.He is a really good guy who is very knowledgeable. During the home inspection he used a special tool to tell us where heat was leaving the home. He knows all the good contractors in the area so we call him when we need work done. He has been very kind to provide us help above and beyond what we hired him for.

Michael Ashburn is an absolute professional. As a Real Estate agent, he has performed numerous home inspections for my clients as well as for myself! I have worked with various other home inspectors, and I can assure you that he is the best! My clients are always happy with his thoroughness, knowledge, professionalism and his willingness to educate the cutomer during the inspection. He is always willing to answer any questions or provide assistance where he can even after the inspections are complete!

He was actually our house inspector when we initially purchased this house in 2010. In 2010 I had used him as a home inspector and in 2011 I asked him back to check out what I thought was a mold issue at my basement. He was extremely knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. He was very thorough and completely trustworthy. I would absolutely want him back too.

He was very kind and flexible as our dates kept changing. He was very thorough and encouraged us to ask follow up questions as needed, which we have done. He caught problems we would have assumed were fine, such as a new paint job ... but need of new caulk around windows and doors which one would assume would be done by the painter. As a bonus, Michael gave us a "home owner's manual" explaining how are furnace worked, proper plumbing, etc. I heartily recommend Michael Ashburn.

He was great. He was very good. He was very informative and he explained things to me. For instance, when he was inspecting the furnace, he showed me where the little trouble spot was. Eventually I was going to have to get the furnace replaced. He gave me a manual that I thought was really good that he sent in the mail. That is going to be a good reference book for me. When certain things go wrong, I just have to go through that manual book and it explains a lot of things. That is very helpful. There was no additional cost; it was all included in the price. He was very accurate as far as getting back to the real estate lady; he was punctual. His price was moderate. I wanted a person that used a camera in the wall. The other companies that I had called had an additional fee if you want to use that. However, he had just one set price. I thought that he was very efficient.

My experience with Ashburn Inspections Company was terrible. The home inspector charged us $800 an hour but went through the inspection as quick as one can imagine. He missed a lot of things. He was recommended to us by our home owner. He was on time. I would never use his services again in the future.

Michael was very thorough and helpful to us in understanding our new home. He was quick and efficient, yet very detail-oriented.

The Inspector is the owner, Michael Ashburn. This was actually the third home inspection he had done for me in the past 6 months, the other 2 deals falling through for various reasons. Michael called ahead to let me know he was running 5 minutes late. He is very efficient, by which I mean fast and thorough. He had no problem with me walking around with him and hanging over his shoulder and would often pause to point out items he was planning on writing up. Mr. Ashburn is smaller in stature, and is therefore not slow to duck into a crawl space or jump into an attic. Great personality and very accommodating to his client. He does have an Infrared Camera, which is one powerful tool (I am a certified Infrared Thermographer myself) for checking moisture and missing insulation. He provides his handwritten notes to you before leaving the property and emails a typed report within 24 hours. He does not include photos in his report, which I wish he would (maybe there's a legal reason for this...). Overall a great experience working with Mr. Ashburn - recommended.

The guy who came out was our home inspector. I then called him for mold remediation and he does the testing, but he didn’t end up testing my dad’s house. I liked him. He is a great guy and he did a pretty good inspection of our house. He gave us lots of ideas for energy efficiency when he did our home inspection. He was easy to work with and he seemed knowledgeable about energy efficiency. There were some things he wasn’t totally knowledgeable about like some structural issues, but he did say that on his website. So maybe in that respect we should have hired someone else to look at those issues, but that was a very minor thing. I think that the price was reasonable. He was very good about getting right back to us. He was very punctual. I would use his services in the future too.

Michael and I had met on a job site where my company was doing work. As Michael was performing his Energy Audit and building inspection I was absolutely amazed at what he was doing. He was climbing into crawl spaces I didn't even know exsisted, in attics, in walls, under floors, on the roof, in the chimney basically anywhere that his eye could see he looked in or at. I've been in the construction industry for approx 35yrs and have NEVER seen anyone do an inspection and audit like Michael did and does. I talked to Michael and he was so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable in all fields of construction/buildings. I in turn then asked Michael to come to my house and do an Energy Audit and Home Inspection. All I can say is if you want to learn about the structure that you live in and cherish CALL MICHAEL NOW! After he was done I was in shock on how much heat was being wasted and how much money was going out with it. Michael went through with his inferred testing equipment and it looked like ghost busters all over the exterior of the house. Michael went through every part of the house and explained how to rectify every situation that was causing heat loss. As he was doing the Energy Audit he did a Home Inspection and found that my heat exchanges in the furnance were leaking and carbon monoxide was entering the house! Michael got on the phone called a HVAC contractor he knew and had the problem solved that quick without missing a beat. That in my opnion is customer service at its finest! My Painting Company which is top rated on Angies List prides itself on customer service and we met our match with Michael!!!!!!! Our house is NOW SAFE and SAVING MONEY since Michael did what he knows best, saving lives and saving money!!!! If you read this you need to hire Michael and no other, because simply, he sets a standard that NO ONE can or could keep up with! Thank you Michael for a service that "Exceeded our expectations"

As mentioned, this was a bank owned property. There was a lot of miscommunication between realtors and bank that caused a great deal of confusion. Not only did Mike come to do our inspection at the agreed upon time- but he returned on following days THREE times to complete the inspections needed because doors were locked and we had no access. Not once did he mention charging additional for it though he had to rework his schedule to do so. He was extremely good-natured about the process and even assured us it was nothing to worry about. After the fact, now that we own the house he has kept in contact with us and displays a genuine enthusiasm to know how our various projects are going. If I could give him better than an 'A' on the scoring chart I would do so.
