I called the number for Jim and the instructions ask you to call Kathi at another number. Having left two messages for other companies and not receiving calls back, I was hesitant to leave a message. Kathi was very responsive, calling back the very same day. She took all of my information and within a week, I had an estimate at my house for the removal of two dying trees. I was very pleased with the estimate, so I called right away to schedule. Jim is a busy man, which I now totally understand why, so Kathi let me know it would be 3-4 weeks and ensured I was ok with that time-frame before proceeding. I was fortunate in that there was an earlier opening, so I jumped on the chance when Kathi called me back to offer me a new day. I wasn't able to be home, but they said that was no problem, they would leave me the bill when they were completed. I came home last night to an immaculate yard with two dead trees gone. I really couldn't be more pleased and impressed with the experience from beginning to end. Kathi was wonderful to work with, very straight-forward, efficient, and accurate. Jim and team (who I unfortunately didn't get to meet yesterday) literally left my yard better than they found it. (Sorry for all the branches and leaves in the yard guys) I would recommend this company to EVERYONE in the Monroeville, Churchill, Penn Hills area. I have some tree trimming that needs done later this year. I'll be using Jungle Jim's again, no question!

Provider came on day and time specified. Work was done quickly, but with care for surrounding areas. Cleanup was excellent! Workers were friendly and professional.

Jungle Jim's Tree Service was professional, polite, and efficient. The work they did was excellent ! The team is expedient and all were perfectionists especially Jim. We cannot say enough good about the work they did and highly recommend them.

It was amazing. These trees were very large and tall oak trees and one was next to and overhanging my house and deck. Jim was very methodic in scaling the tree and removing the limbs. His crew worked continuously and in sync all day long. They were very meticulous about the clean up as well. My yard was cleaner when they were done than before they started. I was very entertained watching the process. There was little room between the one tree and my house and the neighbor's fence. he dropped everything within 5 feet of the base of the tree essentially. It was very impressive. They were very skilled and very conscious not to damage my property. I am very pleased with the service and the outcome and would definitely use Jungle Jim's again and will certainly refer him to others.

I had Jungle Jim drop off the estimate for the removal of an ash tree. I called about a month later to schedule the service. His secretary, Kathi, told me they would try to squeeze me in within the next two weeks when they were in the area since it was a small job. I received a call on August 6th saying they could be at my property within an hour to take care of the tree. The guys arrived and quickly cut down the tree, cleaned up the yard then later ground out the stump and filled the hole with chips. It is worth noting that they successfully cut down the tree, limbs of which were in contact with an electrical line, without issue. This was the 2nd time this year I had used Jungle Jim's Service. I like the fact that even though I may have small jobs they will still try to fit me in the schedule usually within 2 weeks. Whenever I have interacted with the workers, they have always been polite and professional. I will continue to use them and highly recommend the service.

It took about 3 weeks from the time of the estimate for the work to be done, which I felt was reasonable. They arrived promptly and worked in an efficient and professional manner. They asked me questions to make sure they were doing what I wanted. The men were polite and considerate at all times. The work was well done and the clean up was fantastic. I didn't have to do any clean up. I would recommend this company in a heart beat!!

OUTSTANDING!!!! We were so lucky to have hired Jim and his crew. He arrived on time with a crew of 5-6, a bucket truck, massive wood chipper, and two work trucks to haul away logs. Locust #1 was half-dead, covered in grape vines and tangled in the electrical supply lines for the neighboring property. It was also at least 50 ft tall. Locust #2 was 3/4 dead, and about 65-75 ft. tall. The silver maple had two trunks, and already begun to have limbs break from the weight of the grape vines. All were located on a steep incline and between two buildings with only 25-30 of space in which to work. The men worked quickly and efficiently and Jim evaluated the neighbor's 100' black locust, which was also in very bad shape and removed all limbs that were in danger of dropping on our garage and kept to his original quote. I've already recommended him to anyone and everyone who needs a tree service. It takes a while to get him booked, but he is worth the wait!!

Provided an estimate that was 1/2 what other companies quoted. Came out within a week and removed the trees. Super fast and easy. I will definately be calling them sgain!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I couldn't get through to Jungle Jim so he left a number to call his "secretary"Kathy. Honestly I had more cordial conversations with a grizzly. This person seemed VERY lazy and not interested in my business what-so-ever. When I mentioned I was in Franklin Park she said: "I don't even know where thats at." I explained it was in the north end of pittsburgh. This seems to be on the other side of the country to Jim's secretary Kathy, so she proceeded to be rude about how big the tree was, what size was the trunk and if it was even worth Jim's time to come out to look at it. When I mentioned that it's only a few miles north she said "Get someone who lives near yinz ta look at it!" and hung up on me. I'm glad small businesses and the economy is doing so well that they can pick and choose their customers and who they are rude to. I would avoid these lazy losers at all costs.

It didn't go at all. I finally made contact with a 'Jungle Jim' rep after numerous attempts. The lady I spoke with was rude and unprofessional and I could barely understand what she was saying. After this one call I crossed 'Jungle Jim' off my list. If they're too busy and rude to answer simple questions I certainly don't want to do business with them.

They did a great job. They called when they had an opening and asked if today was ok, and I said sure, come on over. They were in and out in no time. They kind of stacked the wood for you, and their gone. Then I had to get someone else to fill the hole in.

I have not used him but u like him. He came over quickly and I will us it whenever I get around to taken care of that tree.

Great- they removed the tree and cleaned the area. It was gone in less then an hour. Great work and price. will call again to remove the second tree.

I searched and researched Angie's list, Google, & even talked to people in my area before picking someone. I received 5 quotes on removing all of the 40-50ft, 50+ year old Spruce pine trees that the previous owner had planted many years ago. Most of my quotes were up around where I expected.... expensive. After all, It was a lot of work to be done. In comes Jungle Jim, and he might as well have swung in from a vine. Jim came by without me needing to be here using the instructions I gave over the phone and left his quote on the door for us. He out quoted all of the others, $2500 less the the 2nd best price I had actually. I received a call on a Thursday night that they had an opening and could start the next morning at 8 am, and knowing that it was the start of their busy season being since spring was around the corner, I took it. 8 am comes and as scheduled here comes 4 trucks & 5 guys up my hill. They got right to work as I gave a few instructions to Jim that I wanted to keep about 10ft of a few bigger trunks, then mentioned to him the 20 or so Yew stumps left over along the house from where I trimmed and cut those out last summer. Without worry, Jim said they'll grind those for me if I wanted them to. Awesome. They worked until around lunch time on Friday. Using their bucket truck Jim cut down the trees that were accessible. After that, I saw where the name "Jungle Jim" came from. Out came the climbing equipment... & Jim scaled the trees one at a time to work them down. They all disappeared for lunch & to empty their trucks for about an hour, then worked until about 4 or 5 pm. Still, 5 darn pines stood. Jim's only words were, "we shall commence on Monday". On Sunday I received a reminder call that they would be there around 8 am. Monday, 8 am... and here comes the 5 man crew ready to finish. They took care of the remaining 5 trees, their stumps, a few more Yew stumps for me, raked, cleaned up, and hit my lot with a power blower. So that is it, 24 pine trees + 46 or so stumps ground down in about a day and a half... and at the lowest price I found. VERY HAPPY home owner here. Thanks Jim & crew!!

It was very satisfactory too. They're very helpful and they basically cleaned up after their mess. They're very professional and they came to the side with equipment. They cut all the excessive branches over my garage which cost a lot of moss and issues with the garage roof. Basically, I told them I want all the branches to be cut no matter how high they are, off of my garage.

They were on time, and professional. They are right down the street from me so it works out perfect. I have used them before and will again.

Six men arrived at 8:00 AM. One climber, five minute men, one stump man, three trucks, one heavy chipper, one stump remover, six chain saws, blowers, rakes and 35 gallon cans. By 11:50 AM all work was completed, all material and debris removed and all work areas cleaned.

They had a large crew(6-8), worked very hard and very fast, and did a good job, with one caveat. They lowered large branch sections to ground with ropes as expected, but dropped large log sections leaving me with a dozen or so 4-6 in. deep 'pot holes'. I would, nevertheless, recommend them, and likely use them again.

I did my due diligence and received multiple estimates and checked references before proceeding. At first I almost made a quick decision because the first 2-3 estimates were about the same. One company almost made the decision for me because they showed up the following day and started climbing the tree with a chain saw without my authorization so I was lucky I was home and able to run out and stop them. Needless to say I didn't go with them. I received 3 more estimates and amazed that taking my time paid off. Jungle Jim's Tree Service beat everyone by far. I was hesitant to use them at first because their price was so much better than the others, but I read their reviews and they were all good, so I went with them. The only down side is that they are busy and booked weeks into the future, so I had to wait a little over a month before the cut. But when they showed up they were professional, organized, and extremely competent. My neighbor was so pleased he even had them remove a tree from his lot and move patio furniture while here, for a fee of course. I highly recommend Jungle Jims Tree Service and will definitely use them again in the future.

This was my first time using Jungle Jim and it was a great experience! I called for an estimate about 6 weeks ago for the removal of a large pine tree in my backyard (at least 80 feet tall); Kathy told me they would be out in 7-10 days to do the estimate. In the timeframe promised, Jim came out and provided a written estimate, which was very reasonable in comparison to others received. (Jungle Jim gives a senior discount which was greatly appreciated!) They were scheduling work 4-6 weeks out and we asked to be put and quot;on the scheduleand quot;. About a week later, I called Kathy when we decided we also wanted to have two stumps - one from a small tree and the other, a large shrub- removed. We agreed that someone would need to be at home on the day of the work to point out the additional work we wanted done. We received a call the day before to tell us the crew would be at our house at 7:30 am to start the work. Promptly at 7:30, they arrived. I was provided a quote of $100 additional to remove the two stumps I had added to the job. I then asked that another large shrub, two additional stumps from shrubs and some vines be removed. Jim added no more to the bill for this work - only the $100 agreed to for the first two stumps! They removed everything in short order. The crew was polite, professional and thorough. They cleaned up all debris and left my yard, porch and driveway clean. They dealt with tough conditions - my township currently is digging up the street in front of my home for a sewage project - and took it in stride. They even moved my car out my driveway and back again so I wouldn't have to negotiate the township's work on the street. I will call Jungle Jim for any future tree work and I will highly recommend them to my family and friends.

In 2013 I received a free estimate from this company on two oak trees in my backyard. The price was very reasonable, and the gentleman that did the estimate was very knowledgable and friendly. My wife and I had a financial set back and were unable to remove the trees after this estimate however. The following year when I had money for this work I noticed a dead willow, and a dead white ash that absolutely needed removed. When I called the business and explained the need for these two trees to be removed instead of the oak trees, I received a very rude reply from Cathy. Cathy was extremely rude and unappreciative of what happened with the initial estimate, and upset that a new estimate was needed. Furthermore, Cathy was hardly professional, and made sure to make me aware that they were busy and my business was not needed. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to the receptionist Cathy's behavior. This company stays busy apparently, and as a result they find it acceptable to treat people in this manner. I understand that asking for an additional free estimate is a hassle, but to this company it negates an entire job altogether.

Excellent service. They arrived right on time 7:30am and got right to work. Removed the tree in a couple hours ground out the stump and cleaned everything up. Other than the tree being gone you would not know the crew was even here. Highly recommend Jungle Jim's.

I've used Jungle Jim several times over the years. I have no reason to use anyone else. He is punctual, professional, honest (he told me a certain tree could not be trimmed until the Fall), and he leaves my property neater than it was before he did any work.
