The crew led by David did a phenomenal job. Paintwork included refinishing and painting aluminum siding, trim around entire house, doors & window frames, and basically renovating my carport/screened-in patio. The team was meticulous and professional and after about 7 days of work quite literally transformed my house. Also, the cost for the job was entirely reasonable. Thank you!

We hired David McDonnell of Jim McDonnell Contracting, Housepainting, PowerWashing in spring of 2020. The work was performed September through November 2020. The business was previously owned by his father. They are a Lancaster, PA based business. Doing business with David has been disappointing & frustrating, quite opposite of how we previously felt. David & crew left our house in early November 2020 after spending 3 months painting our 127 year old Victorian home. He said he would return to finish up painting touch ups—specifically on our front porch, back porch down spouts & a few other spots. Also he would bring back all of the unused paint to do further touch ups & reinstall the front porch light while here. Naturally I believed him. When the Thanksgiving holiday rolled around we heard from him again telling me that he would be coming back soon. That was David’s last word until he reached out again in February 2021 when he asked for a review on Angi and he had said again, “see you soon” indicating that he would once again be returning. We liked David, trusted him and he did nice work, so I gave him a very good online review. I continued to promote his business with his sign in our front yard until May when I finally gave up on seeing him again. I no longer believe David because that’s what I classify as lies, leading the customer to believe in something you obviously have no intent on providing. Additionally I have also been unable to find anyone in the region to fix the 2 roof roof tiles that John & Curtis(his crew) knocked loose when replacing a roofline trim board. They did not want to repair it & said better to get a roofer to repair. All roofing contractors contacted since it happened will not repair but only replace the entire roof costing in excess of $25k. During the past 8 months those loose roof tiles hanging there are now causing damage to our roof. There are no other roof issues, just 2 loose tiles. Very upsetting as it did not have to happen this way. The process has shown us that he & his crew are personable & do nice work, however they struggle with communication & being honest. They have proven that following up & having accountability doesn’t happen with these guys. If you do ever hire David make sure you get EVERYTHING done before you give him that final payment.

Fabulous! We needed our whole house painted after some other interior construction was done. The other contractors had major issues with delays, but David and his team were responsive and flexible and were still able to finish their job ahead of schedule. High quality work, good attention to detail, and a great team of workers. Will definitely hire them again when it’s time for other projects.

David and his team are amazing. We were left high and dry by another painter not even half way through the project. David jumped right in and did a fantastic job. They took extreme care in keeping areas clean and organized. We had two vaulted areas done as well as having wallpaper removed and painted. The results are amazing and we already have another list of things to have done ready to go. If you need painting these are the people to hire. A+.
