I contacted DTS as one of 3 highly rated electricians on Angie's List. Dave Spain arrived for the estimate on time and was very helpful concerning our work. He made some recommendations concerning some of our plans and also was willing to work with us to help us keep our costs down. My husband ran the wiring for the new outlets and the additional line to the garage to save on our costs. Dave also worked with us by giving us a really great price if we had all the work done at once, enabling him to get everything done in one day. His price was significantly lower than the other 2 estimates. Dave showed up for the job with his helper, also named Dave. Both men are very polite and friendly and were especially good with our 3 dogs. They were very careful about going in and out of the house since one of our "kids" likes to try to escape out the front door from time to time. Dave (the owner) stopped to ask me questions once or twice concerning the location of the 3-way switch and the kitchen outlet, which I appreciated. We had an issue with ordering the outdoor light (it arrived prior to the work but was the wrong color and had to be sent back). Dave was willing to work with us in that regard also. All in all, I can't imagine it being a better experience. We were able to get all of our electrical work done (both needs and things on our "wish list") so now we can focus on other home improvement projects. I recommend Dave Spain and DTS Electric, Inc. wholeheartedly. He is our electrician from now on.

After purchasing my new home, I quickly found a boatload of things didn't work. One of the items on the "honey-do" list was the doorbell. Being an engineer, I quickly traced the circuit and found the source of the problem was a cut wire between the basement and the doorbell unit. I had tested the transformer and it was providing proper voltage. I spoke to Dave about "fishing" a line from my first floor doorbell unit 6 feet off the floor, and my basement. We were able to come to an agreement on the price, and Dave scheduled the work on a thursday. I was home that day and Dave ended up drilling a hole through my hardwood floors to identify which "hole" to fish the line through. It took about 1.5 hours and Dave completed the installation and tested the bell works. He put wood putty into the hole and I was able to seal it so that it is not visible. The things that are noteworthy is that he is very meticulous and clean about the work. The area where he drilled looked undisturbed after he was completed.

Very well. Dave was on time, proficient and professional. He clearly describes the work he does and is very reasonable price-wise in my opinion. I would definitely use him again.

We had purchased two spot/accent lights in fall of 2011 but when we were looking for qualified and licensed electricians, had some difficulty in locating one until I finally decided to join Angie's List in early 2012 and searched for a local electrician who was also highly recommended by those who used that company. I reviewed the local companies and found DTS Electric. DTS Electric is a locally owned and run company and my call was promptly returned with a date scheduled for an 'assessment' visit and for a quote to be given. The quote was given the same day as the initial visit and was totally acceptable and quite fair for the work we needed to have performed. Dave arrived on time as scheduled and was able to install the hanging spot/accent lights over the kitchen sink as requested. There were no extra added costs/hidden costs and all of the work was performed for the quoted price. He covered the countertops and floor with plastic to collect any dust from his drilling into the ceiling and wall. After installing the two lights, the wall switch with dimmer, then patching the wall where a hole had to be drilled, Dave swept and vacuumed the kitchen and the area leading out to the front door... above and beyond what I would have expected. Our friends and neighbors who have seen the lights also have felt that the work was very well done and the price was very fair. When I need any additional electrical work, DTS Electric will be the first company I call for the work.

I have used Dave Spain (DTS) several times and have been very satisfied each time. On this latest occasion, he responded quickly to my call regarding a tripped circuit breaker that would not reset. While the problem was resulting from a short in a lighting fixture, this was not easy to find because of the all the hidden connections along the circuit. Dave found and fixed the problem at no cost. I highly recommend him.

Dave was professional, on time, friendly and very efficeint in getting the job completed. I would hire him again for any electrical work we would need in the future.

David scheduled a time that was good for me. David called the day of service to reconfirm time.David was ontime Along with the contracted work David did a few extra things for me (per my request) and only charged for parts.David worked clean and professional. He spent time to answer my many questions and also showed me why I didn't need to spend money on a repair I thought that I needed.

Prompt & responsive...will definitely use again

These guys were great. They originally had some reservations about hanging the chandelier due to its weight(over 100 lbs). But they devised a winch system in my attic to raise the light after reinforcing the attic framing. It was obvious they put a lot of thought into this job. The day after the job was done, they even came back to install a larger capacity dimmer switch without asking because they were concerned about the load on the installed switch. They were neat, cleaned up after the job, and were dependable. My wife and I were very pleased.

We are very pleased we the quality work that was accomplished by Mr. Spain. We found him to be very professional in every way, and very easy to work with. The inspector approved his work.

I purchased a deal for 2 hours of electrical work for $99. It was a great deal and I have been looking for a reputable electrician, so I gave DTS a try. What can I say? Everything was perfect, from start to finish. David was prompt, was very fast, and cleaned up after the job. He also gave me a quote on other work that I need done and it was very fair. I will definitely call him back, when my husband is gets a job. Highly recommended!

He was good. I will see him again after the 1st of January 2012. His price was fair for what he did. I will certainly recommend him. He followed up the way he said that he would and everything was good. He did what he said and I could not ask for more than that. He came the day that I called him and said he was going to show up and he did. He was very good about his professionalism and he knew what he was doing. I will definitely use him again in the future.

I had jumped on an Angie's List Hot Deal for a ceiling fan installation. I still needed to find the right ceiling fan, though. When Dave contacted me to schedule the job, I explained that I was still shopping, and would tell him when I was ready. After several weeks, I picked a fan that I really liked, and then called him. We scheduled the installation. On the day of the appointment, Dave arrived on time. However, due to a documentation error, he did not bring a ladder tall enough for the ceiling. He went to a local home improvement store to rent a taller ladder, at his cost, and was back in about 30 minutes. Dave then went to work, maneuvering around one of the bedposts to install this fairly heavy fan. Afterwards, he balanced the fan using the small weights that came with it. Then, he cleaned the ceiling around the base of the fan before packing all of the remaining materials in the original box. I was very happy with Dave's positive attitude and careful work.

David was great to work with. Efficient, courteous, flexible and clean. Provided us with a couple of options to accomplish the things we needed done and was engaged in the process. Always responded in a timely manner (within 24 hours). His card is now in the rolodex for any future electrical work we may need.

I was contacted before the contractor arrived, and I had the lighting that I wanted to be set out in a box ready for him. I also had purchased the replacement spotlight and bulbs so that was already here.When he arrived we discussed the what I would like to have done, and if there was time left over, I had questions. He fixed the spot light and we moved on to the next project of covering an open electrical box, and then the walkway lights, there was about 15 mins left of the 2 hours, and he replaced some outside bulbs for me in another spotlight. I have been pleased with the work and I would recommend him again. I originally met him during a special which he fixed a ceiling fan, a doorbell and investigated the spotlight to understand why is was not working. I also asked for any recommendations that he might have. This was a return visit from the previous Big Deal, to complete the other items that I had

An overall great experience - will definately use DTS for all future electrical work

I left a message with Dave at DTS to call me with a ceiling fan problem. He did not return the call that day, so I called again the next day and mentioned I had gotten his name from Angie's List. He returned my call later that evening and apologized for not getting back to me earlier as he had gotten in late the first day I had called. We made an appointment within two business days, he gave me an estimated time, called me on the appointment day prior to the appointment to let me know he wasonly 10 minutes away. Dave arrived on time, fixed the problem within 10 minutes, and only charged me $65 which included his service call. He was very professional and the amount very reasonable. I will definitely call him again.

The Great Deal did not go well for us. We purchased the two hours of electrical work to have our driveway lamp post repaired. Instead, the contractor gave us multiple reasons why he could not perform the work. Instead, I had him fix my doorbell. Very disappointed. I asked him to give me a quote for fixing my lamp post. He gave me a quote of $1,000-1,500.00 which was ridiculous. I have subsequently called another company who did the job with excellence for $285.00

All went well and stayed within estimate. Technician was extremely knowledgable,courteous, efficient, clean and friendly. I highly recommend him.

Everything went very good. He is an excellent worker and everything was cleaned up and did a good job.
