Oliver Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, & Electrical

Oliver was called because of an emergency situation in our basement. They responded quickly and removed the old sump pump and replaced with a new one. They also repaired our furnace that sustained water damage. I have found Oliver to be extremely responsive during normal situations but even more so during emergency situations such as ours. They are prompt and courteous and always explain exactly what needs to be done. They always follow up to make sure that everything is to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend them to others. It gives me peace of mind to know that Oliver will always respond quickly when most needed.

They added the coolant that was needed but I felt the overall cost of the service was too expensive. They added some type of time control on the unit that in hind site I don't think was necessary.

Almost went with this company, but as I asked more questions the answers were changing. Last questions I asked were never answered. I went with another company. Be sure you fully understand everything you are told and get it documented.

Very professional, very nice, explained everything he was doing. Tried to find just the right switch that I wanted (I wanted a very specific one that he didn't have in the truck, that was my bad for not asking ahead of time or having bought it myself.) Talked about some other things I wanted done. Quick, clean, polite, friendly and professional. I will use them again.

They did a great job. They are dependable, they are well trained, respectful, and they are careful with your home. There is nothing I would say. They are wonderful. Their price may be a little higher than others, but I am willing to pay extra because they are dependable, and everything is done so well.

Everything went well from our perspective with the AC installation. Dan was our sales rep and he was honest and upfront with us about what we can expect from central AC in our 200+ yr old home. Joe and Tom (installers) were helpful and professional and also friendly and courteous. They respected our home and did a good job of cleaning up. The project was completed in less time than estimated.

Oliver arrived on time, provided everything they said they would. They really went above and beyond during the initial sizing/design phase to insure that they were installing the right equipment for my home. From the sales people to the schedulers to the installers, this was a great experience. Oliver was very responsive, adapted to change, very knowledgeable and coordinated the entire job from start to finish. Do not hesitate with this company.

They were nice, but the prices were a lot higher than competitors. Also, the person who gave estimates was different than the person who would have been doing the work.

He suggested I replace the sump pump. He gave me an estimate. He could not unclog the drain. He recommended another company. He said someone from Oliver would contact me to make arrangement to have the sump pump replaced. I never received a call. Very disappointing. In addition, I had to pay a fee for him to come out in the evening. I had described my issue on the phone prior to the technician coming out so I have no idea why no one said that the company does not clean out outside drains.

Oliver Heating called to schedule the tune-up. The service person arrived on time and did a good job.

The heater cleanings are the most thorough I have ever seen (in 35 years.) The techs are knowledgeable and personable. I was able to watch and ask questions as the work was progressing. I have had 2 heater cleanings, which come with annual service contracts. I have also had 2 service calls. The first one the heater refused to run. I called and they sent a technician within a couple of hours. He found the problem (a blocked filter) replaced it and re-started the heater. The second repair was for the mixing valve which is part of the hot water system (which runs off the oil heater.) I was not getting very much hot water. The tech came out and remembered being at my house once before. He knew the heater pretty well. He determined that the valve needed replacement. He went back to the office. They ordered the valve and called me when it came in, then came right over to install it. Since then I have had plenty of hot water! I have dealt with several technicians and office staff and they are always very helpful and professional.

Went well. They made recommendations, which were helpful.

Difficult installation due to narrow joists in ceiling and challenging access to area above ceiling. The job was professionally done and we are happy with the results.

Scott came out (he had actually been out many months previously but I had to postpone the job at that time) and went over the system with me, including discussing ways to deal with an on-going condensate drain line problem. He answered about a million questions, went over details several times until I was sure I understood what he was suggesting and why he was suggesting it, and provided a detailed estimate. The best part about dealing with Scott was that I always believed and trusted him - he used no scare tactics and he clearly knew what he was talking about. I had four estimates done, and unfortunately I can't say the same for all of the bidders. Although I ultimately chose someone else to do the job, I would have no hesitation calling Oliver for future work.

Andrew arrived on time and was very professional. He explained the process as he went along and made sure that I was aware of any pricing changes due to unexpected issues. Job well done!!!! :)

I called to get an estimate on installing an a/c system on the top floor of a house that doesn't have an existing a/c system. The receptionist was professional and I was given a prompt appointment that worked for my schedule. Scott came out in a timely manner. I knew I wanted to discuss the options of a mini-split or traditional system, for again, only the top floor. Before he looked beyond our living room (not the top floor) Scott gave me a quote stating that nothing could be done for under $15,000.00. I stated that I knew that was the price range for a high velocity system, which I didn't want to purchase (I knew that what I wanted could be done for less than his quoted price). I reiterated that I was exploring the other two options, not the high velocity system. Again, he stated nothing could be done for less than $15,000.00. I don't know if Scott was representing the company with his practices or only his commission. Either way I won't be calling them for any potential business in the future.

Company was on time and very professional. However when asked about the noise my furnace made at times, I was told it was normal. Furnace still runs loud at times and did not during the visit. I also asked about the price of a new furnace and hot water heater for future reference. i was told I would need to make another appointment to have someone come out and quote me. Oliver seems like a good company, but perhaps too big. I think I may have been better going with another smaller company. I'm sure it would have cost less and maybe got someone out who was more knowledgeable. It was also hard to get them on the phone as well. seems a little disorganized.

Brandon the service tech, called ahead, was on time.Put his booties on while in my home.He was polite, and informative.Another great experience with Oliver.

We recently moved to our new home which did not have a water softener or whole house humidifier. Having come from a house with soft water we knew we had to have a water softener installed and having low house humidity was causing issues as well. The Plumbing Project Manager Bob V. who came out to quote the work for us was very friendly and thorough, taking the time to understand and answer our questions. After testing the water we found out we also needed a PH system installed. We received quotes from multiple companies and although Oliver was not the lowest they were competitive and won our business. We settled on Oliver to complete the work for us. They even worked with us to set up the 1yr interest free financing for the entire project. The installation of the water softener and PH system went very smooth. The Installer Joe and his assistant were very friendly and took the time to answer my questions as they were working. They did a nice job installing everything and we now have soft water. Subsequent to the initial install we had to have them come back out to replace a leaking valve on one of the units. Joe came out and within less than 5 minutes he knew what the problem was. He called the office and told them the part he needed. After about a week I did have to follow up once to get a status on the repair. Once they had the repair parts in hand they replaced the valves on both head units to ensure we didn't have the same problem on the other unit. I appreciated that proactive repair. The same day we had the softener and PH system installed we also had a whole house humidifier install complete. That went smoothly as well. The Technician was friendly and again took my questions and input in stride as he worked. Although we've had some back office hiccups on billing etc. we are very happy with the Oliver team as a whole and are now engaged with them to complete a furnace/AC system replacement as well as a good bit of home energy saving initiatives. I'll submit a separate review for that work once it's complete.

Bob was extremely professional and there was no BS involved (like I encountered with so many others). He was prompt, and accommodated my schedule to make sure we had heat in the dead of winter. The install guy were here until 10:30 PM on a Friday night working until the boiler worked properly. Overall a great experience and not one regret.

I got the system tuned-up in fall. The price was all included when I first got the whole system re-done. We have a dual unit. The second floor is one giant room with a walk in closet, closet and our own bathroom. We had a Mitsubishi system/Slim Jim put in. That was a complete separate system and then we had the whole first floor in the basement done with a secondary system. We also had to have some duct work repaired because it wasn't done properly and I knew that going into it. It cost me about $20,000 for a dual system. I think it was $4000 to fix the duct work. The price was well worth it. I know it's a little bit more. It's worth paying a little bit more money for better quality. They're a little bit more than the rest, but you get what you pay for.

We would definitely use them again.

It was all covered by my service contract. The person who diagnosed my problem was on point. Phew!
