Well initially we installed an air scrubber and then checked the furnace which was later found that the inducer fan was almost caput! This was replaced 3 days later when the part was available. Overall both technicians that came were very knowledgeable and explained to us clearly and exactly what was being done and why. We were very happy with the job, definitely will use them again.

It went pretty good. They found some things wrong with the furnace so I had to replace it and that was fine. I ended up spending about $2000 and it was all worth while. The technician was very knowledgeable and my wife has allergies and he recommended an air scrubber in the furnace to help her. He said if we don't like it within 30 days he will give us a full refund and so far my wife has improved quite a bit.

I collected quotes from several companies large & small. While they weren't the lowest price, they were very professional, considerate, and knowledgeable. This applies to the salesman, his boss that followed up a few days later, and the installers. The salesman informed me of the details of the equipment and also shared with me his personal experiences with the different options available. I compared this with what other salespeople told me and with my personal research. I typically don't trust salespeople so this was big for me. He also informed me of different financing options. The one I chose was a low rate state sponsored one. He also informed me that by buying the higher efficient model, I would get rebates from the government and from my electric company that ended up making the better model cheaper. They also got the work permit and arranged for a separate company to come in and remove my oil tank. He also arranged for me to receive space heaters since it was cold and my old system was no longer functional. The installers arrived at the agreed upon time and began work promptly. The old equipment was replaced in less time than was estimated, so I had some unexpected time to myself. As far as I could tell, everyone knew their jobs and stayed focused on it without a lot of standing around and talking. Delivery and removal of equipment was coordinated as well. There wasn't any down time waiting for things to happen. They also took time to explain to me why certain things were done. Afterwards, they reviewed what was done and what to expect with the new system. When doing my inspection after they left I noticed a minor issue (not equipment related). I called service to have someone come out but ended up getting transferred into the wrong person's voicemail. This took a few days to get resolved. That is why I can't give them an "A" for responsiveness. I'm sure the biggest problem is that I wasn't in their "service computer system" so that confused someone, but that's something they need to work on. I only give out the "A" for extraordinary performance. Afterwards they followed up to see if everything was meeting my expectations. They also mailed me all of the forms and the needed copies for my rebates. I will be contacting them for any other work around my house that they do.

Salesman and installation mechanics were punctional. The job presented some challanges but the Oliver staff were well up to the challanges. The project manager (Ed Kelly) and mechanics (Scott and Mark) were punctual, frendily, accomidating and highly professional. (Not really happy with the thermostat ). I highly recommend this provider and would hire them again.

From the phone conversation requesting an estimate to the final clean-up and detailed instructions on the computer-like thermostat Oliver exceeded every expectation. The estimator, Scott, thoroughly knew the market and what products were available, At no time did he say anything negative about other contractors. His proposal was detailed and clear. I had a total of five estimates. When the workers arrived cloths covered the entire path in and out of the house and all workers wore foot coverings. The old equipment was removed with a minimum of noise, odor--the oil tank had been half full--and dirt. They were kind and very respectful of our two friendly large dogs who frequently escaped their containment to join them. They asked permission to play a radio and even asked if the music was un-offensive--it was. They installed a new Carrier heat pump, made alterations to my electric and duct work, cleaned up, took all trash with them and left the house in the condition it was in when they arrived. The heater has operated flawlessly; a noticeable improvement is the quiet, and the uniformity of temperature throughout the house. The high-tech thermostat even calculates the on-going cost of the system's operation once you input your electric rate.
Description of Work: Oliver removed a 27 year old oil tank, oil burner and central air conditioner and installed a new heating system which, after considerable discussion of options, met the specification I required during the estimate.

This company I found on Angies list to come in and replace a HVAC heat pump unit as a prior installer installed the previous unit wrong. Oliver was very professional and helped me understand the overall unit and then showed me in the intallation manuals what was done wrong prior. Both of the techs that came to my house spent a great deal of time just educating me on HVAC systems so I would be better informed before making decisions on trying to modify the existing unit or to replace with a new one. Either way they were willing to work with me.

I contacted Oliver and another company for estimates based on their very positive reviews on AL. Project Mgr. Dan provided a fast, detailed (3-pgs.) proposal for a Lennox and a Trane system. While inspecting the installation site, Dan came up with a handful of suggestions (like increasing the size of the gas supply pipes, replacing existing exhaust pipes, adding an air intake duct, custom duct work, relocation of illegally placed shut off electrical. box) that the other company did not propose. Dan also assured me that his installers were top notch, factory-trained, drug tested, etc. Frankly, I was more interested and concerned about the quality of the installation than I was about the quality of the new components. Over the next couple days, I had some back and forth with Dan, whose responses to my questions were always timely. Oliver acted like they wanted my business. I had a very good feeling about the company so I went with them. They were able to almost immediately schedule installation. It took 3 guys (Scott, Mark, and apprentice) a full day to do the work, but they were gone before 5:00. They did the usual: put down cloths to protect the carpeting, left the site spotless, etc. But I also appreciate that they took the care I asked them to to avoid banging my new entry door and entry-area construction: not a scratch was left. I am a home handyman, so I know and appreciate professional work. Every aspect of this project (electrical, plumbing, drilling holes through my foundation, etc.) was done to my utmost satisfaction. It's a pleasure to look at the installation and know that the expensive equipment I was paying for will be able to function as intended. I'm including some pix of the install. I will certainly highly recommend this company to all my friends. You may be able to find a quote for less, but you will never regret having a top quality installation. Several additional kudos: they left me w/ 4 pleated air cleaners, so I'm good for 5 years before I need to buy an air cleaner. Most conveniently: Oliver takes care of initiating the paperwork for the PECO rebates ($700) and Lennox rebate ($1000) that my new system entitles me to. I need to file for the $500 federal tax rebate. A final plug for the Lennox modulating/variable speed gas furnace (SLP98v): it's the bomb! Completely silent: we haven't heard it run yet, and it holds the set temp. to within a half degree. We are looking forward to significant savings on utility costs, while enjoying superior comfort. Update: a "plus" I forgot to mention originally: Oliver extends the manufacturer's warranty on parts and labor to 10 years. Outstanding!

Oliver Heating was prompt, professional and very pleasant. Ed was warm and felt very comfortable in my home. He gave some good quotes as well as some recommendations which I have followed up on already.
Description of Work: The contractor, Ed, was polite and professional. He gave me an estimate for the cost of the heating unit installation. I am in the process of comparing prices and determining which company I will use to install my heating unit. Their proposal is good for 30 days which allows me time to think about my decision; though, I'm not planning on waiting that long. :)

Greg was very professional and courteous, arrived on time, and wore his boot covers even though we told him he didn't have to! He ran an entire new line, not just a splice job. He also used conduit for the parts exposed to weather to prevent the damage from happening again. In the basement he made sure the junction boxes had covers (which they didn't have before) just because it's best practice and he didn't want to see them remain open - no extra charge. The indoor and outdoor work areas were cleaned up before he left. We will use this company again.
Description of Work: Greg from Oliver Electrical replaced a damaged 30 amp line between our indoor and outdoor heat pump units.

I purchased one of those AC tune up coupons from Angie's list. The technician was on time and professional, but he said he was going to send me a report of exactly what was performed on my unit and never did. For all I know, he might of just replaced the filter and left. (I also want to mention, they replaced the filter with one of those cheap 1" fiberglass ones, even though my unit uses the higher grade 4" type - I thought that was kind of a waste, since I still had to buy and replace the filter that fit).

Well, the company did not call me. After waiting three days, I went on their website and requested an appointment online and gave the time frame I wanted someone to call me back and they still did not call me back. The next day I called their direct phone number and told them I was waiting for a response through Angies List and their online appointment service and she told me they had been having trouble getting their messages from Angie's List. When I tried to get an appointment for the next day, she told me that was too soon and nothing was available. I told her I had been waiting a week for them to call me back and they never did! I still had to wait until the next week to get an appointment. The appt was for arrival between 9 and 1pm. The guy called a t 1:11 and said he would be another half hour. Once he got to my house at 2pm he was at least pleasant and did what I needed him to do.

He called me back within an hour of my leaving a message and asked about the problem, which was water leaking into my basement area around the furnace. He said he would be at my location in about 20 mins and it was slightly longer but he showed and was very pleasant and professional. After checking in the basement and seeing the water coming from the floor above he informed me that he would have to break into the wall in the kitchen to search out the location of the leak. He found the leaking pipe, just a pinhole leak in a copper pipe and then proceeded to repair by cutting out the defective pipe and replacing it. He was very careful about moving furnishing out of the way and cleaning up after his repair. I would use him again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Found leak behind wall in kitchen area, cut out and replaced defective piping.

I was very pleased with their service and thought it was very professional. Making an appointment was easy and the technician showed up on time. He was very nice and professional taking time to answer all my questions and concerns. I will use them again in the future and will use them for heating maintenance as well.
Description of Work: Technician performed general maintenance and cleaning of our A/C unit. He went to the attic where our air handler is located and ran some diagnostics then flushed lines clear. He also went outside and inspected and cleaned the unit.

Great. Arrived promptly. Professional. Performed A/C tune-up as purchased through Angie's List and found the problem that was causing my A/C to not function properly. The faulty part was changed and I ended up buying a service plan for my unit. I would highly recommend the company to others.

The job went very well. Oliver's electrician, Greg Brady, came right on time at 7:45 am the day of the job and we reviewed the job with me. He was extremely personable and setup for the job to remove the old light and fan assembly in the kitchen. He was very neat and put a drop cloth on the floor to catch any debris. He removed the light fixture and replaced with the one I had purchased at Lowe's and installed two bulbs for test. He then replaced the old switch and tested the new light. When tried it worked perfectly. Greg was an excellent electrician, very personable and knowledgeable in his trade. I plan to use Oliver and his services again.
Description of Work: Oliver's electrician replaced my kitchen light switch and installed a new ceiling light that I purchased in advance at Lowe's. The switch had gone bad as evident by light turning off when on and movement in switch that causes light to flicker.

These guys were great, on-time, highly prepared, friendly, their workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding (artwork). My only suggestion to others considering similar work - Work with Oliver and Powell and have them secure a landscape contractor to perform grading and seeding after the installation.

The service I received from Oliver Heating Cooling Plumbing & Electrical turned out well. The only issue I had is that I didn't get a receipt. I called and didn't get any responses to my quest for an email or mail copy of the receipt to me. They were very open to working with my schedule.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to get a check-up on my air conditioning unit. There were no extra charges. I only paid the original amount that I paid for the price of the Big Deal. They did the a couple of weeks after we purchased the Big Deal.

Greg Brady was the Oliver technician who completed the work. He was right on time, explained everything he was doing, put in a long, hard day of work without interruption. We were impressed with his knowledge and work ethic. We could not be more pleased with the end product or the experience of having him in work in our home.

The entire experience with Oliver was very good. From the salesman to the installation and follow-up it was a great process. Had three other companies provide estimates and Oliver was the last one. The price was below the competitors for the same system, and the installation went very well. After 11 years, my water heater finally met its end and started leaking water all over the downstairs bathroom. I had just gotten home from work to find it slowly trickling out of the utility closet that houses the heater. I mopped it up and tried to find the source of the problem and sure enough, the conclusion was that the heater had given out and would have to get replaced. Since it was a gas heater, and I had no interest in dealing with turning the gas/water off to prevent more water from pouring out until I could get someone in the following day, I tried calling a few companies listed here. Since this was now after hours, I had to call the emergency line for most of these and leave messages. Andrew from Oliver returned my call within 15 minutes. He was very pleasant to talk to and asked very clear questions regarding what was going on with the heater. He then talked me through the process of turning off the water valve to prevent more water from going into the heater (and eventually my floor). He was very descriptive and made it very easy to understand what to do or where to find the information he needed to assess the situation fully. Since the conclusion was that the heater had to be replaced, he then gave me the various pricing/warranty options, which all included labor/taxes etc., assuring me it would be the same price regardless of if he came out that night or if someone else came out the next day. Since it was a lot more than I was hoping to pay, I told him I needed to think about it and maybe discuss it with someone else. I quickly researched the heater brand he was recommending and found out that it was in fact one of the top brands, like he had said, and apparently worth every penny. Ultimately deciding that I had no interest in spending the whole night (and next morning) mopping up water from the floor, I called him back and told him I would like to have it fixed that night. He told me it would take him about an hour to get to the storeroom for the new heater and then make it out to my place. He arrived almost exactly an hour later and immediately got to work removing the old heater and installing the new one. He was extremely courteous and professional. The whole process took a few hours, but that was mostly due to the fact that the layout for utility closets in our whole development are apparently not the greatest and rather awkward to work with. This is something that even I had noticed when I was doing my initial assessment. It is very hard to work around them, especially with the way the piping above them is laid out. I can only imagine what a challenge it must be to replace them. So overall, I was very pleased with the time it took him to complete the job. Once he did, payment was super easy. They are equipped with smart tablets that let you run your payment and go green by having your receipt emailed to you! At least Andrew was. And the price was exactly what he had quoted me over the phone, not a penny more. No hidden fees. No extra charges for having to work harder around the awkward closet space. I was truly pleased with that regard (still wish it would've been a bit less, but I guess heaters are expensive). Worth noting is that about half an hour or so after Andrew had arrived at my house and had gotten to work, one of the other companies I had left a message called me back. Now mind you, this is already about an hour and a half after Andrew and I had hung up and he was heading out to my place, which itself was about an hour since I had been making those initial calls for a total of 2:30 hours at least. Only goes to show the early bird catches the worm. I kindly thanked them for returning my call but told them someone else was already taking care of it. Another company actually called me early the following morning as well. Needless to say, I simply said "never mind" and hung up on them. Overall, I am very pleased with the work Andrew did. He explained very clearly how to make setting adjustments to my new heater and how to check the pilot light is on/off. I cannot stress enough how impressed I was by his responsiveness and professionalism. I would definitely use Oliver again (and ask for Andrew!) should I need anything else in the future.

They were great. They have been around town. They were very thorough, on time everyday and they were done when they said they were gonna be done. Their price was fair. I will use them in the future. In fact, I just started looking at our air conditioning

They replaced what had to be replaced and even if it does not need to be replaced, they just made sure that it was in really good condition and safe.
