Description of Work: We bought a new house and as a surprise for our kids, we wanted to have a swing set installed in the week between our settlement & our move in date. I did a bit of looking on line at local swing set dealers and knew that Creative Playthings was on the high-end but offered a lot of options. We went to the show room at lunch and admit that everything seemed ENORMOUS. We spent some time with the manager looking at different configurations that would grow accomodate our kids now and in the next few years. We walked away with options in every price range and a lot to discuss. | |A week or two later, assuming we would buy and assemble a model from the big box stores, I called to ask about the size of some of the models not at the show room. When I spoke to Colleen (I think it was Colleen) we spoke again about some of the smaller non module units. She then mentioned that there was a large set on clearance for almost the same price. She sent me a flyer & the whole transaction was done on the phone inclusive of establishing a delivery date within our window. | |We called a few days before delivery to try to confirm time. They assured us that we were up first that day and the installer arrived about 8:00am and got to work. Unfortunately, the ladder was mistakenly not delivered so the installer went back, picked it up, and retruned the same day to complete the job on the day as schedule.

+ -1 moreWe have had a disappointing experience with Creative Playthings and wanted to share our experience to save others the trouble and hassle of dealing with them. We purchased their top-of-the-line cedar playset (which they no longer offer) a little over 4 years ago and paid for it to be professionally installed, as we felt more comfortable about its safety with professional installation. Initially, we were pleased with the product and service. Now, just over 4 years later, every piece that touches the ground has developed soft, mushy spots and the wood is simply wearing away. We contacted the company and while they are willing to provide replacement pieces, they are unwilling to cover the cost of shipping or installation, despite the extensive damage which has rendered the playset unsafe and worthless to us. Since their supposed highest quality product is worthless after only 4 years and they are unwilling to step up and remedy the situation, we strongly recommend you do not do business with them. UPDATE: Creative Playthings has since contacted us and is going to remedy the problem at no additional cost to us.

+ -1 moreThe service at the store was excellent. We got very good and objective advice from the store manager. He scheduled the installation for the week after we bought the playground. The installation couldn't be faster and the final result was very good. We have been enjoying the playground from the moment the crew left. Not a single splinter!

+ -1 moreALTHOUGH CREATIVE PLAYTHINGS IS A BIT PRICEY, WE FEEL THAT IT IS WELL BUILT AND LONG LASTING. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER OUR EQUIPMENT WAS INSTALLED, SOMETHING CAME LOOSE AND THEY CAME RIGHT OUT TO FIX IT.
Description of Work: WE BOUGHT PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AND THEY INSTALLED IT 2 WEEKS LATER.
