From top to bottom, we had an extremely satisfying experience working with Tom Hawkes from Total Home Solutions. His professionalism and responsiveness shone throughout the entire remodel process. We could not be happier with the work him and his team accomplished for us. This was our first remodel experience and Tom was with us every step of the way. This was the value in utilizing Tom, it truly was a one stop shop for us throughout the remodel process. He had a design team that was essential in helping us create a renovated bathroom/closet that turned out exactly how we wanted. The finished product is beyond amazing, and we could not be happier. Again, we can not recommend Tom and Total Home Solutions enough. They truly are a resource you should feel VERY comfortable working with!

Tom Hawks had the best pricing out of the 4 people that I had come and do estimates for our requested work. He was super easy going and easy to work with. All of our projects were completed on time. The hardwood flooring refinishing is just beautiful, they did a wonderful job. It was also easy to explain to Tom what specific items I wanted for our doors (I have very specific taste) and he did all he could to make sure I got what I wanted. Some of the pricing came in over estimate but that was simply because we did not know all of our doorways would need custom sized doors. Tom explained that to me when I asked him about the difference in price. Overall I was very pleased with the work that was done and would suggest Total Home Solution to others for any home remodeling needs.

Called him and he called back within minutes. Was busy, but responded that he would come within week. This he did. Work was very neat and I was quite pleased. Yes, I would call him for other work.

Tom and his team at Total Home Solution (THS) did a fantastic job remodeling my kitchen. I was new to the "design and build" concept until Tom explained it thoroughly before even discussing price! I had what I thought was a fairly clear idea of how I wanted my new kitchen to look after the remodel; Tom's discussion of alternative options allowed me to truly see how different plans would affect the kitchen space. I also had no idea of the complexity surrounding selection of products! Tom allayed my concerns and suggested multiple options that would meet the vision of the finished kitchen. I was able to choose options that met both my aesthetic and financial needs, something I wasn't certain could be accomplished. I highly recommend Tom and the THS team for any home remodeling projects and am planning on contacting him when the next project is needed.

I wrote Tom an e-mail about the second light not coming on or flickering and then turning off on the fan/light combo. He was able to come out quickly and troubleshoot the problem. He came during the week, after 5pm to accommodate our work schedules, which I thought was great, since this was a follow-up and not another job. He was able to fix the problem (loose connection) within minutes. He then called last week to check up on the fan/light, make sure it was all working still and to see how everything else in the bathroom was working. He's been great to work with and I'm looking forward to using him in the future for more projects.

I called this company to see if somebody would come out and give me an estimate on some home repairs. My list of needed repairs included a screen door repair, doorbell repair, installation of a ceiling fan, and painting of a bathroom window. The first time I called the company, I had to leave a message since nobody answered the phone. I didn't get a call back that day or the next. Figuring that people might just be busy, I called again. This time I got somebody and asked him about my list of repairs. He told me that he would be in my area the following week and would call me to set up a time for him to come by. I never heard from him. I am not sure if my list of repairs was either not worth his time or not the type of work that he does, but I would have liked him just to tell me that instead of just not calling me.

This was a great experience from beginning to end. Before installation: Tom came to our house to do an estimate the day after I made the initial call. The next week we went through the proposal and fixture picks. He made some great selections and then I was able to change some for my own preferences. We made a date to have everything done and he was able to complete it all in one day. Everything moved at the pace I needed. The day of installation: He came right on time, which was greatly appreciated, so that I wouldn't be late for work. Tom went above and beyond our expectations. We had a new fan/light exhaust combo put in, there was not one before, so a new vent had to be installed in the attic to the back of the house. While he was up on the roof, he cleaned our gutters! The supply truck never delivered the toilet seat cover and the light for the fan/light combo didn't work, so he made an extra trip to home depot to pick all of that up. Then made sure the new lights over the vanity worked as well. The bathroom is well above what I expected. Day after installation: I got a follow-up phone call to ensure everything was still to our liking and worked. I will absolutely be using Tom again for future projects. Other handymen wouldn't even come to look when they found out we needed shut-off valves installed, they didn't want to do any plumbing. Other bathroom installers gave the impression our project was too small for their time. Tom made me feel like, hey this is the perfect, one day job. He has a great personality and is very easy in communication using cell phone and e-mail.

Total Home Solution was professional, friendly and prompt. The work was done efficiently with no supervision needed. We are very happy with everything done. They went above and beyond on some projects, for instance we received quote to re-caulk 2 exterior windows, but they went ahead and did all of them. My only small complaint is that the sun acted as a magnifier on one of the storm doors placed on the front grass, so there was an area of grass burned. While I was upset about the appearance at first since we'd just had landscaping work done, the grass is already starting to heal and should be looking normal in a few weeks. My hope is that service provider will take this into consideration on future projects and place scraps onto other surfaces besides homeowners lawn. I would still use them again in the future and recommend them to others in my area.

Michael and his crew were outstanding to work with. He was very accommodating to our changing plans and schedules, and he did everything in his power to make sure we were getting what we wanted and were satisfied with the results. We trusted Michael and his crew with access to our house while we were on vacation and he kept in touch via email as to how the job was progressing. Pro Painters Plus is a great painting firm, completely dedicated to the customer's satisfaction, and I highly recommend them for your painting needs.

This is the second time I've used Tom Hawks and Total Home Solution to remodel a kitchen (See my review dated Oct. 26, 2011 - Catagory "Remodel Kitchen and Bath" ) and ,once again, was extemely please. He and his staff were professional, punctual, and cleaned up after they were finished each day. Tom was very conscientious as far as satisfying my wishlist while staying within budget. He explained all my options and offered great advice. I can't praise Total Home Solution enough and would not hesitate to recommend Tom Hawks and his company for any job, large or small. Great team - good service - reasonably priced ,and worth every penny...!!!

Total Home Solutions were punctual and on time. They were efficient.

Every step -- from estimate to design and materials selection to final contract to completion -- was done with ease. We were amply informed every step of the way. The only downside to our experience were an issue with the countertop order date and some flooring installation problems (by Total Home's subcontractor). However, both issues were seen through to the very end and remedied with professionalism. We now have a stellar kitchen and powder room that wows even the most nitpicky friends and family. Mom is now nearly replicating our kitchen design in her house!

I like the work performed and will use this company in future because of the professionalism and attention to detail.

The painting was completed within 2 days. The quality was excellent. It was completed much faster than I anticipated. The other work, electrical, wall board and door installation, was completed in half a day. The contractor responded within within 2 hours of my call and came out the same day. His painter reviewed the job the next day. I received a quote within 3 days. I accepted the quote and the whole process, start to finish, was completed within two weeks. I was more than satisfied with the results.

Tom Hawks was bery responsive to my initial inquiry; he came to my house and we walked though all of the projects I was asking him to consider in a bid. The biggest was replacement of patio doors onto the deck. I told Tom that I had researched a number of patio door manufacturers and he hasked me to give him a preferred list when I completed my research. I was off on a weeks vacation shortly after and Tom contacted me (via phone and e-mail) to follow-up on the patio door selection. I got back to him about a week later and gave him my preference. I apologized for not getting back sooner. Since then, I have heard from him once when I called; he said he had been quite busy and would get back to me. That was two months ago. I am going to seek other avenues. See info in previous section. After re-established contact, both Tom and the home owner have reviewed the orginal proposal; made tenative selection of the patio door to be replaced and discussed how to sequence the work requested due to the winter season scheduleing. That subsequent meeting was very positive and the home owner has confidence that quality work will be performed in a very acceptable manner.

He responded to my call for his services in a timely manner and came to see me and review what I needed done. He then got the equipment that was needed and set up an appointment to do the work. He did an excellent job and came at the time that worked best for me. He changed a faucet, changed a PVC pipe that was leaking, repaired and replaced some coving, and fixed an outside gate. I was very happy with his work and would use him again

The overall experience was very positive. We had told Tom after we used him in the early summer that we would have him back in the early fall. He came the last week of Aug and walked through the basement and took a detailed list of what we needed done, including two extra projects of attaching new pumps to our front storm door, and new exterior lights to our upper and lower decks. We received the estimate a few days later and scheduled the work for the next week. We had to remove everything from desk tops and bookcases, but the contractors moved the large pieces of furniture. The first day, the carpet team came, removed a small area of carpet that had not been removed, and then installed the carpet we had chosen with a very good quality carpet pad. They included an under the stairs closet that had had carpet when we first moved in, and still had the carpet tacks along the edge of the floor. There was no extra charge since they used a strip of carpet that had been cut from the main floor piece. The next day Tom came with an assistant to prepare the basement for painting, repairing the dry wall, and adding baseboards, and, the extra jobs of the storm door pumps and the exterior lights installed. The next day the painters came with a 4 man crew. They laid tarps over the entire floor and over the large pieces of furniture. They sanded and prepared the walls, woodwork and doors for painting. A first coat was applies to the entire basement. Two men returned the second day and applies a second coat, cleaned up thoroughly and removed the tarps. The basement was clean and neat when they left. All the workers were polite, professional and left with all their equipment cleaned up and removed. It was a very positive experience.

I was preparing to host my first ever BBQ and wanted the kitchen (which I recently had remodeled) to be picture perfect. I needed to have a 36" x 51" mirror hung on one of the kitchen walls. My BBQ was Sunday, May 27 and I called Tom on Thursday, May 24. He must have heard the desperation in my voice. He made an appointment to visit my home the very next day. Sure enough...he arrived on time and hung the mirror within 15 minutes! It totally completed the look I was going for! He also explained how to hang a curtain rod and even hung one of my living room curtain rods just to walk me through the process. He was clear in explaining everything he was doing (I guess he recognized I was a new homeowner) and he did so in a patient manner (not condescending at all). I will definitely be using his services in the future for all of my "handyman" needs. Tom was completely professional, punctual, and friendly. A great experience overall! THANK YOU Tom!!!

Mr. Hawk first came to evaluate our situation. Immediately he gave us solutions to certain challenges that came up in casual conversation. Then he addressed a plumbing problem that he had a part for. He then returned in a few days with equipment needed to address a roof leak. It would have been easy for Mr. Hawk to "take us for a ride" but instead he was interested in doing a good, thorough job with the simplest solution. It wound-up costing us much less than we had braced ourselves for!

Everything was going to plans till the tub surround was installed. The glue they used didn't hold, so they had to research and find a glue that would work. The new glue worked and the job was completed the next day. They did a great job considering what they went through. I recommend them for any home work.

From the first contact to completion of the work, Tom and his employees were prompt, respectful of my time and property, and conscientious about customer satisfaction. When some parts of the job took less time than originally estimated, Tom identified and fixed other problem areas (doors not closing properly, sticking, etc.) that were not included on the original repair list. I recommend Total Home Solution and plan to use their services the next time I have repairs.

I couldn't have found a better man than Tom Hawks and his team from Total Home Solutions. Everyone I dealt with that had contacted me ,from his team, was a professional in their field . From interior designer to cabinet maker, flooring expert and countertop installers. Tom is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious ,and explained the process step by step along the way and was readily available at any time to answer my questions and guide me through this. Never did I feel like I was asking anyone on his team a stupid question ( And, I had many...!!!). They were all so respectful and made valuable suggestions. Tom knew my budget and made every effort to satisfy my "Wish List" within that budget. He created a detailed Excel spreadsheet listing all my options and dollar amount for each so that I could be an educated consumer. And this resulted in me being an extremely pleased client. In addition, every day, when the work for that day was finished, my place was left very clean which was tough considering my kitchen on the first day was completely gutted and my appliances were in the dining room...!!!!! I can't say enough great things about Tom Hawks and his team. It was a very pleasant first-experience with home remodeling and I would not only use Tom again without hesitation, I would highly recommend him for any project - large or small.

Frequently went smoothly and on schedule. Tom Hawks was a reliable and pleasant person to do business with. Perhaps a bit pricey.

He was not able to understand where the leak was coming from and it took me a lot of time, to reach him. I then called another person and he found out the problem immediately and advised I need not replace the shingles. Then it stopped raining and he came a few days in a row and completed the job. The price was good and I will continue to use them in future.
