When we bought a multi-use building, which was part of a larger commercial building complex, we needed our own separate alarm system. The bids we received from several Pittsburgh alarm system companies were high priced, confusing, and not very clear. Additionally, none were willing to incorporate or update our existing equipment and old usable parts. There was one exception to our negative experience, a local company: ASA - Automated Security Alert Inc. ASA specializes not only in complex medical home alert and supervision systems ? but also installs home security systems (intrusion and fire). The director and designer of ASA Technical Operations inspected our property, listened carefully to our needs, and proposed a solution to our entire multiple and complex needs. The bid he provided included use of our current equipment and parts, only adding and replacing what would be needed for our purposes. The proposal was transparent and understandable, detailing what work would be done and the cost. It was on the low end of bids we had received. The bid also provided for two separate areas and several subareas to be armed with extra safety features, FOBs (wireless, general access, remote control key ring-devices that allow arming and disarming with the push of a button). The FOBs also have a personal alarm/panic button for personal emergencies. While installing the system, ASA wired the system for easy future expansions ? timed lighting, etc. The director and his assistants then installed the system, meticulously, thoughtfully, and carefully. The work was clean and looked beautiful. After the system was installed, it was tested and retested to make sure that it worked properly. They patiently and carefully demonstrated the user-friendly operation of the system and have been available for questions anytime we called. They provide impeccable customer service which is a rarity in today?s business world. Even though unexpected additional rewiring work was required due to mistakenly cut wires leading to the upper floors of the building by a cable provider?s technician, ASA stood behind its original bid. Shortly after the system was installed, it was accidentally triggered; ASA called us immediately while the fire-truck was on the way. I would give ASA more than 5 stars and would recommend them for whatever rewards you may have. This was an unusually pleasant experience.
