BQ Basement systems waterproofed our basement. We picked them due to the level of information shared with us and the price. They brought multiple staff for the work. We are pleased with the service provided and the quality of work performed.

ll have to find someone else to repair it. I even got solicitation phone calls to call for service during this whole thing.
Description of Work: After getting tired of water in the basement, I obtained quotes from 3 basement waterproofing companies. BQ seemed the most professional and seemed to have the best solution. That part has turned out to be true. No more water in the basement. However after getting calls for 6 months about scheduling routine maintenance I made an appointment. The appointment was for 3 months later and about 48 hours before they were scheduled to come out they canceled. This happened 3 times. The last time spoke with Diane and while she was not overally sorry, she did say the service would be complementary. then they canceled again 24 hours before they were scheduled to come. I never called again and they never bothered to call to reschedule (I always had to). So eventually If the system ever breaks I wi

The sales person, Greg Marren, who came out to estimate the job and explain the ins and outs of what they would do, was seasoned, competent, courteous, and professional. He was not a high pressure sales guy, but rather someone who communicated well in a relaxed manner and followed through on whatever he said or promised. I had other bids, but Greg sold the job hands down. BQ came on time, did what they said they would do in record time, and left after two days with the job done and things cleaned up well. Their team was industrious, courteous, professional and punctual. All in all, a job well done from start to finish. This spring we will put their work to the test. I am confident we will have a dry basement. Thanks BQ!
Description of Work: We had been getting one to several gallons of water along the foundation walls of our basement after rainfalls. It appears that the the French drain system of our 20-year old house was starting to clog and fail. We had BQ Basement Waterproofing come out and install their complete waterproofing system around the entire interior perimeter of our basement..

They were very professional. They communicated very well. They were very punctual and did a great job of explaining what was going on at all times. They made sure everything was covered and dust-free and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to everyone.

All went well. Company rep came, did a check of what had to be done and gave me an estimate. I had two other estimates. One higher and one lower. Comparing what each company planned, I found BQ to offer the best value and I was impressed with the rep's knowledge and ability to answer all questions honestly. Work was scheduled and they showed up on time (7:00AM) and finished by 4:30 PM. Everything was done as agreed. They cleaned up very nicely and I was able to put my basement back in order quickly. I paid one third down when I signed the contract and the rest on a plan that allowed me to pay over six months same-as-cash. They offered additional services, such as new walls and a second sump pump but there was no pressure to do more than I wanted. I am very pleased with the job, and I feel I got my money's worth.
Description of Work: Installed drains around walls of basement to prevent basement flooding. Also two window drains and new sump pump with battery back-up.

We had the best experience of our life. They used rolled down plastic so they wouldn't get their muddy boots inside my home. They had to use a jack hammer and I don't know how they did this but they did not disturb anyone in the house with the jack hammer. It took about 2 1/2 hours and they were gone and it was like you never even knew they were here. It was amazing.

Someone answered my call on the first try and scheduled an appointment for the estimate. They showed up on time and took measurements and then submitted a written estimate. They were professional and very accommodating to the renter in the property. I felt they had the best solution to the water problem- a double sump pump with a battery back-up. The price was competitive and they managed to keep things relatively clean for a very dirty job. They did not pressure me to sign up right away as other companies did. I would recommend them highly. I have not had a water problem since they did the work.

The installation crew was very conscientious and did an excellent job not only on the installation but addressing any concerns I had. They arrived at the stated time on Monday morning and finished mid-afternoon on Tuesday. They were very careful and kept everything as clean as possible. I'm very satisfied with the job they did.
Description of Work: Installed channel system along bottom of basement walls with two sump pumps and battery backup. The pumps are attached to pipes that are underground outside and drain out onto the downslope of my lawn. New windows were installed and my window wells each have a drain that is connected to the interior channel with a new well container and cover for each well.

They did a really good job actually. They were very professional. I didn't feel they were trying to take me for more than the problem really was. They were on time. I would use them again definitely if the need arose. They were honest. They gave me a best case and they also gave me a couple steps down that would work also.

Their pricing was fair, but we had a little bit of an issue with the sump pump right afterwards. It was effective but we had trouble with the wall system so the water wasn’t going to the sump pump. I just wasn’t totally satisfied.

They did a fine job. They were wonderful and were very clean. They used to walk through the house, going down to the basement and getting messed up there but they would take off their shoes and put plastic sheeting. Their price was reasonable.

This did not go well at all. I called vendor regarding sump pump installation with back-up, leaving my name, cell #, and services requested. I received a call back asking me what I wanted. Again, I repeated and gave them my cell # and explained the services that I desired. I received another telephone call weeks later trying to sell me a basement waterproofing system. Told individual that I wanted sump with battery back up. He said someone would call me back. I never received a telephone call.

Jim Zaccario met with me and described in detail how they would address the problem. He gave me a proposal and we set a date for the work to be done. The crew arrived on time, set up their materials and protected the carpeting over the entire area. The work was completed on time and the supervisor reviewed the work after they finished. They cleaned up everything and the room looks as good as new. What a terrific experience.
Description of Work: I had water leaking through the foundation in one section of my basement. The area of leakage was not large, comparable to a crawl space. BQ sealed the foundation cracks and installed a sump pump in the area to insure that the basement stayed dry.

After contacting the company, they contacted me within a day or two, They were very professional and choose an appointment that was convenient for me. They sent me information in the mail which I found very helpful. I had to cancel the first appointment due to death in the family. They were understanding and accomodating. When the gentleman called to confirm my appointment, I asked a few questions about the work the company does and explained to him my situation with the basement. He gave similar information than what I received from another company. He suggested I contact a mold testing company. Therefore, I ended up cancelling my appointment. If I needed any of the work they performed, I would give them a call again..

We obtained a quote to address water leaking into our garage. After getting our original quote, we got water damage in another area, so we got an updated estimate and ended up waterproofing the entire perimeter of our garage. BQ Basement systems was co-operative with our changing requests, and we good at informing us about scheduling and timing. They arrived when they said they would, and finished in their estimated time. It was a good experience, and we are using them again to do some work in our basement. I can't comment much about pricing because I don't have a lot of experience and don't know what the work is worth, exactly. However, the quote seemed reasonable and in line with others in the field.

We contacted BQ for several problems. The chief problem was water seepage through the basement wall. We were under the impression that BQ will suggest something to stop or reduce the seepage. But instead they advised us to use CleanSpace, a system of wall covering membranes which will keep the moisture on the wall side. They also suggested an upgrade to the sump pump we had and a dehumidifier to take care of any excess moisture. We were a little hesitant about the CleanSpace solution. It seemed that we were just hiding the problem instead of solving it. We also were not ready for replacing a still working sump pump. We, therefore, decided to get the dehumidifier instead. BQ has their own branded dehumidifier, SaniDry. SaniDry is also available in the market under a different name. BQ's quote was considerably higher. When I discussed the price difference with the salesman, I was offered a discount. But even after the discount, the difference of price was several hundred dollars. To be fair, BQ also brings the dehumidifer home and installs it at no additional cost. But the installation involves placing it at the right location and connecting it. Also, online sellers ship free. In any case, I decided to go with BQ as I did not want the hassle of bringing a heavy equipment down to the basement myself. The technician arrived on time, was courteous and ready to answer questions. What I didn't like: (1) To bring the dehumidifier to my front door, the technician opened the packaging on the driveway and rolled/pushed it along my very uneven and narrow walkway, instead of lifting it or carrying it on a trolley. The walkway is bumpy. It definitely was not a good idea. I would consider this an unacceptably rough way of handling new equipment. (2) The water outlet tube was kinked. (3) I was assured that somebody from BQ's office will call me after the installation and address any concern I might have; only then they will take the final payment from my credit card. But nobody bothered to call. The charge appeared after about a week though. What I liked: (1) The salesman was patient and eager to discuss any issue.
Description of Work: BQ Basement Systems installed one SaniDry Upright dehumidifier in my basement. The installation involved bringing the dehumidfier down to the basement and plugging it in. The water outlet of the dehumidifier is a transparent plastic pipe. The end of this pipe was just dropped into the hole where the sump pump sits. The dehumidifier is on wheels. So positioning it near the sump hole involved just rolling it to the correct location, no lifting.

I have water getting in my basement every time it rains. I had another company besides this one come out and inspect it as well. Both company's agreed that I need a new drain system put in my basement along the wall where the water is getting in. The first company gave me a quote of $6400.00 but that also includes a complete gutting of all the moldy material in my basement and disposal of it in a safe way. The BQ basement inspector who came out said they would not get rid of any of my old moldy material, they would not gut anything, and he said I would have to contain the mold myself, gut everything, and dispose of it before they came to my home to put in the water drainage system. They gave me a quote of almost $6900.00...ridiculous. I would never use this company again. The company that gave me the first quote is just as professional, they have an "A" grade with Angie's list and they are also "service award" winners.
Description of Work: The only thing I got done with this company was an inspection, that's it.

My issue is they are purely motived to have homeowners spend as much as possible. What could be a less expensive fix is not even offered or considered. I have had two other contractors look at their work and both said they needed to add a drainage pathway to the original system. I asked the salesman about this and he said he would look into it and give me a price. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath. This company only does "cookie cutter work" and does not stand behind their work. They may even purposely be substandard in order to never address the problem so that the homeowner is forced to spend additional money. lets face it, their motivation is for the cheaper version of what is offered to fail so they can come back and really hose you. shame on them!
Description of Work: I called BQ basements based on reviews in Angies list, after a flood during a storm last year. I bought the "base service" wr hich was a new sump pump system and outside line with a freezing prevention attachment. My basement flooded again after Irene. When I called BQ for help- I wanted someone to simply come out and examine it to be sure it is functioning ok, I was greeted by a secretary who immediately became defensive as if I asked for something outrageous. I also notified her that one of the parts in the outside line was cracked and that when the pump drained, water came flying out every which way instead of out the end as it was supposed to. The woman gave me a date about a month later to have someone come "service" the system and of course that would cost another $150. As far as the cracked line outside- it has been weeks since I called and no service for that. They did send a salesman out to igive me the standard lecture on how I needed the "upgraded system" which would be an additional $5000. When I asked about someone looking at what they initially did, the salesman became defensive and even angry.

We got a quote to replace our existing interior perimeter drain, which over the years has clogged with soil. BQ representative was prompt and friendly, and while he gave a 'sales pitch' it was not high pressure. He provided a price on site using a pricing tool on his laptop, so that gave me some confidence that his price was solid and a fairly honest quote. He also offered a discount of 5% if we signed on in the next few days. Price above was his estimate, before any discounts. In the end we did not go with BQ because we were not confident that their system was a good fit for our situation. We would rather have a more traditional deep trench, since we have a lot of water inundation from beneath the floor.

They were awesome. They advertised a big deal where they would give you a sump pump for $189 installed. When they came over, they said that they couldn’t do that for $189. They would take off $189 on a $15000 estimate. That was the only thing which disappointed me. They were very nice and good, but I didn’t like that part of the deal. I wouldn’t use them again in the future.

We found BQ to be very professional, responsive, and efficient. Our questions were all addressed, even though they had been asked a couple times. The BQ people said that the team would arrive between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM the day they were to do the work and that it might take 2 days to complete. The BQ team arrived earlier than expected at 6:55 AM and completed the project all in one day, exceeding out expectations. We didn't find a high pressure sales strategy used on us. All information provided in advance of our decision was very thorough, informative, and complete. Previous to having the system put in we had "puddling" even with a small amount of rain. 5 days after installation we had a heavy downpour. Not one bit of water on our basement floor. Now the real test comes with a really heavy consistent rain over a few days. We are very optimistic. Well done BQ!

Found this service provider through a "big deal." Got B for punctuality only because first appointment was canceled 10 minutes after it was supposed to start, for illness. I was surprised he waited that long to notify me when he surely knew all morning he was sick. Company called promptly to re-schedule, though, and second appointment with different guy was prompt. Also didn't charge extra for a Saturday appointment or make me wait until they were already going to be in my area, which was pretty awesome. The technician was great. Had to try to sell me an expensive system, but we both cheerfully went through the motions, then he did a great job doing the work he'd come out to do. Would definitely use again.
