Description of Work: Roof replacement and soffit/fascia replacement. Chose a GAF architectural system and aluminum trim. I was not an easy customer for them because of scheduling conflicts and special circumstances that had to be considered, but Biniek's commitment to the job without sacrificing quality ended with us quite pleased! In our opinion, the results were stellar. Paul really IS concerned about his customers - it showed before, during, and after the job.

Paul Biniek provided materials for review of the job, prepared a written estimate and answered questions regarding the roofing project. Since a portion of the roof was being replaced as due to hail damage and covered by insurance, we reviewed those arrangements and he agreed to have contact with the insurance adjuster. We had a general idea of the installation period. but had not set any definitive installation schedule.. Paul called a day before to clear arrangements for an installation the next day. When that day arrived, the roofing team arrived about 8 a.m. A team of five (including Tom, the foreman) worked on various tasks of the repair throughout the day. Attention was given to reinstalling flashing at the chimney (including cutting into the mortar, repairing some sections of the substrate that were damaged close to the peak of the roof, and filling in the gap from the removed roof vent with plywood sheathing. The team worked well together, were all very active and tackling their assigned tasks throughout the day, and were ably directed by the foreman. Tom was willing to answer any questions we had regarding the steps to the process and extra work that was required for the repairs. The project was finished by the end of the day, and careful cleanup was done to get all the trash into the dump trailer. One of the team ran a wheeled magnet around the grounds to pick up any stray nails from the roof. The team was shy several pieces of edging to finish the job, and so promised that someone would be coming to finish those details on another day. I should note that the roofing material was part of the GAF system, and we were promised a 50 warranty on the shingles with a transferable non-pro-rated 25 year warranty to the next owner, should the our house be sold during that period. Some supplies were neatly stacked by the driveway. The final finishing work was done about a week later, when Paul stopped to inspect the job and insert the edging. The supplies were picked up shortly thereafter. Our final invoice included a small additional cost for plywood repair, which we thought was reasonable, given that this work was unexpected.

It went very well beginning with the estimator who provided us with a fair upfront price (without the back and forth with the boss to lower the price the other companies were pulling). The roofers arrived on time and worked their tails off and finished in two days. They protected our landscaping and other outside items and cleaned up completely when they were finished. Very professional company/crew. We would recommend Biniek Specialty to others who may be considering a roof replacement. We had bids that were higher than Biniek and they were for a lower grade shingle than we had Biniek install. Very happy with our new roof.

I was very happy with Biniek Specialty Contractors from start to finish. Paul was very professional when he looked at my roof and provided an estimate. The estimate was very detailed and he showed me samples of what materials he would use. He also gave me advice on which shingle would look best on my house. He was right and the final result looks great. He answered all my questions and always returned my phone calls and emails. BJ and the crew were on time and professional during the installation of the new roof. They cleaned up each day- nothing was left behind. I would highly recommend this company!

Biniek wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but I was convinced that they had the best value for money in materials that they used and the job they did. They worked with me to find a date that worked to do the work, and the crew that did the job were polite, considerate, and seemed competent. There was a small problem that I found after they left. I let them know, and it was fixed the next day.

After the Sandy Storm we noticed shingles from our roof laying around in the driveway. So did the insurance company because we got a letter from them indicating we had to repair the roof in order to renew our Homeowner's insurance. We saw Biniek signs at different houses in the area so called the company and scheduled an estimate. Paul Biniek himself came out and after inspecting, recommended we get a new roof. I was hesitant because of the cost, but Paul helped us open a claim with our insurance company. Not only that, he agreed to meet the adjustor here for me and my husband because I was unable to take off work and my husband is handicapped. After their meeting, the adjustor called me at work and agreed with Paul that the roof needed to be replaced. Minus our deductible, the insurance company mailed us a check for the amount of Paul's estimate. Paul continued to help us choose the best roof color for our house from his a nice assortment of shingles. As soon as we decided, his men dropped the trailer of supplies off on a Friday and Saturday morning before I was even out of bed, the crew was hard at work. They were incredible - working steady and then cleaning up all the debris after they were done. The whole roof was done in one day. When the roof was nearly done, Paul's employee (I guess the man in charge) informed me that our chimney was in bad shape, and they were unable to secure a permanent flashing for the roof/chimney. He said we needed to get the chimney repointed or rebuilt, and after we did, they would come out and put in a permanent flashing. They did a temporary flashing, but couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be any leaks. I appreciated the honesty. I immediately called Paul and got an estimate for the chimney. He said I didn't have to hire him to do the chimney when I wanted to get several estimates. Paul even went so far as to give me the name of a reputable mason. He said after the chimney was done, they would come back and do the flashing since it was included in the cost of the roof. I REALLY appreciated that. I am currently getting more estimates for the chimney job, but I am confident Paul will be out to do the flashing once the chimney is done. Paul Biniek is professional and has integrity - providing me with invaluable support through the whole process. I was amazed with both him and his crew. I would recommend his company to anyone. Our new roof is an RAF roof and has a lifetime guarantee - it will probably last longer that I will!! Don't be afraid to contact Biniek Specialty Contractors - I was glad I did.

I cannot compliment this company enough. I had roof damage from a bad hailstorm. My insurance company initially only allowed for repair of the roof. Mr. Biniek inspected the hail damage and determined that my roof had extensive damage requiring a new roof. Mr. Biniek described the damage he found to the insurance representative and worked with the insurance company for a complete roof replacement. I cannot express my gratitude enough for Mr. Biniek?s interface with the insurance company on my behalf. I was so satisfied with the quality of the roofing work that I had the company install patio doors for me as well. The professionalism of this company cannot be matched. I highly recommend them and would use them again for roofing and other work.

On Saturday 4/13/2013 I called Biniek Roofing about a leak in my roof. I had spotted wetness atop my blown in insulation in the attic crawlspace. I left a message and Paul returned my call within half an hour. With some luck paul was going to be close by on Monday 4/15/2013 and agreed to stop and take a look for a very reasonable price. I emailed him a photo of my shingles so he could match up the color as close as possible, per his request. On Monday he was early and wrapped up quickly. He replace the incorrectly installed boots and shingles around the pipe vents done by the previous roofer. He seemed very professional and knowledgeable. He informed me that whoever had done my roof had taken some shortcuts, and done some odd things, but that overall it looked very good and should be alright for some time. I was a little unsure as to whether or not that would completely fix my problem, because the cause of the leak inside the crawlspace was impossible to exactly pinpoint, but upon the last hard rain there were no wet spots on the crawlspace!

I contacted Paul Biniek to replace our old roof sections (wind and hail damage) because we had heard positive things. Paul communicated with me well about the options of replacement. He wasn't pushy and gave me price options, informed me about colors, and explained a lot about roofing possibilities. He even showed me a roof nearby to give us a sense of what a Seneca Shake roof really looked like. I know I may sound like an idiot but my husband and I had not thought of home insurance to help pay for any of our roof replacement. We just knew it needed replacing. Paul told me to call our insurance company. We called and had an adjuster here and a check that would cover part of the roof replacement (hail damage) within a week! With this financial help, we were able to get the standing seam roof we really wanted to match the other part of our house! As soon as we made up our minds, we let Paul know and within about 2 weeks we had a new roof! The Biniek workers were all friendly hard-working people that were respectful of our family and dogs. They put orange safety cones out along our road when all of their trucks were in our driveway. We live on a hill and curve on a state road so this was very important to me and I never had to say a thing. The workers explained what they were doing and picked up after themselves. They walked around the house every day they were here to pick up building debris. There were stacks of metal roofing and supplies in our driveway and I believe Biniek tried hard to get our job done efficiently so we were not without driveway space for long. We have limited parking as it is. An employee even helped fix my loud-sounding bathroom fan that had dust likely dropped into it from replacing the roof on the last day. I have no hesitation in recommending Biniek Specialty Contractors to anyone who want a roof put on properly and without hassle. Our roof looks wonderful and we won't have to do much to the beautiful metal roof for many years to come!
Description of Work: Biniek replaced a section of roof from shingles (that were falling off) to a new metal standing seam roof. They also replaced a very old, hail damaged section of metal roof to a new metal standing seam roof. This section of roof needed a new structure built underneath the metal roof so the new metal would be secure. Biniek had to rebuild most of this 'attic' and added wood supports and plywood where none was before. They hired a brick mason that specifically has been recommended to us before to repair a chimney before the new roof was put on. They also replaced a bathroom venting system that vents an upstairs bathroom through the standing seam.

Last year there was a lot of hail damage in Carlisle. We got our roof inspected by our insurance co and the work was approved. This has been my first time dealing with an insurance claim. I went through 3 roofers before I called Biniek. The others were just way too expensive or wouldn't return my calls. Paul came over took a look at the work needed, found additional damage that the adjuster and the others missed and gave me a full quote. I submitted it to my insurance and was approved. He walked me through the process and was professional at every step. The work was done and it looks fantastic!!! The products they use are top notch and the gold warranty is a great value Biniek was clean, prompt and efficient. I will definitely be calling them when I need anything else done.

We originally called a roofer a friend recommended and had a hard time getting him to give us a written estimate, let alone come out and even look the house and when he did he complained about the multiple pitches and the height of the house and that he wasn't going to truck bundles of shingles 3 stories in the summer. When we got the estimate it was $4000 over what the original estimate was. WE THEN CALLED BINIEK. We had a written estimate in less than a week and work was started within 2 weeks. They did a FABULOUS job. They re-flashed all of our vents perfectly which is difficult because our house is so old. They didn't rent a lift like the other roofer insisted that we do to spare them lugging the shingles up and that saved us a considerable amount of money. They worked quickly and carefully. We had a small awning that really needed to be re shingled but were weren't able to afford to include it with the roof. There were shingles left over and seeing that the awning needed new ones, they re shingled it in about 20 minutes without being asked. They did an excellent job of cleaning up and even saw that tar paper had floated down to our neighbor's porch during the dismantling they made sure they went over to sweep up any debris on her porch. I cringed when the first REALLY big rainstorm came. I ran from room to room where we had leaks before JUST WAITING for signs of leaks. NONE. We have had some INCREDIBLE storms this summer already and STILL have not had one problem. I appreciated the honesty, the fair price, the great job, the promptness and the willingness to go above and beyond what was written on paper.

This was work that came in and was accepted as a service call. When we receive a call for a small replacement job we only accept this work as a service call, meaning we will not provide a bid for work that is expected to come in at less than 500.00. We explain to the customer that our service call fee for a non-emergency situation is 125.00. This amount is to show up and review the problem. The other portion that is added to this is labor rate and materials. This is how we proceeded with the Milliken job. We completed the service call and associated repairs. The customer was notified by Paul Biniek Jr. before any repairs took place that his roof was in extremly poor condition and repairs would be hard to do because the entire roof needed to be replaced. The customer was also made aware that in a case such as this there is no guarantee on results due to the condition of the roof. He choose to have the work done at that time. We invoiced the customer and had no correspondence from him for a period of two months. At that time he was contacted via phone by Paul E. Biniek Jr. During the course of this call Mr. Biniek's integrity was insulted by the customer. This is somthing we at Biniek take very seriously. Things like honesty, integrity, and commitment to excellance. The total balance of the job was roughly 200.00. We normally would not pursue such a low balance by means of filing suit. We did however pursue in court due to the customer remarks to us and to others. The court ruled in our favor for the full amount we invoiced plus court costs. I find it interesting that while in court when he was asked to provide documentation of the other contractors invoice he failed to produce this evidence. Paul E. Biniek Jr.

The items as described by customer were not a part of our original scope of work. This is a 80+ year old roof we are talking about. The areas where problems are located are not even in a location where we performed work. We installed two new EPDM roofs and both are not having a problem. The total job cost was for EPDM roofs. The customers main roof where problems are located is a metal roof and completely past its life expectancy. Customer needs a new metal roof. We did 2500.00 dollars worth of work. It is unfair to post this negative review. We tried very hard to help the customer understand why and where the problem is located. After being notified by customer of a problem. We spent our time and cost to make sure it wasn't an area that we performed work on. I suppose this is just another reason why we as a company don't like to do anything but complete replacements. These are the kinds of issues encountered when spot replacing or repairing small areas of roofs that have had no maintainance for the last 50 years. I wish the customers that post these unwarranted negative reviews could post photos with there complaints! Submitted by, Paul E. Biniek Jr.
