During the estimate process, I told Michael I wanted to use glass for the walls and floor. I asked him if he had experience with glass installation? He said, "I've done hundreds of glass installation." He impressed me with his knowledge of the process. Glass installation is very different form ceramic, porcelain, or stone. His estimate was $1,000.00 more than the lowest estimate that I received. I chose Michael because he sold me on his 'expertise'. We set a date for my project to start, 04/16,12. I lined up my plumber, carpenter, and countertop fabricator to work with Michael's schedule. April 10th, Michael came out to discuss the layout of my glass tiles. He voiced some concerns about cutting the glass tiles. He proposed some different options. I agreed to be on site during the work to make decisions on layout of the tiles. The next day, April 11th, Michael called me and told me, he did Not feel comfortable with my project. I'm confused. I was told by Michael that he had done hundreds of glass installations. His last minute cancellation left me baffled and hung out to dry. I have 425 square feet of tiles and contractors ready for installation, but no one to install. I'm very disappointed. I agree that Michael should not tackle a project he doesn't feel comfortable/confident to do. However, he should not have misrepresented his expertise and wasted everybody's time (mine and all the other contractors).
Description of Work: Tile Revolution gave me a free estimate for re-tiling my master bath with glass tile, Feb.22, 2012. We agreed on a price, $4,500.00 for labor.

Outstanding job. I was impressed with his professionalism and talent. He spent plenty of time discussing the job and put to rest any concern my wife and I had. I like the fact that the person who estimated the job also picked out the tile (providing samples of several possibilities) and then the very same person did the prep and the actual job. I would not hesitate to use Tile Revolutions again.
Description of Work: The owner of the company prepped and laid foundation for a ceramic tile floor in kitchen, then he laid the floor, and did the finish work where the floor met threshholds. In addition, he did some work staining grout in a hallway to match the new grout in the kitchen.

Great. Couldn't be happier. We spent some more than we expected, and are happy we did so. In general it may take a bit more effort on the consumer end to use an owner-operator, but it is worth it to know that the guy giving you the estimate is the very one who will be doing the work and the same one who will answer the phone if there are issues. We'd return to him in a heartbeat. Mike is the kind of business person who could hire a staff, buy a few more trucks, and make much more money, but he chooses not to. He's the real deal.
Description of Work: My family moved into a new-to-us home and put in a new kitchen. Mike L of Tile Revolutions was contracted to install the new kitchen floor (ceramic tile, about 300 s.f.) and backsplash. We got several estimates but went with Mike. I was impressed that the owner-operator showed up, gave me a detailed estimate, and spent probably two hours before he got the contract talking about which tile to use, and how to get the grout color to tie together other tile on the first floor, etc. To save some $$, he advised how we could demo the floor (there were 4 layers of flooring to pull out). The job went off without a hitch, and he coordinated with the kitchen installers on a number of items - laying the foundation for the new floor, new cabinets then the backsplash, and more. No issues at all.
