 + -1 moreSalesman is very helpful, professionial. Quality of their product is excellent. However, when it comes to their installation it's a fiasco. Rude, belligerent installer on front door. Salesman follow-up corrected all the problems. Second door same thing poor installation. Needed two follow ups to correct problems. Just sloppy workmanship. Spoke with the manager and he did fix the problems, but he's totally clueless about his installers (or doesn't want to hear it). Will never call them back. Try Home Depot for this product and use their installers.

 + -1 moreRenewal had a man come out and measure for the windows. My husband had measured as well. When they did the living room and dining room, everything was fine. When they did the bedroom, the window was too small. They said they could put in a filler. My husband said no. Your man mis-measured it. So they agreed to put in a window to fit. They were agreeable and didn't give us a hassle.

 + -1 moreEveryone in their company who has been to my place has been top notch. My experience with them has been fabulous and I have been thrilled and happy. They do what they are supposed to do. They were very responsive when I called and set up an appointment at my convenience. They came out and told me what they would do and how they would do it since it is a really tricky job. They have made me feel really comfortable about the windows going to fit. They are really experienced and detailed in their job. They have a warranty. I would use them again in the future.

 + -1 moreI am sure that windows projects are always a hassle for the homeowner, but I think Renewal by Andersen did a fine job in making things as easy as possible, from the initial sales meeting up through the installation. We especially appreciated the open communication with the company - after signing the sales contract we were even provided with a foldout brochure titled "What's Next? Relax...here's everything you need to know" that showed us what to expect and who would be providing services both in the home and behind the scenes. A couple of times I had follow-up questions, and Dan was always available with the answers. Scheduling for window measurements and installation were done well in advance, and service personnel were always punctual. However, our experience did not stop when the installers left. Unfortunately the interior trim around the two picture windows had cosmetic defects that we did not notice on the day the windows were installed. It was at this point we began dealing directly with the operations manager Mike. The guarantees provided with this project give us 20 years limited warranty on the glass, 5 years limited warranty on the installation, and 10 years limited warranty on non-glass components. So we expected the company would take care of the defects, and I can report that Mike did not disappoint us. He was very gracious and accommodating in making everything right and all I can say is - what a relief! So, the upshot is that we are extremely pleased with our new windows and with Renewal by Andersen, a company that took good care of us not only before the sale but after the sale as well.
Description of Work: We needed replacement of all 12 original wood-framed double-hung windows in our 48-year old home. Due to deterioration of the framing, we knew this project would require full-frame installation (and would therefore be pricey). So our main focus was on quality and appearance, not on price. After researching on Angie's List and elsewhere, we decided to go with Renewal by Andersen. The sales rep Dan was very courteous and helped us through the thicket of choices. We decided to replace two of our double-hung windows with picture windows and keep the remaining ten windows as double-hungs. All windows would be high-performance low-E4 SmartSun glass. Interior trim would be light cherry stain on maple, and exterior would be "cocoa bean" (brown). Interior hardware would be antique brass. The installers Kevin and Garrett were extraordinary, as I believe our home presented a number of challenges due to odd sizing, tight spaces, etc., and they easily surmounted all of these difficulties. It also rained both days of the installation. I should mention that the new federal law (as of 2010) dealing with lead content required testing of the exterior paint on our old windows (this had been done when our windows were initially measured), and it turned out that the paint on our old living room windows contained excessive levels of lead. This meant that, by law, the installers had to use special lead-safe techniques when working in the living room to minimize exposure to construction dust. When it was done, the change in appearance of our home was wonderful and breathtaking. We especially like the new picture windows, one in the dining room and one in the living room. Whereas the living room had previously been outfitted with three adjoining double-hung windows, we now have a large picture window bracketed by two narrower double-hungs. If I succeed in uploading a picture, it will show the living room windows with their 10-foot long sill.

 + -1 moreWe were very pleased with the windows, the salesman and the installers. They had a good rating online. They did a wonderful job. We still talk about it especially today since we are having a very cold day. We really liked the windows. They were very professional and clean. The installers cleaned up afterwards. The salesman wasn?t pushy at all. It was a good company to deal with. It was a good experience. They were a little bit higher than some other companies, but it was well worth it. We truly did get what we paid for. We would definitely use their services again, but I don?t think we will since we replaced all the windows at one time. We would definitely recommend them to other people.

We decided that instead of replacing all the windows, we wanted the windows that we were getting to blend in. That?s why we went with another company. If need be, then we would use their services in the future.

The installers didn't point that out at the time (they could be pushed in from the outside, but not if removed from the inside). The fixes were done well and promptly once the defects were pointed out.
