet no matter how hard I try to prevent this. But Roto-Rooter has always been punctual and professional and I have gotten the same plumber a few times. He recommended a type of toilet that is guaranteed not to clog and I am thinking about it. :)

We tried to do the work ourselves but were afraid to cause damage. Dave did the job quickly and easily and his confidence was reassuring to us since we had a significant leak from this sink recently. Perhaps most important, Dave showed up within an hour of calling Roto Rooter on a Sunday and therewere no charges for emergency or after-hours services. This wasa great experience for us and we know the job was done properly.

Our water line from the street but before was leaking, and we were trying to get an emergency service appointment. Well, the leak was noticed the day before around 1700. The gentleman that came about an hour and half later was very pleasant but had to go to a home improvement store for the part. The township water dept rep came also to shut water off at the house. After an hour, the guy came back and said that he couldn't find the part and would have to return in the AM. He assured me that it would be him returning in the morning around 930. I have a family of 5 so it was a long night without water. The next day, the service dispatch called and said that the guy was delayed and would be there around 1100. The service dept called again and stated that the guy couldnt come at all and would have to find another. The second plumber came around 1230-1300. He also looked at the leak and said he would have to go to the store for part. I asked if the first guy told him exactly what the issue was and what part was needed, but he said that the first guy didn't give the details. This also caused more delays and frustration, and the issue wasnt completed until several hours later. Two positives for this company was the contact by the dispatch center to keep us updated throughout the process. The other was that the plumber was very personable and professional, and the work was flawless. Unfortunately, the price was high. The part was only about $20, so the rest was labor. The plumbers are contract employees with Rotor-Rooter, so there may be a high overhead that they need to work under. So the truck says Rotor-Rooter on the side, but it's that specific plumbers truck and equipment. They get mileage but pay they're own insurance and liability I believe. But in the end, the plumber did great work, worked well with the township water department, and was very pleasant.

We were very happy with the services provided by Roto Rooters. They maintained the time they were to come, and fixed our problem efficiently. Before doing the work explained the process in detail. Very friendly and courteous and charges are reasonable. We are happy to have found Rooter Rooters for all our future plumbing needs.

They came and it took 3 hours for them to get here and to fix a pipe that burst. They did a good job though and I was pleased with the service.

I tried unplugging the line for about 2 hours my wife called Roto-Roter, they said a tech would arrive in 2 hours he was at my house in about 1 ½ hours. I explained what I had done and where I thought the clog was. After checking he agreed with me.The tech?s name was Ryan # 1187. He snaked the line and put the camera in the line. The clog was so bad he could not even get a clear view on the screen. He snaked it 2 more times and started to see the clog. I was amazed how much gunk was in the line. In the 20 foot line it had to be a 6 foot clog. We both thought he might have to use the Jet on the clog, but Ryan never gave up. Ryan worked on the clog for about 2 ½ hours flushing and snaking the line repeatedly. He saved me alought of money by not using the Jet. When he was done I was AMAZED at how clean the line was. Words cannot describe how bad the line looked, but he had it looking like the line had just been replaced. I was very impressed with his professionalism . Would I hire Roto-Roter again? YES!!!! Thanks Ryan outstanding job.

My only issue with the punctuality was that in the 4 hour service window the technician arrived with only 30 minutes to prepare an estimate and do a repair. But the woman who called to inform me of the time window was apologetic and thanked me for my patience, so they did acknowledge that it was a pain in the butt for me, and I appreciated that. So due to that late arrival, I was unable to have the repair done that day. However, the first man who gave the estimate was straight forward and honest, and didn't try to do any unnecessary repairs. He gave me an estimate, and the next morning Brooke, another technician, honored that estimate, and did the repair. This was not a complicated job but she did it perfectly. She was pleasant, punctual, professional and efficient. As a side note it is incredibly refreshing to have a female technician. It set me more at ease as a stay at home mother, and she was very easy to have in my home. I would hire roto rooter again, even though the estimate was pretty high. But they gotta make a living too. We just needed to get the job done quickly and well and they did that.

Very friendly and knowledgable technician (Ray), prompt service, however the tool Roto Rooter used to unclog the sewage line are subsized, just good enough to open up the line but not large enough to clean the line to prevent further clogging. Other plumbers use much heavier equipment. Purpose is to sell additional services such as replacing the sewer line. I was given an estimate about twice of what a local plumber had provided last year.

I called Roto-Rooter to fix a clogged toilet and they were able to have a representative come out within a couple of hours of my original call. Ozie Sparks was the service technician and he was great! He was able to fix the problem very quickly and efficiently. Ozie was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. He also was very considerate---he gladly wore protective booties in my home and was very thoughtful about making sure to clean his equipment before walking through my house. The price was a bit higher than I had expected for the job, but the quick response and great technician made the cost more worthwhile.

First, the Roto-Rooter dispatch service utilizes an actual human instead of an automated dispatch service, which was a pleasant surprise at 3:00 a.m. I received a notification call an hour prior to arrival. The technician was competent, professional, and pleasant. He did a quick assessment, worked patiently with my insurance, cleared my drain, and verified all my plumbing drains properly. The combination of technical expertise and excellent customer service at every point of contact means this Roto-Rooter franchise will get all my future plumbing business.

Tried to cancel first estimate appointment, after I had taken a 1/2 days vacation. But did show up an 1-1/2 hours late, after I complained. During the appointment I asked for a very specific make and model of the water closet. When they didn't show up for installation appointment window, 8 to 10, called, they tried to tell me it was a whenever they got to it type of appointment. When pressed they said they would pull the tape of the phone call when I made the appointment, and a manager would call with an explanation, they never did. Pretty much implied I was lying when I said I had made a specific appointment. Somebody shows up 6-1/2 hour late, (wasted a whole vacation day), with no knowledge of the job. The plumber who showed up was very pleasant, and did an ok job, not great but ok. I did not get the water closet I wanted, but that I did pay a premium for, but being so late in the day, at the end of my rope, and over a barrel fealt I had to just go with it. The plumber told me he was giving me a $400 discount on the labor, but the final bill was almost exactly the same as the original estimate.
