Oliver Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, & Electrical

Oliver was a good company. I used them for yearly contract maintainance for 8 or more years. They responded to emergencies and were very professional when they came to the house. It was just their price gouging. I even checked salaries of workers and they are equal to the company I use now. As they were reliable I asked them to come to give an estimate on the new AC system. They estimated far more and told me that more vents could not be put in upstairs to increase cooling. The second company came in, manged two new outflow vents and charged about 9,000.

We received estimates from 3 companies and Dan Lippin from Oliver was by far the most professional. He answered all of our questions and followed through very well. Installers did a great job. We are very pleased with our new units

They have a great attitude. They put "booties" on to protect our carpet.

The men who came to work on it did it for three days. They did a great job. They were very professional. The salesman was very great to work with.

They did a great job. Our AC unit was reinstalled by another company who supplied us with a new heating unit. We had never had issues with the AC unit until the heater was replaced...afterward the coil would continually freeze up and we couldn't keep the temp below 85 degrees. The other company was telling us it was an oversized unit, but the specs on the new heater said the blower could handle an AC that size. Oliver came out, tested the unit, and told us there was a metal fin that the other company failed to install inside the plenum that would redirect the air and keep the coil from freezing. The cost they gave to install the missing fin was a tiny fraction in cost compared to the other company's only solution, which was to replace the unit. So glad we called Oliver.

I got a quote to replace/repair my ductwork. They were responsive, and quickly scheduled an appointment. They arrived on time, and gave me the quote a few days later. It came in similarly to 2 other quotes I got. Ultimately, I decided not to do the work and I plan to replace the entire system when it fails.

I selected them on the basis of positive statements from Angie's list and BBB. To be honest, most inquiries of companies I made of Angie's List and BBB were not useful as they only contained a statement of the absence of complaints. In the case of Oliver, positive statements were found....very unusual. I telephoned an inquiry...the receptionist was able to give me a "ball-park" estimate of what I was seeking based on a recent installation ast another customer. The price was in the range of what I expected based on my search of the literature and inquiries of professional electricians and friends familiar with this type of equipment. I arranged for an estimate and a Master Electrician was sent to my home to listen to my desires, assess my existing property, discuss available equipment. Two days later I was given a written estimate via e-mail specific to my job. It was acceptable and I arranged for installation. They accepted a 1/3 down payment, ordered the equipment, gave me an estimate of when they thought equipment would arrive although much of the equipement is in demand. Their estimate was exact....1 month to the day. The product was installed but their was a defect in the shipped equipment not related to Oliver. The manufactured of the generator delivered a dented/scratched door. Oliver recommended installation and they already re-ordered a replacement door (no problem). They estimated installation would take approximately 10 hours. After 8 hours, everything was installed....however, they found another defect on the switching box (which senses loss of PECO power and activates the whole house backup generator. There were two "lugs" missing on the deliveredbox which had to be procured from the manufacturer in order to transfer our power line from the "street to the house" to the"street to the box" switching box. To connect otherwise was not possible because of risk to arcing. Oliver, said they would need two days to procure the lugs....everything else was installed neatly and completely. They are due to return Monday, June 4 for work which should take no more than 4 hours and probably less. So far, I am more than satisfied with the quality and thoroughness ofthe job. I am glad I selected Oliver to do the work.

They have been taking care of my heating and cooling for the past few years. They do very good work and their prices are fair.

I 'll wait to see how they are going to solve the problem and write another review.

While we did not use Oliver, it was only due to circumstances during the process of obtaining estimates, as we eventually learned the service we were receiving an estimate for was not required. However, had we proceeded we are rather certain we would of selected Oliver. When they came to our home, we found them to be extremely thorough and professional...taking the time to explain and answer all of our questions and concerns.We had received a number of estimates, and while Oliver was certainly not the least expensive we were going to select them due mainly to the manner in which they presented and explained how they were going to proceed and why. I also received a follow up voicemail from the owner to make certain that his representative had answered all of our concerns and to thank us for the opportunity...extremely considerate in every aspect.

I paid under $500 with the discount for all of my ducts. They were fine. At the same time that I was having my ducts cleaned, I had them do a tune-up for my a/c unit, and the air duct guys were actually fine, professional, and polite. Their price was kind of expensive. I had a bad experience with their a/c guy and that is the reason I don’t want to deal with that company anymore.

I received bids from three Angie's list contractors. I selected Oliver because of the expertise of their salesperson, the recommended equipment, the 10 year warranty, and the competitive pricing.The Township representative called me and said they had had some difficulties with Oliver getting permits. I called the Oliver owner and this was resolved promptly (some miscommunications between the parties). Oliver scheduled the installation date with me and the technicians arrived on time as promised. Three techs worked the entire day to install hot water heater and HVAC. They did excellent work. The equipment works well, the area is neat; the techs made good suggestions, were professional, respectful. The utility sink was installed three days later and looks great. I may have to install an additional valve, but overall a very neat, professional job that I am happy to have done. The plumber was very good and I would definitely recommend all of the Oliver employees who worked at my house.

The work went very well with no surprises. Job professionally done. I would not hesitate to use their service for electrical repairs. I have been using them to maintain my home's boiler and will continue to do so.

The quality of the inspection was excellent. I accepted their bid of $1,100.00 and they will be doing the work.

Service was quick from estimate to replacement. Very professional. Estimate was right on point.

My air conditioner was blowing out hot air. I needed a new component for it. the technician found the problem right away and replaced the part. He also gave it a complete service charge. I felt that their price was very reasonable for their service and time.

They were nice, polite, cleaned up, and did everything they were supposed to. Everything works great and they were thorough.

The company was very prompt. I called them at 11:00 AM and by 4:00 PM they had located the right replacement water heater, sent two people to my house, and removed and replaced the old water heater that had sprung a leak. Initially I though that the price might have been a bit high but I subsequently determined that the wholesale cost of a through the wall forced air ventilation gas water heater was about $1,400.00 so the final installed cost of $1,600.00 was very reasonable. Especially considering that the installation included a new air vent piping system because the old installation was no longer in compliance with code. After all that, the company forgot to bill me. After waiting three weeks I reminded them of their oversight and paid them.

I was generally happy with the outcome. There were some problems and they hung in there and took care of it. The quality of their work was good.

They are very professional, and they all were uniforms. They are also very reasonable priced.

Daughter is a member of Angie's list and showed me this contractor received estimate and approved of price,thay showed up on time and completed the job in one day.cleaned up all trash and did a great job I would recommend them to all.

Price came in much better than another competitor, and a salesman who gave you details that gave you confidence he knew his product, and what I needed. Installation was on time, and this type of system is a real money saver in a moderate climate region. I go through much less oil, even in the 2 winters prior to this one, which were very cold. Minor complaint- I watched one of the workmen put the exterior heat pump unit outdoors. They look like a typical outdoor AC condenser, but are nearly 2x as large, as this is the design of heat pumps (cool in summer, heat in winter). The workman put the unit on concrete blocks in my back yard. It looked crooked to me. I asked him about it. He said it didn't matter. I said, yes, but I'll have to see it every day, and it would be nice if it was squared up. He muttered something under his breath, and began to argue that it wasn't important. At this point his co-worker came out, asked what the problem was. I told him, and he instructed his worker to fix it. He also later made that worker come apologize to me :) I understood, the guy had to move the unit off the blocks, level the ground underneath, and put it back on (15-20 minute job, just for aesthetics). But when you pay $9000, you want it to look good to you! So in summary- Good price, the system has worked great for several years, and other than typical human nature, but with an apology, great job, I highly recommend the company.

They responded the next day, ordered the necessary part, and repaired the issue shortly thereafter.

Oliver gave us excellent service and tracked down the problem. They worked with us to have parts under warrantly replaced as necessary. We definitely will continue to use them and recomend them to others.

Oliver did an outstanding job, timely, responsive, and the slaes rep Dan L was amazing. The job was done on time, exactly as everything that was sais was done, and the system performs amazing. I have an all electric home. Last billing cycle, my neighbor had a $740 dollar electric bill, -(also all electric)- my bill was $217. A bog investment, but I consider it a structured annuity that will keep paying for itself year after year. The Olive guarentee surpasses all in the industry, and we could not be happier.
