Sales Person was WAY to long (3 hours) on presentation and asked to use the bathroom twice durring presentation. Window quality was Great. Person who came with the finance papers polo shirt was on inside out. Workers were GREAT and very professional.Price was ok but I might have been able to shop around and find a cheaper price but sometimes hard to compare and did not want to sit through another sales presentation.

Install America installed replacement windows in our entire house including a huge bag window. Because of our unusual work schedule, they worked around my husbands schedule, came on his day off, and completed the job in one day!

These people were doing work in the neighborhood and a young man came down the street and asked if I needed any work done. I told him not at that time, but some day we will need a new roof, I made the mistake of giving him my phone number after asking that they NOT call. That was over a year ago and we are STILL getting harassing phone calls from these people several times a week!

Provider was very proactive and interested in job, especially since all paid for by Insurance. Once the contract was agreed to they seem to have gone off the grid. Part of the roofing has been completed. I can't get an answer as to when they may be able to complete the last section. The siding ordered was incorrect, despite having been specific as to what was needed and distributors who could provide it. Again, no answer as to when they may be able to re-order or complete the work. Gutters included in the proposal/payment by insurance neither received or replaced. Four windows ordered September 4 have not been received or installed. Again, no answer as to when this may be done. Communication and professionalism are definitely not there. Clean up on site was spotty at best - I have so far retrieved numerous soda bottles and cans, nails, clothing, tools, gloves and prescription drugs left on the property (in addition to roof pieces in trees). No warranty has been delivered despite requests. Workers have appeared on my doorway with no advance notice or identification (0ne Sunday at 6:30 am) Incorrect materials ordered, and work to be done not adequately assessed. (Calculated slope and area of roof incorrectly, did not know which siding, workers arrive and need our tools and materials, etc.) Siding materials continue to sit on my lawn two weeks after informed they are not what is required for the job.
Description of Work: Provider was hired to replace roof, replace some siding, and install four windows. House had been damaged in hail storm.

Came out for an estimate after leaving a flyer in the door. One of the most embarrassing experiences I've ever been through. Wanted to speak in depth about the product (which is fine) but after two hours refused to give me a price for an exterior door. Granted I asked for an estimate on one exterior door AND a deck but he said he didn't have enough time. I don't have 4 hours to get an estimate and I certainly don't need a slimy sales call. We got an estimate finally and it was incredibly expensive. We ended up getting a call later from the manager apologizing. Would not recommend for sales tactic, can't speak to the product.

They were too overbearing. They were too pushy. They were going door to door and I had one of the salespersons and I had them come give me an estimate on some siding and it was way out of my price range. I didn't know it was that expensive. They kept calling me. I just kept telling them I wanted to get other estimates and they would still call me. I had to tell them not to call me anymore. They said one price and one salesman came and said, oh we can give you a better price and they just kept calling. It was ridiculous.

From the start, this was a rocky transaction. The salesman who came for the consult was pushy, but we needed a roof and wanted the 50 year transferable warranty in case we sell the house. This guy (Rick or Rich) quoted me $18,000 but gave me a "special discount" of $14,650.00. Thought about it and decided that was insane as our house is only about 14000 sqft, so we said no way. The marketing director then came by and dropped it to $7800.00, which was comparable to other roof systems, so we went with it. After signing the contract, we didn't hear backfor a few weeks. Then suddenly, after a large snow storm, a truck full of men who did not speak any English showed up with rented equipment that did not have any Install America markings or ID's. I had to make them wait until the company opened and call in for verification. After being assured that they were legit, insured and certified to install this particular system, we allowed them to get to work. OH MY GOD! They were throwing things off the roof without looking, one guy stepped on a package that was delivered (ruining my daughter's birthday gift, her birthday was the next day), and they made a HUGE mess. In addition to that, they were blasting salsa music in a residential neighborhood, so a few neighbors gave me a call to see if they could quiet down the music. They did do the job in about 7 hours so that was a plus, but the mess that they left behind was unacceptable, especially considering that cleanup was in my contract. Instead of cleaning up, they shoved things under the snow. As the snow began to melt, I have found several shingles, metal flashings, nails, tacks and even strips of nails! I tried as best I could to clean them up, but my tree trimmer ended up with a flat tire, and I ended up with a rusty nail through the bottom of an UGG boot. I have been combing my yard for 2 weeks and still am finding shingles, pieces of metal, and nails everywhere. The more the snow melts, the more I realize how little they did to clean up. The marketing guy came back last week to have me sign a certificate of completion but said nothing about when or if they would come back and clean the mess. So here is what I received: a brand new roof that looks like garbage because they did it in the cold and shingles wont lay flat, a yard full of debris, a tetanus shot due to stepping on a nail, a bill for $385 for a flat tire on my tree trimmer's truck, a destroyed birthday gift for a 2 year old (with no reimbursement or even an apology), and a $7800 bill. Be careful with these guys, the marketing man is sweet as can be but the salesmen are pushy, they tell you Amish will be installing when in reality it is a group of Hispanic men who pretend not to understand you (he was on the phone with a restaurant for lunch and spoke perfect English, I heard and went to ask a question, suddenly he did not), they do NOT honor all of the terms of a contract, the leave a big mess even though you pay for a dumpster, and the workers have not been taught ANYTHING about proper safety. As a safety (OSHA) major, their skipping around on an ice covered roof with no harness or lift made me cringe. I watched in horror and had to call 3 times to ensure that they were all insured because I was certain one of them was going to break their neck! I'm not nitpicky, but seriously? Come on, who would not be upset after all of this?

The windows were deliverd about 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled date. The install group was on time. They did a good job of removing the old windows and installing the replacement windows. They claened up and reviewed the operation of every window with me. As I can see to date the new windows are of very high quality and expect them to perform better than any other window that I had looked at before ordering the 177 series from Install America.

From the moment they came in my house, I made clear that I only wanted an estimate for new doors. After showing them possible jobs I would have them do, we sat down for the estimate. That was about 30-45 minutes into their visit. Shortly after they presented the estimate I realized that this was going to be a push for me to sign a contract. When I insisted again that this was only to be for an estimate, the one salesperson got rude. He started to comment how bad my house looked compared to others on the block. He tried to sell me windows when I told him I just had windows put in within the past 2 years. He proceeded to waste another 45 minutes on showing me why my windows were substandard compared to his windows. He basically made me feel really bad. The more condensending he got, the more insistent I was NOT to have anything to do with this company. So for the next 2 1/2 hours....he tried to get me to sign for their services..I was exhausted, but I wasnt budging by then. He even reduced the price to $800 which made me wonder how many times they really overprice their jobs. It was a horrible experience and I could not wait to get them out of my house.

After speaking with the buyers and the seller's agent, I was informed that the warranty that was to be transferred never was and they were told after settlement that it's non-transferable. Buyers said they called several times due to the roof leaking and were never given any satisfaction or a solution to resolve the issue. They called another company to repair the problem.
Description of Work: A home that I sold to a client had the roof that was replaced by Install America. The home inspection showed a few problems with the roof that was installed about 3 years prior. We requested that it be repaired since the roof was still under warranty.

It went great from the purchase all the way through the install. The Rep arrived on time for our scheduled appointment. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and not pushy. After the purchase, someone was scheduled to measure the door. This person arrived on time for the appointment and was professional. He answered my questions and told me when he expected the door would arrive at their location. He was correct and I received a call stating the door had arrived and was calling to schedule an install date. The date and time was scheduled. The installer arrived on time. He did a great job installing the door. There was an issue with the door handle not being what i ordered. The correct handle was ordered without any questions or hassles. It was a pleasent experience.

lInstall America came to my door and solicited for a roofing job. My husband made an appointment with them and the solicitor called his place of business, gave him all of our information and then put my husband on the phone to confirm the appointment. The appointment was set for two days later. On the night of the appointment, which was scheduled for 7:30pm, we waited for the salesman to come. By 8pm he was not here. I proceeded to call Install America and was told that since I didn't answer their phone call the day before no one came. The reason being that they set the appointments but if you are not at your phone when THEY CALL, THEY DON'T COME. I explained that we both work and that is why we have an answering machine. She told me their policy is NOT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. I then questioned that and I guess she was tired of hearing it and said have a nice night and hung up on me. I then called back and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and I was told they were gone for the day to call back tomorrow and goodbye. Hung up on again! The rudeness of their call center along with the fact that we wasted our time waiting around for them has lost them probably at least $10,000 for a roofing job. How do you run a business like this?? I intend to call tomorrow and also to send a letter to these people. How do they stay in business? I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USING THIS BUSINESS!! Obviously they are so independent they can afford to treat people like this and DONT NEED THE BUSINESS.

It was herendously AWFUL! We paid them in February of 2012 The job took 15 months, and they did none of the kitchen work. They ordered the wrong size of doors 4 times. B their subcontractor, saved them a bit as the windows were put in correctly and took no time for him to complete that section of the job. The sub contractor who did the garage door was good too. However, the floor by the doors had gaps. The screen door was put on upside down. The back screen door was put on backwards. The whole corner of the room by the front door was left with a huge crack. The doors were never finished, and we had to bring it to their attention. They came out and stuck flat pieces of molding to cover the cracks by the thresholds. They never put the door closures on correctly and the front door now has no closures on it, so it swings open if you're not careful. We were told that fascia by the roof was going to be replaced to match the windows. Found out it was left out of the contract. The salesman who promised the world to us with the kitchen, doors and windows, quit. He had told us that he was going to revise our contract to reflect his promises. When he returned with the new contract, we trusted him and signed without reading. We were stupid. When push came to shove we referred to the contract to find out the kitchen was not included nor was any inside work which I don't understand as doors are inside work. D The "gentleman" in charge of the job, called me and gruffly stated in question form; what do we need to do to get YOUR job done, because were losing money on you. I told him i just wanted the contract completed. There were also french doors that were to go on between the dining room and living room, however it wasn't in thecontract. So for our inconvenience they allowed B to put them on for us. For $12500 we had 6 windows replaced, 2screen doors, 2entry doors, a garage door, an overhead garage door and a little siding. Out of their kindness they hung my 36 inch french doors even though it stated no inside work. Overall I would NEVER ever hire them again. They are seemingly disorganized as the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. The workmanship of the doors is shabby to say the least. When working up a contract with them make sure you read everything and make them put the smallest details in writing. Also only give them the minumal deposit until the job begins.
Description of Work: We contracted Install America to flip our breakfast bar' replace the kitchen counters and sink, as well as check the drawers to make sure they functioned properly. They were also suppose to replace our entry doors, garage doors, and our front windows. The small front and back porch were to be sided, and replaced facias to match.

The deck - The deck required them to come back to finish since they did not order enough of the decking product. I'm also worried about they way they installed the deck. I don't think they should've used trim molding to cover uneven cuts against the house but I finally agreed to let them do it just to get the job complete. The kitchen has turned into a nightmare. The measurment for where the sink was placed was not correct so my dishwasher needed to be moved down. I'm ok with that but they have left the job unfinished. THere is no cabinet base moulding where so now there is a big hole near the floor board between cabinet and dishwasher. The countertop was suppose to be silestone. They cut the piece at the sink which is exactly what silestone said not to do because it creates a weak point. The seam looks horrible and they are telling me its a good seam. It's rough, uneven and very very obvious. They have not given me the silestone warrenty (because I think they gave me another product) and the installer is not silestone certified which they are required to be. The countertop is also not as wide as the original so there is nasty gap on in the wall where it should've gone out to. The dishwasher was not secured so Install America had to send out someone to secure but it's uneven and sticks out more on one side than the other. It looks horrible. The countertop also has chips and scratches in it. I found them within 2 days and contacted Install America. It took a lot of effort to get them to come out to look at them. THey finally sent the owner of the countertop company out and he accused me of using sealer on it and sealer caused chips and scratches. I argued with them over this but they would not relent so I went on line and did research. SEALER DOES NOT HARM SILESTONE IN THE LEAST!!! Now the granite company wants to "repair" it and I said NO I want a new countertop because I did not pay full price for a defective product. I have reiterated this multiple times but they keep saying they will FIX it. I called the owner of install america who bullied me on the phone. They are bringing out 5 men to view this and I am an older woman so they are trying an intimidation tactic. I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and have been contacted that it's a valid complaint. I encourage anyone who has had bad service with Install America to also file a complaint with PA Consumer Affairs.

An Install American sales representative contacted me late Jan 2013. They have me listed as a former customer and called to ask if there were any new home improvements i was considering. I happened to be collecting estimates for new exterior entry doors. The rep said Install America was offering a $50 gas card, a $300 discount if an order was placed the day of the estimate and a 3rd incentive which I can't remember. These items would be awarded to the potential customer just for allowing their field sales staff to visit and present an estimate. I made and appointment, the sales rep arrived, showed me products and presented an estimate and told me about the $300 discount if I ordered that day. When I asked about the gas card, he knew nothing about it and had to call the office and spoke with someone named Nick. Nick told the sales rep that was correct, Install America was offering a $50 gas card free, just for permitting them to come to my home and provide an estimate. It's now June 4th and I have had at least 11 calls from Install America saying they notice I'm a fomer customer and would I like an estimate for any new home improvement products. I have responded each time asking about the $50 gas card I have yet to receive. Of course, the marketing caller knows nothing and have connected me several times to their supervisor who has assured me she would deal with the card and mail it out to me ASAP. No card, no return calls when I have called her to ask about the status of the card. So I have several negative comments about Install America. Their marketing dept doesn't record that they just called 3 days ago. The calls are becoming harrassing. And their incentive marketing gifts are a gimmick and false advertising. Next step is a written complaint to the Consumer Protection Divison in the State Attorney General's Office.
Description of Work: False marketing incentives. It's amazing this company stays in business. Slocum Industries window products are fantastic but their internal communication systems are among the worst. The righ hand never knows what the left is doing.

My wife was pressured into setting up a consultation appointment. We canceled the appointment because we don't need their service. I was called at least 2-3 times in the 2 weeks following to inquire whether we wanted to reconsider. I told multiple people very emphatically and firmly to not EVER contact us again. They insist upon calling us, after assuring us that they are destroying our file and won't call again. Any company that exhibits this level of unprofessional behavior cannot be trustworthy or worth doing business with. I would avoid them, based on their harassment and disrespectful practices.

I could go on for hours about how AWFUL a job was done. The job was taking forever and we had so many complaints (not just being picky either - it was just awful what they were doing with the tile - the team lead came out & took pics). Friends visiting also made comments on the same issues we saw. ). A few days after they were done with the main bathroom and started the 2nd shower, the main shower leaked into the basement. When they finally came out, Chester blamed the plumber & me (said I had the hand shower angled to the corner of the shower & that's why it leaked & when I said I hadn't used the hand shower he blamed the plumber. Well, it turned out it was the tile job that was bad. The bench in the shower was angled toward the wall. After they fixed the shower floor & continued on the 2nd shower, several big cracks developed in the grout along the corners of the tub & shower. It turned out the backer board was backwards & didn't go as high as it should. If it hadn't been re-done, tiles would have started falling off the walls. The tub access panel was sealed shut. When I questioned it, I was told I just had to saw cut it re-caulk if we had any issues. All the demo work was done without any protection to my house. I came home from work, walked in to a smoke cloud of dust throughout the entire house. I was chewing on debris from the air. We were without working showers and sinks over Thanksgiving. Over the holiday we had only the toilet in the basement & the kitchen sink to wash our hands. It was horrible. I could only do a little decorating over Christmas. It turned out that after several months, both rooms had to be re-done ( tear out all the tile around the tub & showerorder all new tile & granite for both bathrooms theThe job was started in mid-October and did not complete until the beginning of March). I had to laugh too - the 1st crew hooked up the dryer vent...or so we were told. When I ran the dryer, nothing came out of the vent outside. He vented it into my ceiling!!!! The drywall....dear Lord, the drywall....I have never seen a worse drywall job in my life. I painted the main bathroom & was utterly disgusted with the job done on the walls. I saw every & I mean every spackle, tape, etc. Even after it was fixed & I had to repaint it - not them, there are still several imperfections on the walls. Had to paint twice because of the awful work they did. It still sucks! The work the 2nd team did was much better and they at least were here Mon-Fri to get the job done...not like the 1st crew. They knew what they were doing & I think if they would have started the job from scratch instead of just fixing & re-doing areas, it would have been done much better. The 1st crew did wind up getting fired, but why were they allowed to do a job they had no business doing in the 1st place. We loved having the big green dumpster in the driveway for several months & not being able to park in our garage the entire winter. To top it all off, after the horrible experience we had over several months of inconvenience, & utter disgust, when they came to close the job, they came with additional BILL of SEVERAL HUNDRED Dollars. I almost went through the roof. We had to bargain to remove the bill. I was expecting some new ceiling tiles, house cleaning & other reductions. I just had them wipe the new bill to forget those other things we were expecting them to take care of at the end. We were just so happy to end it all & try to get back to some normalcy. I could literally go on for pages & pages of all the aggravation & inconvenience we went through. I have informed all friends, family to RUN as FAST as they can in the opposite direction of Install America. I understand they did make good by having a great deal of the work re-done, but to come in with an extra bill after all we'd been through was a slap in our faces. What a nightmare we went through for many months. NEVER AGAIN!! We still kick ourselves for going with IA. When we received a call from them a year later that they were having a deal, I kept the poor girl on the phone for over an hour trudging up all the details of what we went through. I received a call a day later from their Service Manager, who blew off my complaints by saying they fixed all the original damage that was done & she heard the bathrooms turned out beautiful. I wish, so wish, I would have sued them and had a company that knew what they were doing do the job. Stick to your Windows, IA.

The sales person arrived on time, but was rather pushy. He did not go up to the roof, butThe quote was scribbled on a piece of scratch paper. I would have preferred a more formal proposal on company letterhead. The quote was higher than I would have liked and I ultimately went with another company. I would not use this company again. I don't appreciate the hard sell.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for a roof. The quote was higher that I was willing to pay and did not choose to proceed. No work was performed.

We had a vinyl deck installed. The job required the removal of a window and replacement of a door to access the deck from the house. They guy assigned to do the work had not worked with vinyl decking before. He was not provided with all the materials required to do the job but did manage to complete the project as best as he could, with what was provided. Since we were not completely satisfied with the end result, we worked with the management of Install America, who sent an adviser out to access our dissatisfaction. They then worked with us to rectify the situation. The work was then completed with satisfactory results.
