Quick response, great professionalism, price ok

The job went very well. They installed the heating system we wanted. It is a fairly new technology. Some of the other people we got quotes from said that they would look at that and they would come back and didn’t want to really do what we wanted. It is a super high efficiency, 95.9% efficient boiler. It is a one unit that does heat and hot water in the house. They were very professional. They gave us a quote which was high but it was worth it. They did what they said. Once the day was set, they were on schedule and things like that. The house didn’t have gas before, so they also ran a new gas line through the house. They connected the gas stove and did a lot of work. The price was high. We would use them again in the future.

They arrived promptly and worked on the problem. When they couldn't fix it, they continued to work on it over many days with various technicians. Finally, they solved the problem, which had been caused by a crushed inflow duct. They believed that it had probably been caused by a technician on a previous maintenance visit and therefore didn't charge us for the service. The various technicians were always polite and worked diligently even in the cramped space of our attic.

We have been using their for about 15 years. They found out the heat pump needed replaced, but it will still under warranty and we didn’t have to pay anything. They are very trustworthy, friendly, and have don’t great service so far at taking care of our heat pump.

On Monday 2/272011 Oliver Heating and A/c had a scheduled furnace maintenance appointment that afternoon. The first maintenance person came out did what he needed to do and told my husband that they needed to call in another specialist to determine if the carbon monoxide levels were too high or not and whether it could be repaired. That evening around 6:30 pm the second service man arrived and did further testing and came back with the bad news... there was a leak and the furnace needed to be shut down. It would probably cost $1500 for a repair, but we might want to consider a replacement since the furnace was 17+ years old. He told us he would contact the sales people that night and they would call to set up an appointment if that was the way we were going to go. On Tuesday morning - an appointment was made for a project manager to come out that evening. Dan Lippin the nicest, most easy going project manager that we have ever had the pleasure to speak with arrived around 5:30pm as arranged. In fact I would have to say that all of the Oliver employees that we have had contact with over the past 15 years are polite, well spoken and easy to talk to. Dan went over various products after he went in the basement and outside and took some measurements outside. Since our air conditioner is the same age as our furnace, we decided that we would do both at once and move the a/c unit to the side of the house from the back where it was. Dan told us that there was a team ready to begin work the next day, because the furnace was shut down by them that they were on call for a situation like this. We agreed on a system and price and off we went to the installation part - Precisely at 8AM on Wednesday morning two servicemen from Oliver rang the doorbell. A third installer arrived at some time after I went to work, leaving my husband to deal the activities of the day. I made periodic calls throughout the day to see how things were going, my husband had nothing alarming to tell me, so everything went smoothly as far as we knew. They removed the furnace - installed the new furnace - removed the A/C unit and installed the new A/c unit on the side of the house and were done, cleaned up and out by 5PM that night - That night we received a call from David Oliver - checking to make sure everything was done and that there were no problems. There ARE no problems with the new system and if there are - we will be calling Oliver Heating and A/C to check into it. We would recommend Oliver to everyone that requires heating and cooling services, they are the best! Thanks guys!

Representative came for geothermal installation estimate and then he didn't follow up and did not return my calls for weeks. Just wasted my time. I did tell you start to finish. If you want feed back please make it work better and not waste my precious work time. Thank you

Oliver installed a new heating unti and coil due to a screw up from our warranty company. The work was great but the interest in working with customers was ok. They were not that responsive and forgot to install a critcal part which ended up costing us another $500 after the fact. Hard to know how you install a brand new unit and forget to upgrade the exahust fan. If I could find a smaller shop with good quality I would go there first since they are clearing more interested in larger jobs.

They are very timely, they do things when they say they will, their prices are good, and a warranty you can't beat. After the first year if you don't like their system they will remove it and give you your money back.

Men arrived on time. They wore booties and were very polite. The results were great, our ducts are spotless.

Called to get an estimate on annual maintenance on separate oil-fired home heater & hot water boiler units. The person on the phone had trouble understanding the concepts, called me back later, confirmed a price. When the maintenance person showed up, he only performed maintenance on the heater, not the boiler. When asked he said that would cost extra. Paying for both units was clearly out of the usual price range, and I had already gone through some trouble to make clear that these are two separate units. Also, last week the heat wasn't working, and I quickly discovered that one of the pumps had seized up. It ran again after I put some oil in a hole on its side marked in big letters "OIL HERE" which was apparently missed during maintenance.

My husband is the one who usually interacts with them and he is pretty happy with them. My husband hired them and he makes sure the AC is serviced and everything is cleaned out. He had that done and he was here with the guy talking to them. They seemed to do a good job and they were really very quick. I was surprised it didn’t take them too long. They were really affordable and I really don’t know. I never compared and I don’t know what the going rate is for such a job. I thought it would take a long time and it would be really intrusive but it wasn’t. My husband chose them and I know how he works. He really researches everything. When he buys an appliance he goes through consumer reports and everything. He probably read some things on Angie’s List and asked some people and that’s how he operates. I guess that’s how he looked up Oliver. They did a good job. The quality was good and their responsiveness wad good. They were really good with timings. My husband is good at getting a bang for his buck and so I am sure the price was good. If you are willing to pay for quality then it was the best deal. They were really good with their punctuality and that was one of the things I noticed. They were here when they said they were going to be here. By the time I came back they were leaving and they were very friendly and cordial and all the things you expect them to be.

Called them for emergency service because my heater would not run. They scheduled a service call for later in the day and the serviceman showed up within the window they gave me. I watched as he did the work because I wanted to be present in case he needed something and I was very impressed with his knowledge, skill, thoroughness and friendliness. He didn't seem to mind that I was looking on - some service people don't like to be watched. I had several questions as the work progressed and he answered all of them thoroughly. He explained the diagnosis and what I should do in the future if the problem recurs. When he left I had lots of heat and significantly more knowledge about my heating system (which is oil-fired hot water.) I have been in my house 33 years and had numerous different repair people come in and he is by far the very best . Oliver is a bit more expensive than their competitors but they are definitely worth the money.No heat on a cold December day.

Their service has always been excellent. Most recently they determined that our ancient furnace was producing dangerous CO gas. Their response to the crisis was excellent.

Estimate and communication about it was handled professionally. The day of the installation they arrived on time. The installation went smoothly. We are pleased with the outcome and will use Oliver again. Will also try their plumbing department.

Dan Lippin with Oliver Heating and Cooling was a late entry into our pricing/bid process to replace our 22 year old HVAC system. He came to our residence and delivered a superior bid experience... the ideal sweet spot for the price of the project. Dan provided a load test that targeted the best solution for our vertical footprint. The other three bidders did not. We settled on a Lennox 96% solution. He also made sure we got the maximum rebates & tax credits available. Angie's List was the place we found Oliver... and the company's excellent ratings across the board were well-earned. On time and professional with good information... I would recommend them to anyone seeking to update their older, more inefficient system with a 96% high efficiency furnace/A/C. Thank you, Dan. The job went great . They repaired our Air conditioner and suggested that we think about a new system since ours was close to 14 years old and was undersized for the house (we knew that.) So they gave us a discount on the new since we had already done the repair. And the new system is great - house is cooler, heater looks beautiful (haven't needed it yet) . Energy Efficiency is better. And they removed all the old stuff and put in the new system in a day. Salesperson did a nice job of laying out options clearly and letting us choose. Followed up well with promised information. Crew was efficent, neat and polite.

We have used this company since we moved into our home in 2006. Rodney has always been patient, kind and VERY knowledgable in his field. On more than one occasion, he has come to our home to give me his advice on different projects that we are thinking about (generator, outdoor lighting, new recessed lighting, etc) and he has never charged me for his time....even though, to date, we have held off on a number of projects. I always recommend him to friends because of this. The work that he HAS done on my home has been perfect...we have had no issues with things not working, breaking, etc. And, I feel confident that, even if we did, he would be here in a second making things right. He is a little hard to get a hold of...especially as the market has picked up and I suspect he is way busier, but I never have to call more than twice. Excellent service!

The installers were very professional, courteous, and efficient and the system is working well. We may have been able to save a few $ by going elsewhere, but we remain very impressed by this company and expect that they'll stand behind their work if there is ever an issue. Money well spent given the importance of HVAC to our home.

We had received estimates from two other companies and Oliver was right in line with both. They were willing to help us research the best fit for our house and also to qualify for the maximum rebates. Work was completed in a timely manner and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Oliver did a great job and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

Servicemen arrived promptly and were very professional. Job was to clean dryer vent and A/C air ducts. I'm sure vent cleaner was fine but air duct work was not performed because they could not get the equipment into the attic of the house. Just a heads up to ask about that if you use this service in the future.

I was pleased with the service I received. The crew came out the morning after my call, got right to work, fully explained what they had done and left the house clean. No complaints - would recommend and use again.

Oliver installation crew arrived on time at 730am and began the removal / installation of new oil furnace and a/c units. This was a big job, but they completed the installation, checkout of the new system, explained how to operate the new programmable thermostat and cleaned up the basement area probably neater than when they arrived. in addition, their installation mgr/salesman helped with PECO rebate forms, and ready to answer any questions you have. They finished the job as promised in one day, replacing my 20+ year old system with new more energy efficient unit!

We found them on Angie's list. They have a great Angie's list rating. The price was excellent. They did a very good job. They came when they said they were going to come. They were terrific. We were happy. The job manager was very good at communicating with us, and letting us know what was going on. They were very responsive, and did a great job. The guys who came out were very professional.
