We've used this company since we moved here over 22 years ago. They're very reliable and keep on top of when you need a delivery. They're very professional and very courteous. They have very good rates. They have very good payment plans. They offer you different options. If you prepay or do the budget plan, which is an 11 month plan, and then, the 12 month is like your catch up month. Either you owe or they refund you and you're locked into a price if you do it those ways. So, let's say the oil goes up, you're not going to go up. You're locked in. But if it goes down, they'll give you the lower price. We've looked for other rates and his are the best. They clean out the boiler every fall. They're just great people. We've never had a problem. The people that come out are great.

I told him that he was only supposed to remove the one thing so he called and found out that he was only supposed to remove that. After they took it all apart, they had to go back down and reassemble it. They didn't replace a rod in the water heater but I still got charged for it. They didn't come out and didn't come out. I finally said to just give me a credit for it. It took me months to get the credit but I finally got it. The experience was not very good. They did come out and do the work but they weren't supposed to take it all apart. There was miscommunication between them. The work they did was okay. Their responsiveness was terrible; it took forever for me to get hold of them. The job wasn’t done right and it wasn’t finished.

The experience until I realized that the UV light for the water filter is blinking and it is not supposed to be; I am still trying to get them to fix it almost a year later. They say the new system is supposed to blink and I said I don't have the new system I have the old system. They had someone come out and he said I was right; I did have the old system but they haven't fixed it yet. It is a big problem and it is still ongoing. Plus they set up my neighbor's system incorrectly and caused a short in his line. He had to have a plumber and an electrician both come in and his house almost caught fire. I will not use them again in the future.

Overall: I would not recommend this company. Their propane prices are out of control. I had to stop buying from them. This company use to be great prior to their sale to an outfit from the Midwest. They make you wait till late August before they publish their lock in oil purchase plan.

Yesterday our gas-fired on-demand tankless water heater shut down. We called our propane provider, H. John Davis, and reported the outage as we have a contractual agreement with them to monitor our fuel tank and keep it filled. They acknowledged their error and promised to send someone out immediately. I don?t know just when he arrived because he filled the tank and left without checking to see if everything was working. When we discovered, a few hours later, that we still had no hot water, we called again and the dispatcher said he would send someone over to check. When maintenance arrived they checked the unit, said we had a tripped circuit breaker and proceeded to write us a bill for $85.00. Color me dumb, but I didn?t think to check circuit breakers because we attributed the outage to the fact that the propane tank was allowed to run dry and assumed that the heater had to be reset. We feel the initial error was made by H. John Davis for not keeping our tank filled. We also believed the maintenance man should have checked with us after filling our tank to make sure everything was working. Further, when we called to say we still had no hot water, the dispatcher could have done a precursory trouble shoot over the phone to determine if the problem warranted sending out someone to check. Finally, we were not informed there would be an $85.00 service charge. All in all the service was lousy. Please warn others in this area that H. John Davis is sloppy in service to its customers, and indifferent to customer satisfaction. I wish we had known it sooner.
