I was almost done packing hen I discovered that I was unable to obtain any more wardrobe boxes. I called Shelly Moving and they were able to deliver the boxes that day and didn't charge me any more than the box store.

I thought the estimate was high but we checked with several other companies and the price was the same if not a little cheaper. They were flexible on moving dates. They arrived close to on time the day of the move. They men were extremly nice and went above and beyond what they were asked to do. They helped disconnect the icemaker valve. They had to remove a cabinet in the laundry room to get the washer and dryer out of the room. They also moved things that were not on the list. The only reason I gave them a B on Professionalism and Quality was becuase of two mistakes. They damaged (small chunk) out of a hand made armoire and damaged some drywall. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect that if you make a mistake or damage something you tell me. The foreman was the major culpret. He was trying to hurry the guys and not let them do the things they wanted to do. I would probably use again. As I said the movers were awesome. Just tell me when you mess up.

The whole experience was great, from the estimate, to the move (which they did in a single day, 2 great guys and one small truck, to reimbursement for one item that was damaged. The office staff was happy to help and explained everything to both my mom and myself. They guys were clean, considerate and careful.

For a local move of furniture and two large appliances I contacted Shelly Moving and Storage on a Monday in March 2009. I was advised of weekday rates of $90/hour for a two-man crew with a minimum change per move of 1 hour of travel time and 3 hours of moving time for a minimum charge per weekday job of $360. I met with Dan, the estimator, two days later. He arrived at the location of the items to be moved as agreed, reviewed the items to be moved, explained the rates and the move, and provided an estimate. All was very professional. I scheduled the move for two days later and understood that there would be a confirmation phone call the next day. I emphasized the importance of predicability in the arrival of the crew at the site of the items, and Dan scheduled me as the first job of the day for the crew so as to accommodate my request. The next day I received a confirmation telephone call the estimator advised; the crew was projected to arrive to pick up the items between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. the next day. The crew arrived at 8:30 a.m. the next day, surveyed the items and site, and loaded up the items. We drove to the destination, where they unloaded the items without incident. The two movers were organized, polite, careful, efficient, and kept up a very steady, good pace. One box containing a computer was plopped on the floor a bit roughly for my liking, but in fairness I did not adequately label the box as containing a computer. The bill was exactly as estimated two days earlier. I was very pleased with the service provided. The office staff, the estimator, and the moving crew were all polite, efficient, and, in general, very professional.

Everybody was very nice and they sent someone out to give me an estimate very quickly. Dan gave me the estimate, which I thought was high, but they came highly recommended. He said they would be there first thing in the morning on the 19th. At 7:30 AM on the 19th, I got a call saying they would be there between 11:00 and noon because they were short-handed. I called to complain and was told that the other guys were at another job (I thought I was first thing in the morning). I asked for at least a reduction in the fee for my troubles and was told no. I said I wouldn't be able to recommend them to my friends and we hung up. A few minutes later Dan called me back to say that they would reduce the cost by $330. I still would have rather they come right at 8am, though. When the crew came, they were hard-working, very careful, and very nice. They took their time and did a really wonderful job. I'm really recommending Alex and his crew more than the sales force.
