At the time i paid what David claimed was due, i had not had a chance to inspect the work. I did not realize that his crew had failed to clean up. they left over 40 spots of white paint and/or plaster: on the basement floor, on the furnace air intakes, on the tools stored on the shelves of the room in which they were doing the work, on objects such as tool boxes and luggage stored in the basement where they were working, on our leather couch upstairs on the 1st floor, on our rugs and steps from the basement to the 1st floor, on our upholstered dining room chair seats and chair rungs, on our kitchen throw rugs, and on our outdoor porch furniture. I was pressured to pay the 50% remaining on the contract without inspection by a phone call from david who claimed he needed the money 'since his crew member was going on vacation.' thus i did not see the abysmal state of our cabin before i paid what David claimed we owed. When i arrived a week later, i was very angry at the poor cleanup job . i called David; David admitted he did not use 'drop cloths' because 'he forgot them' (although his crew did go out for pizza, as we saw their pizza box box in our kitchen trash. they apparently thought it not necessary to purchase the necessary drop cloths on their pizza shopping trip. ) without a contractor's properly draping the work area with drop cloths, the crew thus got paint and plaster dust all over the work area ( although lack of drop cloths does not explain how paint and plaster got all over our upstairs living room and dining room furniture...) the young man on his crew also used one of our pots , which I found ruined. I asked David how the pot came to be damaged and he advised that 'John' had burned spaghetti , and did not clean the residue. (The pot is now virtually unusable.) all communication ceased when we asked for our $500 credit for the uncompleted workbench . we are also owed compensation for the hours of cleaning time required to clean up ; unfortunately some of the stains appear to be permanent .
Description of Work: we received a bid for a very large wall to wall closet in our basement , and for construction of a 6 foot workbench along another basement wall in a ski cabin we own. (The quote was not the least expensive which we received.) the closet work was well done and completed according to the schedule discussed. the work bench was never completed (or begun) . I received a call on the friday before a holiday that David needed to be paid for the 50% balance of the job . I was not able to drop everything at home and drive an hour to view the work which David advised had been completed. David demanded the remainder of the contract fee since 'his crew was leaving on vacation.'

Job was unfinished. Paint colors between doors and the piece were not uniform. He was very unprofessional and kept harassing for more money even though job was very, very delayed and unfinished. We had to hire someone else to finish the cabinets and to repaint them. Would not recommend using.
Description of Work: Provider was to build two large cabinets for our living room. One was to have a built-in bar. He was building off site and then building into the room.
