The job went very well. The crew was prompt, professional and courteous and did excellent work. The work was done in a timely manner, and the area cleaned when finished. And while on the roof, took the initiative to clean out the gutters too! The really cool thing is Gary uses a drone to inspect and get pictures so you can see exactly what needs to be repaired and the finished work after.

He called on a Thursday, said he'd be out Tuesday and would email me an estimate by following Thursday. He came as promised on Tuesday, and left business card in my door. I waited for email estimate...and waited, and waited and 5 weeks later I'm still waiting. I called several times asking for it. Got zero response. Horrible business practices. Do not use.

Mr. Chismar pointed the chimneys and sealed them. He was prompt, coming on time, was very thorough, and very courteous. The leaking has stopped. He was extremely honest, the price was fair, and I could not be happier. I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

Chismar brick cleaning & pointing did an excellent job on my house. Certain parts of my house were in good shape and some parts really needed work/repointing. Mike came out a few days after I called and gave me an honest and fair estimate of the work needed to be done. They were quick, clean, friendly and responsive. I would definitely recommend them.

I contacted Mike and received a quote in April 2017. I accepted his quote and waited to get on the schedule. I called several times but he doesn't respond to calls but will respond to emails. He finally emailed me back on May 14, 2017 and was told he was sorry and very busy but he should be able to get me on the schedule in about 2-3 weeks. I never heard from him again and we have had major rain storms this summer. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Maybe my job wasn't big enough to get put on the schedule or even get a response.

Very professional and the work was of high quality. The mortar was dyed perfectly to match the existing bricks. We highly recommend and will use them for masonry needs in the future.

Excellent! My neighbor found Chismar Brick Pointing here on Angie's List. Mike called me back right away, came to give me an estimate the next day and emailed that estimate promptly. The work was scheduled quickly and completed exactly as planned. By far, the best experience in 26 years of homeownership. And my neighbor's house looks great too!

Mike and his crew did an excellent job. Our house is approximately 110 years old and I doubt it was ever cleaner or pointed before. It had all the Pittsburgh dirt and soot on the bricks and there were many bricks that badly needed to be pointed. We have a 2 story house so this was a huge job. One of the biggest surprises was the cleaning of our stone porch, which we didn't even consider. The stones were totally black. Who knew we had such beautiful yellow stones there? This is a really dirty job which took several weeks. Mike and his crew worked really hard. No matter what you do, there's going to be a mess around your house and yard, but they protected as much of our surroundings as they could, covering plants, removing everything from the front and back porches and so forth. When it was over, the grass was pretty much trampled and drowned and they put topsoil down and grass seed. This was a part of their service, not extra. When we discovered that the back porch gutter had gotten filled with sand, they took it down, cleaned it out entirely and replaced everything as it was. The difference in the look of our house is amazing. We could not be happier. It was well worth the money!

Everything went perfectly. Mike and his crew showed up on time and ready to work. He explained to me what they were going to do and answered any questions I had. Crew did their thing and a few hours later - voila - like a brand new chimney. I even got before and after pictures emailed to me. Don't look anywhere else if you need a chimney repair. He fixed the leak and re-pointed the chimney for me. His pricing was fair. He even fixed the leak in our cellar door with some re-pointing as well, at no charge. I would recommend him to anyone.

Mark came and took a look at our chimney and removed the loose brick (which was threatening to fall on someone's head). Then he later returned with his crew to repoint and cap the chimney. He also remortered a loose cinder block under my front porch. As always, Mark was polite, punctual and efficient.

After searching for weeks for someone who was willing to work on our somewhat unusual project, I found Mike's company. From the initial assessment of our project to completion, Mike was a man of his word. He called when he promised, showed up when he promised and made our wall look even better than we expected. His team of workers were upbeat, pleasant and respectful. They hung plastic to protect the rest of my kitchen from the dust and cleaned up the entire work area leaving the work area spotless. I can highly recommend Mike and his team.

Mike did a fantastic job for us. Our 90 year-old sandstone chimney needed to be repointed. The mortar was severely cracked and some of the stones were significantly deteriorated. I know this because when Mike came to do the estimate, he climbed up to the top of the chimney and stood on it to take pictures of the top and back of the chimney. I had at least four other masons look at this chimney and he was the only one to actually climb up there and figure out what was going on. He was also the only one to tell me that the wrong type of mortar had been used to repair the chimney in the past and that was a big part of the problem. We thought his cost estimate was fair based on the scope of the job. It took Mike and three of his guys five days on scaffolding to do the work, and the roof surrounding the chimney is slate. The chimney is a very large and high double flue stone chimney with an open archway in the middle. Very unique and now restored to its original glory. Many of the neighbors and locals who know the house have commented on how great it looks. His crew was punctual, polite, neat, and hardworking. They cleaned up the job site at the end of each day and left it perfect when the job was complete. We will be calling Mike soon to repoint a sandstone wall for us and to clean the brick on our home. I would not trust my masonry work to anyone else! I highly recommend him to anyone.
