Overall the experience was very good. When our A/C unit stopped working I was tired of "guessing" what contractor to use so I finally decided to join Angie's List to take that uncertainly out of the way.I choose my contractor by their grade and also by the number of reports there were. I called them and they gave me the price over the phone and they made an appointment for the same day with a window of between 3PM - 10PM. The contractor called at 5:15 PM and said he would be here in 15 minutes. He arrived 15 minutes later. He was very nice and wiped his feet each time he came into the house as it was pouring rain outside.

Technician arrived on time and listened to everything I had to say. He did the proper checks and determined a course of action quickly. He had everything required to repair the unit in his truck.

Top notch firm, very pleasant experience, professional, punctual, answered all of my questions in a timely manner, great customer service before and after, high quality work and great people. I know from first hand experience its not easy finding a quality, trustworthy firm for this type of work, this one is a keeper. They've earned a customer for life after this experience.

They are really prompt. They always get back to you quickly. They are a little more expensive than some companies, but they are always really good. We have used them for a while, and we have always had good luck with them.

The appraisal was done in April, 2008 while I was purchasing the house. They were punctual about the visit and I was told the heater had many years left, and while it was old, would not need replacement soon. I was also informed that the previous owner had a service contract with Oliver which was transferable - so that was nice. During their first service visit that fall, of 2008, I was told that the heater was old and needed to be replaced. Wow, what a feeling of getting JUKED! Shame on me for not knowing more about heaters, but shame on them (the experts) for either 1) not knowing their job, or 2) being unprofessional and trying to sell me something I didn't need on their first service visit. Either way, I was NOT happy. I complained several times, but the accountant/bill collector lady just played dumb like she didn't understand my issue.

They were very prompt, quick, and friendly. Also, they have the same name as my son. However, in terms of pricing, you can do better. If you had an emergency issue, I'd think about them if say your lower-cost provider can't get there in time. They are certainly responsive, professional, know what they are doing, etc.

Very Professional, they arrived on time and ready to work, they did a quick inspection prior to commencing work and discussed what they would be doing and possible problems/difficulties. They then requoted the amount quoted for the job and upon my ok they commenced work. They were very efficient, and careful while moving large equipment though the house. At they end of the job they informed me as to what I should do to ensure the job completed satisfactory. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing work done on there duct system.

Both visits the gentlemen came on time and completed the jobs in a timely and efficient manner. I would recommend them, but did find them a bit pricier than other companies.

I have a contract with them. When I call, they show up. What I like is that they’ll give me a window, but the repair man will also call me when he’s about 15 or 20 minutes out, so I know when to expect him. Their repair man, when the weather is bad, he’ll wear booties in the house; so I don’t have to worry about my carpets getting all slumped up. I haven’t met one repair man there yet, that I’ve not liked as a person. I’ve felt very comfortable with their repair people. As a matter of fact, it looks like we might have to replace our heater and our air conditioner, and I’m not even going to shop around. They are going to do it. They did replace our heater in our garage and they did an excellent job.

I use Oliver Heating and Cooling for my two A/C units and am happy with their service. They recently expanded their business to include plumbing services, so I called them to replace two toilets in my house. The tech that I worked with - Mike - was really great. Talked with him on the phone prior to the install trying to determine the best approach - I had a toilet (both, actually) with a 14-inch rough in which required a decision about whether to buy a 14 inch or 12 inch toilet (having it sit out from the wall a few inches). Mike gave me good advice, and provided an option for them to purchase the toilet and deliver it on the day of the install. This was a GREAT option as I would have had a lot of difficulty purchasing and transporting these two heavy toilets and carrying them to the second floor for the install. It actually cost me about $450 per toilet for the purchase, delivery, install and removal of the old toilet. It would have cost me at least $300 to get a comparable toilet elsewhere and then I would have had to bring it home and carry it upstairs myself which would have been difficult. I was able to choose from two different brands - Viper or Gerber - and I chose the Gerber option. They had different colors and styles, but it was a standard style toilet. I have been using these now for about 3 months and they are the nicest toilets that I have ever had! Very high quality, very well made. I actually called them again recently to fix a leaking sink and replace my garbage disposal. Again, great experience. I would definitely recommend them based on my experiences.

Terrible. Have used this company before and found out that they charge people in center city more than they do in other areas of the city.

They were clearly and highly a very transparent and a very confident organization. I was the most impressed with them than with any other company. They were punctual and responsive. The information that they had was very complete. So far they have been good. I would use their services again in the future.

They are very professional. They do a nice job, and they are prompt. I would recommend them to others.

The service was explained when I called to set up the appointment and provided them information regarding the size of my house, vents, etc. I was quoted a price based on the information provided (minus the discount from a coupon) and informed that the price could vary based on the actual # of vents (i.e., a little higher if there more vents than the # I provided, a little lower if less vents). This helped explain the difference in costs (and the fine print) from some coupons for what appeared to be much cheaper air duct cleaning I'd seen in val-pak. They called to let me know they'd be a little late as they were stuck in some traffic due to a fire but were here shortly thereafter. The boys were pleasant and professional, they let me know what they'd be doing each step of the way and there was NO MESS left behind.

The work went very well. They were a friendly bunch of guys. They were on time. They got the work done as promised. It was cold out, so they brought us space heaters. They are excellent, and they provide good service.

I am writing this report to complain that Oliver plumbing would not service my neighborhood, despite that their on-call weekend emergency plumber said he could do so. I live in Philadelphia, and their service map on their website includes the whole 5-county area, with Philadelphia in red as "with exceptions." However, they service a geographic area MUCH bigger than Philadelphia, where most of the population served lives on the part of the map near Philadelphia. But they said that I am simply too far from where their plumbers live. These same plumbers will be happy to service customers who live 2 miles to the East of my house (19102), or 2 miles West (Upper Darby). Is that 5 extra minutes going to kill them? Is the problem parking? Is it that poor people live in Philadelphia? I don't know. But it doesn't seem reasonable.

Oliver's crew arrived on time, prepared my house well, performed the installation without incident, instructed me how to use the thermostat, and finished early. They were very professional and swift. Their estimate was not the lowest, but their advice was the best, and I felt I could trust their recommendations. I would definitely recommend them for HVAC services.

However, Oliver was quite professional throughout the service call. They even wore booties due to the snowy weather outside. We would certainly consider them for future work!

Oliver performed the most thorough inspection prior to giving an estimate for the job. Went great, we were only one day without heat. Oliver provided three space heaters which went well with our two. The workmen were very helpful finding the blown fuse when one was blown by one of the heaters.

They came to service my furnace which was never completed by the previous owners. Very professional and very prompt. Oliver even called a couple weeks after my visit to see how everything went and if I was satisfied with the service. Very professional.

Two years ago, Oliver performed a major group of electronic repairs on our furnace, including checking the thermostat, for around $1900,. The next fall, we had a problem with the heater. They came and checked the system and told me that the thermostat was wired incorrectly. They fixed the problem. To their credit, they did not complain when I wrote on the service ticket that I would not pay since they were fixing their own work from the year before. (I do pay an annual contract fee.) We had a problem when we started the furnace again this year. A technician came and told me that the thermostat was wired incorrectly. (Huh?) This time he wanted to replace it with one that they sold for $700. I asked him to leave and, again, refused to pay for a visit since the diagnosis given was that their own work from previous years was incorrect. After the technician left, I put two new AA batteries in the thermostat. (Cost: 48 cents) Problem fixed! Saved $699.52 compared to their estimate. Wouldn't you think they would check the batteries? The reason I give them an overall 'C', rather than an 'F', is that they had done other good work for us and accepted that I would not pay for correcting their own work.

The crew showed up on time, performed the job with minimal disruption and cleaned after after the job was done.

It was twice the price of the other bids! They were nice and professional; some of the best service I received while he was at my home. However, I wouldn?t pay that price.

They call before they come to let know that they are coming. They are very efficient.

They are more expensive than most, but you are paying for piece of mind. They took extra care to measure everything and get the right unit in the first time. Other estimates would have been a disaster because they did not measure properly. The heating unit was not turning on when weather got cold, they came out on a Saturday afternoon, no questions asked and took care of it.
