I’m assuming this company went out of business since I have not received a reply to my e-mails sent to them. Good riddance! I don’t recommend anyone use this company for electrical work. Prior to purchasing our house in October 2014, CRM Electrical Construction was hired by the owner to perform electrical work in agreeance with our closing contract. We retained the receipt provided to the previous owner dated September 17, 2104. The scope of the work required a FULL INSPECTION of the electrical system and that ALL faulty wiring and devices be replaced. We had a licensed electrician out in July 2016 to install a whole-home surge protector. During this installation, when he turned off two breakers, they sparked. He then investigated and discovered they were back-feeding: two separate breakers were supplying power via two separate lines to a single item, that being the light switches next to the front door. When the cover plate was removed, there were black marks from heat damage. Second, when we moved in, the light above the kitchen sink never worked and we could never figure out why. When the electrician arrived, immediately upon opening the panel box there was a wire not attached to its breaker. He fixed this and now the light works. Third, while working in the panel, he looked up and noticed that the line directly above him feeding upstairs to my son's bedroom and the upstairs hallway was BARE. The insulation around the wire was completely stripped away and the bare wire was touching wood. Fourth, the wiring to the hot water tank was incorrect and could have caused a fire. The wire from the breaker was 20 amps but was spliced inside a junction box to a 15 amp wire running to the hot water tank. Fifth, there is a ridiculously loud buzzing sound that comes from behind the light switches in the kitchen when they are turned on. The sound could also be heard in the call/speaker box for our door bell system. When the electrician removed the doorbell system, there were scorch marks on the wall behind the call box. This should have been addressed as testing and ensuring the safety of ALL devices was part of the requirements. The light switch still buzzes. It’s incredibly noticeable, and any electrician testing the entirety of the electrical systems in our house would have noticed it. To say I am irritated is putting it mildly as the double-fed device and the bare wire put my home at risk of fire. In your company's own words, "The residences electrical system is now in a safe, operable, code compliant condition." That, it was not. I have tried contacting this company for photographic evidence of work done immediately after the electrician I hire left in July 2016. Their receipt states we are welcome to request this at any time. They have not replied back and phone calls do not go through. I paid $800 to this other electrician to fix issues that should have been taken care of by CRM Electrical Construction.
Description of Work: Complete a FULL inspection of the electrical system and replace ALL faulty devices and wiring as part of a buyer/seller agreement before closing on our new home. We were the buyers. The work was contracted out by the seller.
