I am a certified professional organizer who works with homeowners and businesses to organize any room in the home or any part of the business. I do an initial assessment that costs $25 and takes about an hour. We talk about challenges, what's not working, lifestyle, time frame, goals, and solutions and how I may be able to assist you with the project. I work one-on-one with clients and can also assign homework if the client is willing and motivated. I also provide referrals for other services such as cleaning, selling on eBay, real estate, and a long list of where to donate and recycle items that are no longer wanted.
Vali Heist provides an awesome service and has taught me many ways to streamline, organize, and eliminate items that are no longer necessary for me to keep. I typically donate the items to various organizations.

Vali has "saved me" on more than one occasion. I've turned to her in many situations over the past several years. She helped me turn a catch-all room into an efficient, functional office space. She's also helped me organize my basement, and during recent moves has been instrumental in my successfully "downsizing". From the moment she walked in the door and started her initial assessment, I knew I was in good hands. She asked all the right questions, seemed to understand how I'd ended up in my current situation, and quickly suggested a plan of action. I'd been overwhelmed by the magnitude of what I felt I needed to do, but Vali knew exactly where to start and the order in which we needed to proceed. By the time our first session was over, I had a functional workspace, and a sense of accomplishment, which motivated me to tackle other "problem" areas. Vali is very motivational when it comes to getting things done. I'm a procrastinator, and sometimes before an appointment I'll be second-guessing my decision to have her come over, but from the moment she walks in the door, there's a renewed sense of energy and motivation. It's amazing what can be done in a three-hour period when someone has a plan and can keep me/us on task. She is right there, by my side, working just as hard (if not harder) to make the most of our time and circumstances. Although she takes her job seriously, she doesn't judge or make assumptions. She's kind, supportive, and shows great empathy. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and I enjoy her company. I've always had a tendency to save things that I think may be useful for something in the future, and I also had a habit of picking up things "just because they looked cool" with no clear idea of where or when I'd use them. Vali has, over the years, kindly and gently helped me break these habits and has provided great insight and inspiration in regards to what matters most. I would highly recommend The Clutter Crew for any organizational needs - whether it's business or personal. I find that a less cluttered home or office leads to a less cluttered mind - and reducing the visual overload that can sometimes accompany "clutter" has greatly reduced my stress level.
Description of Work: I first hired The Clutter Crew to help me turn a junk room into an office. Vali's (the owner) first visit included an assessment. She took a look at the space, asked pertinent questions about my plans/goals for the space, made note of items that definitely needed to remain and probably had a great mental image of the many possibilities by the time she was done. She then made several suggestions, we discussed options, and then came up with a plan. Once the plan was agreed upon, we began to sort through the many piles of office supplies, the random "junk" that had just been thrown into the room because it was convenient, and the pieces of furniture. Vali had great suggestions on creative uses for different items, (her goal is to use what's available - she discourages buying new equipment or furniture unless absolutely necessary). After sorting, we made decisions about what needed to be kept in the room for office purposes. We also identified items that belonged in other rooms, items that could be donated or given away, items that could possibly be sold, and items that should be (gasp!) thrown away. (Vali is very gentle and kind during this process - I've never felt pressured to throw anything out.) The next step was to clear the space and move items to appropriate areas. Anything not being used in the office space was boxed or bagged and removed from the space. Vali later delivered several items to Goodwill and Re-Uzit and mailed me the receipts. The Clutter Crew will also sell your items on eBay for a fee - and in my case the eBay sales practically paid for The Clutter Crew charges!! At this point, the room was clear enough to begin setting up the office space. Furniture was rearranged, computers, printers, and work-related items were configured and set up, and storage options were established. This room really was packed full of "stuff" when Vali arrived for her first visit, so we had our hands full and the fact that we made it this far in less than four hours still amazes me. Although the workspace was much closer to being an office and would have been functional, after discussing next steps with Vali, I decided I wanted to have her come back to help me create an even more efficient workspace. I knew that having her there would motivate me and keep me on task and ultimately I had an office that was professional, functioned efficiently, and was appropriate for visiting clients.
