David was excellent. 200+ year old house. Needed to replace two lighting fixtures. David actually came to big box store with me, and helped make sure I got proper size and such. He was friendly and professional. I will use him again and I recommend him for your electrical needs.

I called three different electricians from Angies List. David was the only one to return my call at all. He called me back the same day and came over the next day to diagnosis the problem. Let me say, that even my husband (who doesn't like the work we had done from others in the past) was very impressed with David. David showed up at the scheduled appointment time, was polite, friendly, and really knows his stuff! I think this was the first time my husband was ever pleased with someone! The job was done right at a reasonable price. My dog even liked him and she doesn't go to anyone. I have already recommended him to many people and one friend already called him over to her house. I used the Angie's List two-hour special for $99. Dave was very responsive when I called to schedule an appointment. He was scheduled to arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. about one week after I called. He called the day of the appt around 9:10 to acknowledge he was running late and was here by 9:20. He was friendly and professional. I had a list of things I needed him to do, in order of priority. First, our rear and front doorbells were not working. He'd asked me to buy replacement doorbells--I did, but they were the wrong kind, so I'll need to return them. I also needed him to replace two switches, and he only had one spare on his truck. So, I asked him to go to the local hardware store and pick up the switch and doorbells that would work. (This time would come out of the two hours, but the store was only 1 mile away). I also asked Dave to check the exterior outlet that needed to be replaced before he went to the store, so he could pick up whatever supplies we needed for that, too. He assured me he would have what he needed for that on his truck. He was back from the store very quickly. He replaced the remaining interior switch and moved to the exterior outlet, while I worked on setting up the doorbell (it did not involve anything electrical, but I did not know that before he showed me). Turns out he did not have the ideal "bubble cover" he would need for the exterior outlet on his truck, but he assured me that replacing it with a normal exterior outlet cover and caulking would work just as well. He told me a bubble cover would cost me $30, but he would charge $15 for the regular cover. He also charged me $6 for gas for the two-mile trip to the hardware store (he originally added $11 to the cost of the supplies, until I asked to see the receipt, and then he adjusted the gas expense down). For $99, plus supplies ($38 doorbell kit, $11 two interior switches, $15 one exterior outlet cover) plus $6 for gas, Dave was able to: - replace two interior switches - replace one exterior outlet switch and cover - show me how to set up working doorbells He did not have time or inclination to figure out why an exterior light was not working, but he recommended a few things that I could think about before hiring more electric work. A small nit, it was rainy out and without shoe covers some mud tracked in on my floors. Overall, Dave was friendly and worked fast. I was satisfied because everything but one thing on my list was completed. I would call him again in the future.

Dave has just been an absolute pleasure to work with -- never once did I get a feeling of being "pressured". He professionally and promptly returned messages and completely will do everything possible within his ability to meet expectations. We had a myriad of different things done and we are pleased with them all. Dave recommended an option for our garage that I am hopeful to be able to take him up on in the near future. In summary, I am glad to have an electrician as professional, helpful, and positive as Dave!

Very pleased with work done by DTS. They had great customer service- communicated with us, were prompt and cordial. Purchased service through an Angie's List Deal- had to pay for an additional part when he was out here due to not having a pre-existing box, but rate for that was reasonable. Will happily use again.

When I called Dave he was prompt in returning my call. I am hard to get a hold of but he persisted. When we connected he asked if I felt my problem was an emergency or a real inconvenience he would come that day, but it was not, so we set up our date. He was prompt. I am a bit of a nudge because I want to know exactly what you are doing, and he was patient and answered all my questions clearly and professionally. Overall it was an excellent experience.

Service was for a house we just moved into. Prompt, professional & competitively priced...just what we asked for & things are working great.

They:1. Were very prompt in returning calls2. Found a way to work my small job into his busy schedule.3. Made extra trips to ensure that he inspected to work to make sure it was a part I needed before purchasing it and needed to go to a specialty store to get it.Additionally, he made some suggestions on work that needed to be done to ensure the safety of my family. I will be getting additonal work down on my older home and will be using DTS to do it.

When the sparks were literally flying from two outlets where I was exchanging outlet covers last evening, I contacted Dave Spain. He got back to me promptly and, while offering to come out that night, he assured me that with minor precautions I could take I would be safe and not require the additional charge for after-hours work. He came out the next day and determined the cause of the problem, which he quickly fixed it. He answered all my questions knowledgeably and addressed my concerns with patience and professionalism. I would not hesitate to call DTS again for any electrical repair or contracting.

Dave was responsive from the beginning. Always answered phone calls or e-mails and called to confirm appointments. He worked with me to make sure that the projects were done to our satisfaction. He was very clean and polite. Couldn't ask for better.

He is fair and hardworking. He got things done. He was very knowledgeable and just did really good work. I will have him come back soon for another project. He was on time and had fair pricing.

Dave came out to the house within days of the initial contact. He walked throughout the house taking detailed notes about the work to be performed. He made suggestions of different things we could do. He understood that some of the items might be "wish list" items and that we might have to do work in series of parts based upon cost. We were upfront that we were getting multiple estimates and was upfront about his work schedule. We were fine with waiting about 10 days for the work especially once we got his estimate. He promptly provided us with an estimate which we accepted. We are very pleased with the work he did and the initiative he showed. We will certainly be using Dave in the future.

Unfortunately, I had a conflict come up at the last second and tried to reschedule.But, of course, the fine print has a 48 hour cancellation notice and Dave was not willing to find a workaround to acquire a new, lifelong customer. Plus, the earliest he could reschedule would be August...So... Beware if you are looking for someone who can be flexible or for someone who can schedule the work before 2 months out.Very disappointed. Looking for another electrician now.

I requested a total of 3 ceiling fans installed. An outside security light, replace a can light and put up a new fixture in my hallway. All these projects could not be done during the Big Deal time alotted so I needed to schudule more time with Mr.Spain which he priced very reasonably.

Work was completed on time, neat, and safe. Can't beat the prices. We trust that he does not take advantage of us.

Services performed: Timer switch at front door not working Attic fan not working- replaced motor Connected new stereo system in den to living room Checked the outlet in our bathroom. All it needed was to push the red button in. Attempted to fix an artistic hanging light in our den. It is very delicate. He took it down & determined that I would need a specialty store to look at it. Sump pump in crawl space didn't seem to be working. He checked the water line & it was ok. The hose on the whole house dehumidifier in crawl space needed to be cleaned so it would work again.

I spoke to David Spain once or twice about the work I needed outside my home prior to our appointment. He was very accommodating of my schedule's restrictions (2 little kids at home) and he, in fact, called to see if I would like him to come a bit earlier, as he had finished his last project sooner than expected. That was fine in fact and actually welcomed! I got to have an early start on my appointment time and I was able to explain the location requirements of the exterior outlet I needed installed and I was also able to point out what I thought might be a potential hazard with the electrical outlets inside my garage. David agreed with me concerning that issue and was willing and quick to correct it and also to install my new backyard outlet! All the work that was performed by David was very professional. It was a pleasure to have him in and around my home, talking to me about my options and advising me as a professional electrician. I am so happy I went with DTS Electric, Inc. and i will definitely call on David again!

I found Mr. Spain to be efficient and helpful. As the motion sensor operation required a purchase we had not originally counted on, we arranged for Mr. Spain to make the necessary purchase; he then completed that work the following week for $70. He also looked at and advised me on two other jobs that will need to be done some time in the coming year.

He returned my call the next day. Since it wasn't an emergency we schedule the appointment a couple days later. He came in the time frame. Called before he camed. I showed him what wasn't working and the circuit breakers. He saw why it was flipping, replaced the breaker - discoverd a few more sockets not working outside - gave me an estimate it I wanted to replace.

He was on time, early in fact, did a clean job and no problems. nice touch with the thank you note afterwards. did what he said in less time than he said.

Dave arrived on time - actually earlier than expected -- which is what I had requested -- so that was great!. After doing a detailed diagnosis we discovered that two of the 3 issues were not electrical, but rather, manufacturer issues and user error! The third was something that I needed a new part for. At the end of it all, Dave didn't accept any money for his services and time ... he was just glad to help. I will definitely be calling him when the replacement part arrives. Highly recommend this company!

I run a home care agency, and we take care of seniors in their homes, which are often older. One of my caregivers got shocked by a switch in a client's bathroom, so I contacted DTS. Dave came out to the client's home within a day, gave her a report of things that would make the home safer, and charged a little less than his original quote. He was polite, responsive, professional--and trustworthy. My clients--the elderly--are vulnerable. I am very protective of them, especially when it comes to strangers doing trouble-shooting services in their homes. (In fact, the primary reason for my joining Angie's List was to identify reputable and trustworthy service providers for my clients.) I would feel comfortable recommending DTS to my other clients, absolutely.

It was a very good experience. David arrived on time and was very personable. During the installation, David explained what he was doing and why. In addition, when he was done, he explained how to operate the switch. Each of the circuits were labeled and tested.
