It worked out very good. He came to check out the heater because it wasn't functioning. He was able to fix it while doing something small. He didn't charge anything extra for fixing it. He was very honest and I appreciated that. I would use him again in the future.

I wish they had in the deal description that it does not apply for oil heaters. I feel like I wasted a week while I was waiting to hear back from him. I specified in the initial email that it was for an oil heater, so there was a lack of communication and follow up after the purchase.

He arrived with slippers on his shoes. He checked the filter and determined it was clean. Then he vacuumed the inside of the heater for quite some time. New home for me and wasn't sure when the heater was last serviced and he said some areas were clean and others weren't. He cleaned a part that was tarnished that he said would cause me trouble this winter. Then turned on the heater and said that everything sounded fine. Overall I feel he did a great job and will use than in the future.

I spoke to them over the phone and they listened to what I said. They said they didn't need to come out. I used their advice. They were responsive and professional.

I bought The Big Deal for this company only to find out that they do not service my area. I appreciate them letting me know about it and that I can get a refund through Angie's List. The problem is though, on their profile it says they service my town so I'm not sure if that's the company's fault or Angie's List, but it should be addressed by someone.

I purchased the Big Deal on Angie's List for a furnace inspection and maintenance. I was promptly contacted by the owner Gerry McGlinn to set-up an appointment at a convenient time. Gerry showed up when he said he would and set about to perform the service in a through and expeditious manner. He made it a point to explain what he was doing and provide helpful recommendations. I really appreciated the fact that while furnace installations are the mainstay of his business, he did not try to sell me on a new system since mine was still operating ok. I was very satisfied with the service and Gerry is an all around nice guy and I would definitely use his company again and consider him if/when the time comes for a new system.

Jerry McGlinn came out to look at our heater on a Sunday. He was extremely knowledgeable and said he felt the existing heater, which was installed 23 years ago, was too big for our house and that could have contributed to the heat exchanger cracking. He promised to provide a estimate by Tuesday and he did. He gave me two full proposals for a properly sized heater: for a one-stage unit and one for a two-stage unit. We opted for the two stage unit. We had gotten a previous proposal for an American Standard unit which we didn't know anything about. We felt we had had such good luck with Bryant (only two service calls in 23 years) that we wanted to go with Bryant. Jerry installed the heater a week later. He came with one other man. And it took them about six hours to take the old heater out and install the new one. He ran into a problem accessing a drain and had to put a hole in a wall but that turned out to be a good thing because the plumbing behind the wall was loose. He was apologetic about the hole and tried a few things to get around it but unfortunately, nothing worked. And we were not at all upset about the hole. I got my plumber out the next day and he took care of it. We are very happy with McGlinn & Son. In fact, without me knowing it at the time, it turns out he does all my aunt's heating repairs in Philadelphia.

We called McGlinn & Son when our 2 year old Bryant high efficiency gas furnace began to malfunction shortly after we had our home pressure cleaned. Apparently cleaning solution had made its way into our furnace air intake causing corrosion that prevented the burner from igniting and our first step was to contact the installer (a differnt company) for service. We continued to experience malfunctions after the installer service visit, though the problems were of a different nature (the furnace would now ignite but shut off after a few minutes and report a temperature limit switch error). Gerry McGlinn was kind enough to offer suggestions over the phone, free of charge, to help us restore our furnace to working order, but these were not successful. Due to scheduling conflicts we contacted a third company to come out and look at the heater, but the technician that company sent had no experience with our furnace, resulting in wasted vacation time and our furnace still not working. When the first opportunity arose, Gerry McGlinn came to our home and methodically stepped through the testing procedure and found that the furnace had been improperly adjusting by the technician (from the company that had installed the furnace) who had responded to our initial service request. This was a difficult problem to diagnose because it had been caused by improper servicing, and Gerry's methodical and professional practices discovered and corrected the problem. There have been no issues with the furnace since the service was done.

Very well done; quoted promptly, quick follow-up; accurate information; arrived on date and time promised, installed quickly; cleaned up and left the place spotless; This company was very responsive and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future.

Prompt, courteous and professional. Reason for not using was timing ..... current system was down and competitive company repaired for no charge (pending purchase of new system).

The experience with them was excellent. They're very experienced, knowledgeable and were price conscious. They came up a couple of times and they didn't even charge for anything. He actually had a claim in some of the things. He could have charged me for stuff but didn't and went to the manufacturer for getting paid. I wouldn't have known the difference. That's what impresses me.

He came out and explained everything to us and left samples. He said he would come back if we had any other questions. He emailed me the price for all of the systems and I picked out the one I wanted. He came in and installed the system, explained everything to us and cleaned up and it was fantastic. They cleaned everything up and took the old system out too and you would never even know they were here. I will continue to use them in the future.

He didn't have the relay switch so he had to leave and go get it. He was very quick. He put the heater in 14 years ago. If he can't come out he will tell me how to fix it, but I don't know if he does that with everybody. He doesn't even live in the area any more but he will come down for me. He used to be relatively close but now he is not anywhere close but he still comes down to work for me.

Gerry was punctual, knowledgeable and professional. He provided a free estimate with no pressure to employee his services. His estimate was spot on and I am very pleased with his work. I will certainly refer him to others and use him again.

I was very impressed with Gerry's professionalism and directness when we were getting the estimate. We chose a top of the line system due to the rebates and tax incentives. It seemed like a big job but everything was done quietly and efficiently. He always came when he said he would and the job took the time he said it would. I would recommend him to my neighbors/friends.

McGlinn is highly qualified and knows what he is talking about. He is responsive and tells you exactly when you can expect him. He always calls before he comes with update reports. We had an unusual situation with a fan and he was able to find it for us and install it. He went the extra mile and told us how long everything would take. He was very honest and everything was exactly as he said it would be. I would definitely recommend him.

Great. Called him out and he provided a free estimate (gave me all of my options). I had three other companies provide estimates as well. McGlinn was NOT the cheapest, but I felt like they would do the best job. Strong attention to detail. Gerry McGlinn personally did or oversaw ALL work. Very thorough installation, assisted with financing, etc. The system is a huge improvement over my old one and is better/more efficient than I expected. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We are thrilled with the new system (it has reduced our winter heating bills by over 60%!) and thought they provided excellent customer service. We recommend this contractor!

What a pleasure! This is essentially a one person company, and dealing directly with the owner we could see how much pride he takes in his work and reputation. His bid was about 10% lower than the others for essentially the same components. We returned home from vacation to find the a/c not working; he added refrigerant to the system to keep us cool until he could get the new system installed, which was done very professionally, with one helper, in slightly less than one day, right down to the final, thorough cleanup. Being a very small business, his cash flow situation requires him to request immediate payment and not accept credit cards, but he gave an additional discount for larger down payments.

I WAS GIVEN THE CHOICE OF THREE DIFFERENT HEATERS, AND HAD THE PROS AND CONS OF EACH EXPLAINED TO ME. THE ONE I CHOSE WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE, BUT ALSO THE QUIETEST AND MOST FUEL EFFICIENT. THE WORKERS WERE FRIENDLY, QUIET AND POLITE. THEY INTERFERED WITH MY ROUTINE AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, AND WERE GOOD WITH MY DOG. THEY REMOVED ALL DEBRIS, AND LEFT THE WORK AREAS NEAT AND CLEAN. I FELT QUITE COMFORTABLE HAVING THEM IN MY HOME, AND WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM AGAIN.

THE COMPANY WAS EXCELLENT. THEY WORKED EXTREMELY HARD, QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY.
