GENE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE

I called four times during regular business hours over the course of a full week. Got the answering machine four times. Left two messages six days apart. No one ever called me back.

Prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable regarding the problem and repair. Gave us an estimated cost of the parts beforehand and the actual service call was reasonable. Would definitely recommend them.

I have used Gene's appliance repair in the past, and have always been very satisfied, so when my washer stopped spinning the clothes out, I called them again. I described the problem, and an appointment was set up. Early morning appointments are available, and he usually gets there when he says that he will. He was at my home at 7:00 am 2 days later, and had the necessary parts with him, even though my washer is a 1987 model. He quickly got it fixed and test ran it, and I didn't have to be late for work.

I called them and they were here the next day right on time. They charged me $20 for a service fee and said "We can't be bothered doing it, go out and buy a new stove." Obviously, they have more work or don't need the job or something. I am sure they are very capable for whatever they do, but don't waste my time and charge me for nothing. They would not have knocked the service charge off of the price if they were going to do it. It was a father and son and I found them very unprofessional with that attitude. I have used the father before, but the son wouldn't let the dad talk, he wouldn't let him get a word in. I told them goodbye and showed them the door since they were obviously not interested in working.

My refrigerator/freezer wasn't working properly and I needed someone to check it out. It was almost 6:00 pm when I started dialing phone numbers found in the yellow pages. After calling a number of appliance repair services and either having them not answer their phone or being directed to talk to their answering machine, which I refuse to do, a live person answered my call. She said that she could have a repairman in my home the next morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. At 8:10 the next morning she called and asked if they could come a little earlier than scheduled. Of course my answer was a big YES! Two polite and personable repairmen arrived within a half hour. They both collaborated on the problem and the course of action needed to solve the problem. One was a runner back and forth to the truck (for parts, etc.) and the other stayed working on the unit. They diagnosed the problem, completed the repair quickly and then cleaned up their work area. Efficient, neat and tidy! I couldn't have been more pleased with their competency and the price of their service call.
