They were really good. They kept an old air conditioner running very good until I sold the house. Price is average. I kept using them for their thoroughness. My first impression was very good. They provide a lot of things but I can only speak about their service and professionalism.

They provide a very good service. Their price is average. They are very good. I've had them for fifteen years. Usually, it's one worker. With the exception of one worker, it's been very good. He was okay, just a little arrogant. They have a large staff.

They are not cheap but they have a reputation for being honest and quality. I think they are as competitive and they can be for their pricing because you do get a better efficient unit that with other contractors with lower prices. My parents used them for 26 years before. I will use them for everything, plumbing heating and electrical. I went to work and I came home and it was installed and my electrical bills are like cut by 2/3. They left the area impeccable. It was like nobody was in the house. The performance had been above and beyond my expectations. I did huge renovations and I thought of everything I had done this was the best thing. They were on with scheduling, professionalism, quality, workmanship and responsive.
Description of Work: I got a new unit in the summer of 2015.

The technician, T.J. was very nice-very professional. He advised that, even though the thermostat was out of warranty ( I had purchased it in 2008), he did not feel that I needed a new one. I had already changed the batteries in the thermostat but TJ changed them and adjusted a bar inside. H thoroughly checked the furnace, changing g the air filter. He than asked me about getting my ducts cleaned-I had moved into my new house in 2004 and never had the ducts cleaned. I stated I was interested and was quoted a price that was more than fair. I am very pleased with their quality of service.

They went the extra mile. Get my oil from someone else, who told me to go back to Oliver heating because it was probably related to that (ultimately it wasn't). I was upset at first because Oliver was going to have to fit me in from 2 to 10PM that Friday, and I simply couldn't be there the whole time AND I was about to go out of town. They went out of their way to get someone there who found I had water damage to my capacitor - and it was sparking/burning. So grateful and will ALWAYS use them!!! Thanks Oliver Heating and Cooling. BTW - also good job on the air duct cleaning!

1 & 2 - We had a significant gas leak in our gas service line to the range. We called 911 and nine emergency vehicles showed up at 10:00 P.M. on a Saturday night from the police department, fire department, ambulance, etc. The emergency personnel got everyone out the house and called PECO. Peco arrived in ten minutes, identified the leak, and turned off our gas service to the house. Oliver's technician arrived promptly, had to move our kitchen gas range out from the wall in order to get to the section of pipe that was leaking gas within the wall. He then repaired or replaced the necessary pipe section and did a fast, clean, and professional lob. He also replaced the affected part in the gas heater (a $720 part that was totally covered by my great Oliver Service Contract). 3 & 4 - Three days later another Oliver technician arrived to install a new faucet in our laundry tub and replace our 14 year old leaking hot water heater. I was amazed that this job was done in about three hours by just one man, including taking away the old dirty rusting water heater and taking away all related piping and trash. He also thoroughly mopped our entire basement floor, leaving it much cleaner than it was when he arrived.
Description of Work: 1- fixed gas leak in gas service line to range. 2 - fixed gas leak in heater by replacing affected part. 3 - provided and installed new faucet in laundry tub. 4 - provided and installed new gas hot water heater.

Service call identified a small problem on new system and told I would be called to have repair. 10 days later no call. I scheduled 5-9pm repair arrived at 930. Wow. I thought Comcast was bad. Probably only showed up because I called the on call system.

Excellent. Dan L. of Oliver was very professional, responsive and patient in providing various options and models to replace our failing 25 year old AC and heating units. I contacted several other vendors but chose Oliver based many factors, including price. Oliver's written proposal was complete and detailed, providing information on warranties, payment plans and rebates. Dan had Oliver come out and add some complementary refrigerant to keep our old AC cooling until a new system could be installed. The installation occurred as scheduled and within the day. Time from start of project evaluation to new system up and running was less than 10 days. Dan followed up on site to make sure that everything was working satisfactorily and done to our complete satisfaction; he even recommended that they make a minor water piping change to make any future plumbing maintenance easier.

My AC stopped working right in the middle of a heat wave. I first contacted Horizon. Apparently, my evaporator coils had frozen (??). I wound up with a giant puddle of water in my basement surrounding the unit once it melted after it had seized. Water also ended up in the motor. After the Horizon tech told me I needed a new blower motor for my AC unit to the tune of $1900, I decided to get a second opinion to make sure I wasn't overpaying, or worse yet, paying for services I didn't need. I paid Horizon the $80 service fee for diagnosing my problem but opted not to have the work done. I contacted Oliver. They had a $90 service fee and gave me a window of 12 - 5 for the tech to arrive. The tech, Tony, arrived right at noon. He told me that the diagnostic work would actually by $170 due to the complex nature of my unit's set up. I was a little put off by that, but agreed to it nonetheless as I was willing to pay it if it meant potentially not having to spring for a new blower motor and the labor involved. He did tell me pretty much the same thing as the Horizon guy, however, he told me the motor still worked. He checked my refrigerant levels and drained whatever water he could from the motor and the drain line (?). That seemed to do the trick b/c he turned the air back on and it was working like new! He ended up only charging me for the original $90 quoted to me over the phone and basically just told me to keep an eye on a few specific things going forward. I couldn't have asked for a better result. Our problem was solved right then and there for $90 altogether. I'm most happy about the fact that I wasn't taken advantage of. I'm sure the tech could sense that I didn't know much about HVAC, but didn't capitalize on it. They could've made more money off of me if they really wanted to, but they were honest. In return, I will be using them for my HVAC needs going forward.

GAS LEAK from poor workmanship, dishonest warranty policy, and poor customer service: I have used Oliver for about 5 years consistently and can say the quality of service from this company has dropped significantly. The integrity of this company is disgraceful and their workmanship is life-threatening. We hired Oliver to install a water heater this year at a rental property. Tenants complained of a gas odor after installation was complete. PECO arrived at the property to assess the odor and found the gas supply to the water heater was improperly installed. The technician failed to use pipe dope on the threads creating a highly dangerous situation for our tenants Oliver was again hired to inspect a malfunctioning TX valve in our AC unit. Oliver replaced this TX valve less than two years ago under their "GOLD" Plan. According to their website, all labor and parts come with a 2 year warranty. Oliver refused to warrant the labor stating it is not covered because it is not considered "billable" labor. Billable or not, their claim that they stand by "ALL" labor with a two year warranty is a lie. They estimated $1400 in labor to install the part but agreed to install it if we renew our plan. Basically, their warranty is a scam used to lock you into their maintenance plans. I will be filing a claim with the BBB regarding this. Once the work was completed, they did not send an invoice and offered several different stories about why we didn't receive an invoice. It took us o ver a week of arguing and dealing with rude customer service reps to receive an invoice. How difficult is it to provide a customer with an invoice?

In short, it took Oliver 3.5 weeks just to provide an estimate on a $4,000 project. Having spent $25,000 on plumbing and A/C over the last 2 years, take my word: if you want good customer service and a competitive price, go with one of the local competitors (Adam, WM Henderson, etc.) because my experience is that they will provide better customer service and a better price. Even though Oliver is headquarters in my backyard, I've tried to work with them on multiple projects and they've fallen short in several ways every time. Read below for a summary of this project: I first contacted Oliver on June 24 to request a combined estimate for extending our baseboard heat into a new master bedroom and moving our ductless split system into that new space. An estimator came to our house on June 29. After examining the A/C system, he explained that he could not provide an estimate for baseboard heat and that a second estimator would need to visit. He was unable to come to our house until July 8 and explained that he could provide an estimate by July 11. Only July 14, I emailed both estimators and on July 15 and 16, called their office but still received no explanation for why the estimate was late and why it had taken OVER 3 WEEKS to get a response. I finally received an estimate for one part of the project on July 18 and for the second part on July 20 and the total was roughly double that of a local competitor.

I pay $872 a year and that includes the air conditioner, heating, plumbing, and electrical. When I place a call, it is the people that I ended up talking to initially. I think they have a customer service attitude issue. I have been using them for 10 years at least.
Description of Work: Oliver Heating is who I use. I have an annual contract. They were out here to replace my filters and check my air conditioning.

Very well. Since buying this home two years ago we've noticed that the A/C struggles to cool the house properly. The gentleman from Oliver did a full set of tests on the A/C unit and duct work and determined that nothing was really wrong with the equipment. He mentioned that it could be an issue with the mismatched duct work that the previous homeowner installed. He then asked if I had an attic fan and when I said I didn't know he actually went up in the attic for me and found that there was a fan there but the motor had burned out so the fan wasn't functioning. He took photos of the motor serial number and model with my iPhone so I would know what needed to be replaced. A few days later I bought a new attic fan motor and replaced it and now things seem to be working better when it comes to cooling the house. The gentleman from Oliver went way above and beyond what he needed to do and it was very much appreciated.

Description of Work: We have been using Oliver for a number of years for boiler maintanance and other plumbing services. We did not find them on Angie's list but I did want to review them to let all know how professional they are. I want to put in a review to express how efficient and responsive they were in a real emergency situation. We were having contracting work done on a new condo we bought. The original stove was still in the unit. The contractor advised us of a gas smell which eventually led to the entire building being evacuated. We were told by the fire company we had to have a plumber assess the issue and make recommendations. Oliver was out in a few hours, then came back in 2 days to install the required new stove. Tim came out both times and was professional yet friendly, timely and explained everything.

Oliver's quote on the EXACT same new water heater and oil burner ended up being a full $1,700 less than what Sila quoted me, so going with Oliver was a no-brainer. Admittedly it did take me a while to get Oliver to quote the same model number, as the original model that Oliver was quoting had actually been discontinued by the manufacturer (Bock) so Oliver had to do some leg work to find the newer model to match Sila. Once they did that, the significant price savings from them made the decision easy. Was initially very happy with their quality of work on the installation, however I realized about a week after installation that they hadn't properly tightened down the oil supply line into the burner and oil was leaking all over the floor of our basement utility room. I immediately called Oliver and they had someone here within two hours (around 10:00pm at night) to fix it and try to clean up all of the oil. A week later and the house still smells a bit like oil, but the leak is fixed and the odor is dissipating. Was so happy with their pricing and overall customer service that I just had them quote a new heating and cooling system for our house.

I have a stacked washer/dryer that can sometimes cause service aggravation and a reluctance to service them. I was kept updated by Frank, at Oliver ,about arrival time. The service people,Brent and Jim ,were professional, and did the job asked and cleaned up.Also explained to me what they had done. Cost is a relative issue, I accepted the price, glad to have the service completed. Appreciate that Oliver, again, as with my heating and plumbing needs ,stepped up to the plate.
