Windows Plus

I used Windows Plus for my roof so I was comfortable using them for my door. The rep showed me a bunch of options and I picked a door I liked. The worker did a nice job and the door looks great. Everyone was very helpful that I dealt with. I am very happy with all the projects they have done to my house.

My husband and I deliberated on purchasing new windows for several years. We would start shopping and then stop. It was either too overwhelming or too expensive because we needed to do our whole house. One of our 2014 New Year?s resolutions was to get windows installed. Most of our existing windows had cracked seals, we could feel drafts coming into our house, and our heating bills were increasing. We began our shopping by visiting home shows and meeting with window distributors. We were constantly being oversold. We began to wonder if we would ever find the right window at the right price with the right installer. We knew that no matter what window we bought, the installation was key. In May 2014, we found Windows Plus, Steve Booth ? our sales person, and Anthony ? lead installer. Steve asked insightful questions, offered advice that displayed his in-depth experience, and was totally candid about the installation process. He didn?t try to upsell us products we didn?t want or need. Instead, he helped us select a product that met our needs and budget. He was thorough and ensured we were well-prepared for the installation process. Anthony and team showed up on time. They were pleasant and extremely approachable when I had questions or concerns. No matter how small or picky, Anthony was always helpful. I think the hallmark of a great company is how they respond when challenges arise. We did have one obstacle to navigate. When I called Steve, his first response was that he wanted me to be happy and that no challenge was too great to be handled. He was creative in devising a solution at no additional cost to us. The team at Windows Plus worked diligently to ensure that we had an exceptional customer experience. They called when they said they would, showed up as agreed, worked in a professional friendly manner, happily fielded questions, and capably handled an issue. What we appreciate the most is that each person on the team was honest, transparent, and friendly. Thank you Steve, Anthony, and Windows Plus. We love our new windows and they have given our house a new refreshed look.

From sales to installation, eveything went great. Our sales rep gave us an approximate date for delivery and he was right on the mark and they installed two weeks later. I had special request for capping the first floor windows and they look awesome. The crew thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, which is very important to me. Follow up from the office after completion was a nice touch. Already thinking about a new front door and Windows Plus Roofing & Siding will get the call first.

Went great. They had the best price and were easy to work with, so I went with them and the install happened ~6 weeks later, the windows are great.

We set out to have our windows and roof replaced this Spring. We started by using Angie's List to narrow our search, and included HD when deciding on which companies we'd wanted to receive quotes from. The quote from Windows Plus was the best, when considering material, etc. After having everything quoted, we decided we couldn't afford to get both the windows and roof this Spring, so we moved forward with just the roof replacement. The hand off from Sales to Project Manager (Paul) was great. Paul was wonderful at ensuring we knew what we were getting, when, what it would look like, and how quality the install would be. He wasn't kidding. I'm very handy around the house and know what to look for in quality craftsmanship. Everything these guys did is top notch, you don't see the typical shortcuts that some choose to take: Leave the flashing short because they don't feel like a whole new piece just to cover a half of an inch... These guys used the additional piece of flashing. Another thing, we had several planks under our old roof that I knew had to be replaced, but I was hoping Paul wouldn't say they ALL had to be replaced. Sure enough, Paul explained the 85% of the roof planks were salvageable and he only needed to replace a couple. This is another example where I think some would choose to either take advantage, or "we needed to replace them all" approach, and just stack on the bill. Our roof looks great, I am proud of the work the guys did and I will hire them again for another job in the future.

They were excellent. They took the old roof off and hauled it away. They also provided all the materials for the work that they did. We wanted to get a competitive bid and they gave us a very competitive price. The quality of their service was excellent and their responsiveness was perfect. I would absolutely use them again in the future if I need to.

I got 3 estimates for my roof and gutters . I have a ranch house with 4 bedrooms. They finished when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves. The job looks great. And my home felt warmer this winter. The workers were friendly and skilled. No hidden costs. I paid what they said it would cost. .

The windows plus team of Steve (Sales) and Danny (Installer) were excellent! We received 4 estimates of various prices and they were not only the cheapest but they were able to accommodate our tight timeline. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They provided us with many options but did not pressure us at all. We had some specific criteria and Steve worked with us with patience and professionalism. We are very happy with the quality and warranties of the windows and service. We plan to update our other windows in the future and will absolutely use Windows plus again. You can not go wrong with this company. They were GREAT! Thanks

Getting a quote was good but the quote itself wasn't.

This is my 3rd review for Windows Plus. I have used Windows plus in 3 different houses for a total of 5 times. The first time around 2001, again in 2009 and now in 2014. Twice for windows, once for a garage door, once for sliding doors (2 doors) and twice for a bay window (2 different houses). Honestly, their quality and price has been fantastic every time and as a Mechanical Engineer I scrutinize everything. You can pay more or you can pay less but I find Windows Plus provides the best quality /value combination. For this job, Windows Plus installed windows throughout my entire house. I was replacing vinyl windows from either Castle or Window Wizards that were only 12 years old but the difference in quality is amazing. My 2 previous houses were relatively new (45 and 25 years old) so I think the installations were pretty straightforward. However, the house I own now is over 80 years old and I would have expected some challenges for the installer. I was happy with all of the previous installers so I was hoping that they sent someone they have sent before especially because I know that capping a window is as important as the window itself. Windows Plus sent out Dan (I don't remember his last name) to perform the installation. You can spend a lot of money on the most expensive windows but if the capping is done poorly, you've wasted your money. Dan was amazing. Dan made the extra effort to assure that the capping was perfect not only aesthetically but functionally as well. Dan even took the time to show me his technique. I can see why capping is closer to an art than a science and Dan is truly the master. Dan, not only did an amazing installation but he also a true professional that takes pride in his work. (He's a nice guy too). Throughout the 14+ years that I have been using Windows Plus, they may have changed suppliers because a vendor either raises prices without quality or lowers quality without prices but Windows Plus will find another vendor so they can continue to deliver value to the customer. Throughout the years, I have recommended Windows Plus to several neighbors and friends and the quality has been consistently high every time. I just wish I could find the same quality/value in a contractor for my other home improvement needs.

There were multiple issues with getting someone to come out. We scheduled an appointment and no one showed up. My husband called about an hour and 15 minutes after the appointment and the person in the office said she didn’t know anything. It turns out the person who was supposed to come didn’t put the appointment in his appointment book. So we were going to schedule another appointment, and the person came out one day when no one was there. My husband then called to get a written estimate since the job entailed 3 different houses, and the price was far too expensive to even use them. They also didn’t listen to exactly what we needed to have done, which was re-coating the roof. There were just too many issues.

The service was very good. There was a bit of a delay with them providing a door. They never communicated to me and I had to follow up with them each time. I think the delay was because the colors were customized.

From the consultation, installation and working through the punch list, the project went smoothly; scheduled and completed within the time frame discussed (in fact all 24 windows were installed in less than two days) ; a truly professional team all around.

Windows Plus has installed a 6x8 box bay window for us. It was on the 2nd floor and a very difficult installation. They took the time to plan the best way to insert the window in the safest manner. We had several estimates including one from a well known window company who gave us the hard sell and If we signed that day the cost was several thousand less. We didn't sign! Also, another large company that saw this as too hard a job and never called back with a quote. Windows Plus gave us their estimate with no hard sales pitch. Their price was fair and much less than most of our previous quotes. The installers have worked for them for many years and were extremely qualified and efficient. We are very pleased with this Company and will use them in the future.

We are really happy with our decision to hire Windows Plus! Due to the size of our project we had a number of estimates and chose them because they had the most knowledge and were able to handle all the aspects; the roof, siding and window replacement. John arrived on time for the appointment and the whole process was explained in detail. He gave us 2-3 choices of products and did a computer rendering of what it would look like. The quality of the product as well as the quality of the workmanship was beyond our expectation. Anthony and Chip were extremely neat and installed our twenty three windows in just 2 days. They did an incredible job and my home is a lot quieter. I will let you know later how much we save on energy costs. The roof and siding came out great and again the installers were awesome. They took the old roof off and put the new one on and stayed till 7pm cleaning up. When I got home from work my neighbor said she never saw harder workers. The siding part took about a week and it turned out just like the picture on the computer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. Everyone who came to my home was polite and professional.

The project went well from start to finish. Tearing up a kitchen is no fun and keeping the downtime to a minimum was critical in this case. The kitchen was never totally out of service. Now it'sdone and all is well.

We chose Windows Plus after talking to 4 contractors. Although all 4 contractors were very professional, Steve was the only one that offered his ideas and options we could do. When we had all the pricing together we were very happy with the price Windows Plus presented. It was far from the highest estimate but wasn't the low estimate. They offered much more for the price. The project went smoothly from start to finish. The roof was completed first and the window and siding were done at the same time. One of the options Steve offered was to have the windows installed from the outside so nothing inside was disturbed. He said they could have the siding and window installers work in conjunction and therefore give us a better window installation. They also offered siding accents that no other contractor did and I'm so glad we took Steves advice because the house looks incredible!!! Any of my neighbors that tell me how nice everything looks get an earful of how great Windows Plus is. I would recommend them to everyone. Thanks to Steve and all the guys who did the job.

Windows were installed in May. Product was delivered and installed in the timeframe promised. Installers have several years experience and did a good job. Not comfortable disclosing cost but I compared to one other estimate and cost was fair in comparison. Overall satisfied with the product and have not experienced any problems to date.

The salesman was not pushy and certainly professional, but the reason I am not happy with my windows is that they LOOK really bad on the outside. The reason is that the exterior trim is waaay to wide, 6" to be exact. It looks strange. I called them about it right after the install and they said "oh you should have asked for a builder grade replacement". What this apparently means is that the entire old window and frame needed to be taken out, not just the old window. I had old Pella windows in there, which were a replacement of the previous owner. These Pella windows were smaller then the original windows used when the house was built. Anyway I think the salesman should have pointed this out to me and made me aware of this fact and given me a choice as to what I wanted. The result is also that some of the windows in the bathrooms are very small as the window has been set in an other window insert. And all of the exterior has this very wide 6" trim around all the windows. They also had a metal trim on the inside (the room side) and that became very cold in the winter. They were very prompt to replace that with a wood trim. So that was good service.

I own a two story colonial home in east Norriton Pennsylvania. The house has served me well over the years; however it was time for some serious upgrades to the exterior - including windows, doors and siding. After securing the financing, I got estimates from five different contractors. I finally decided on using windows plus because the owner, Ed, seemed to be the most knowledgeable and the most genuine of all the contractors who gave me estimates. He asked excellent questions during the estimate process. The other contractors simply stated the prices of their services. Ed asked questions like -how long do you plan to own your home? Are their parts of your home which are difficult to keep warm or cold depending on the season? He took the time to offer me several different options for windows and doors. He actually seemed interested in making certain I was happy with the decisions. The other contractors simply seemed interested in securing the business. The installation went well. The contractors arrived on time, worked diligently and professionally and did an excellent job of cleaning up after their work. Windows plus did not offer the lowest price of the five estimates. However, you get what you pay for. How often does the owner of the business stop over to your place on the first day of the job, in the middle of the installation and at the end to make certain everything goes smoothly and the customer is completely happy. The house looks great and I could not be more pleased. I have already recommended windows plus to my sister and brother in law; they are going to use them to replace all of the windows in their older home. I would highly recommend using this company if you are in need of doors, windows or siding.

Several years ago my son was getting married. I had agreed to have the rehearsal dinner at my home and needed to do some sprucing up. I called Windows Plus and they sent out a salesman. We agreed on the price and type of replacement door and signed a contract stating that the door would be installed on a particular date before the dinner. I was assured that there was plenty of time and the job would be done on time. As the weeks passed, it was very close to the time that they were supposed to install the door and I had not heard from the company at all. I called and the person answering the phone told me that the door was in and they would call me soon to set up the installation date. Several days passed and when I did not hear from them I called again. I was again told that they would call. This went on for several calls and still no one called me. I was telling my son of the situation and he said that he would try to call them. He called and emphasized that I needed someone to call and let me know what was happening and that at that time I was seriously thinking about starting a legal claim against their company. I finally received a call from the owner, who by the way he spoke to me was not happy with me at all. He made me go through the whole story again and when I ended with the fact that I was seriously thinking about cancelling my order he informed me that if I did that, it would be a breach of contract and I would have to pay the whole amount anyway. I was very angry at that moment and pointed out the I was not in breach of the contract but in fact his company was since the door was not installed by the date that was clearly stated on the contract. He then very rudely said, what is it that you want? I told him that all I wanted was someone to come out and install the replacement door. He told me that he would have someone out the next day. True to his word an installer came out the next day. This was the day before the rehearsal dinner so I was happy that it was going to be done. The installer looked at the the door and said he did not want to start the job because if there was any damage under the vinyl siding then I would be without a door for awhile. He said that he would call back in a day or two and set up an installation date. Since I had so much going on at that time, I had no choice but to agree. They did not call right away and it was almost another two weeks before the door was installed. There was no damage under the siding and the whole installation took a little over an hour to complete. I paid them what I owed them and I thought that was the end of it. This alone would have caused me never to used them again or recommend them to anyone but it was not the end..... On January 1st the next year I moved a large potted plant from the wall next to the door and realized that the wall had a large bulge. I felt the wall and it was hot and spongy to the touch. The rug in that area was quite wet and my hardwood floors were buckling. We thought that the upstairs radiador may have gotten a leak so we turned off the heat and called a plumber.Since it was a holiday the plumber couldn't come out until January 2nd. When he came out, he removed part of the wall and repaired the copper pipe going up to the second floor. He showed us the piece that he repaired and it had three nail holes in it caused by Windows Plus during the installation of the replacement door. I called Windows plus again to get the information of their insurance company to put a claim in and once again I was stonewalled and my calls were never acknowledged nor returned. Since I was concerned about mold and all the repairs that needed to be done I called my own insurance company. The repairs to my home were over $12,000.00. Several months passed and I was out of the house when the saleman for windows plus came to my house. He never called to let us know he was coming and if I was home he would not have gotten in the door. My husband let him in and the only thing that this man said was that he was surprised that we had not painted the woodwook around the door yet. The Customer Service I received from this company was the worst I have ever received. I will never recommend this company for any kind of work.

We signed the original contract in January and it took two months for the job to be scheduled, in part because some of their installers were on vacation (at least this is what I was told when I called). Because the job was relatively large, it had been scheduled to take place over three days (Wednesday to Friday). They had to delay the start date because bad weather prevented them from finishing another job. I can understand this, but not only did they go back and forth with when the actual start date would be (it ultimately ended-up being delayed), but because we had not planned on having anyone available to let them in the house the following week I was promised that the only work that would have to be done would be outside work. Not only was this not the case, but no one even bothered to let me know. As a result I had to scramble at the last minute to make sure someone would be available to let them in the following week. In addition to those scheduling issues I ended-up having to pick-up pieces of scrap metal and cranking handles left over from the old windows all over our yard. These would have represented a serious hazard for our landscaper once grass-cutting season started, and leaving such debris behind is unprofessional. In addition those issues, we had originally chosen the Okna windows because we were explicitly told that unlike woodframe windows, this would require no interior painting after installation. Not only was this incorrect, but most of the trimming that was installed indoor was either not primed or barely primed. As a result, we now have to embark into a non-trivial painting job that would have been much easier if it had been done before the final installation. Furthermore, not all trimming was originally installed, and we had to call them back to come and finish it. They did, but had the audacity to claim that they knew about it, and had not done it because they did not have the part (a standard piece of maple trim). If they knew, why did they not tell us about it, and why did we have to call them back to have it finished? In addition, they took several trips to Home Depot during the last installation day to get additional trimming material they did not have... Last but not least, we had EXPLICTLY asked that they make sure to pull out the wires for the alarm sensors installed in our old windows. They did not, and as a result we now have to go through the additional expense of installing new wireless sensors to ensure that the new windows are covered by our alarm system. We did call the sale's person with whom we had originally signed the contract to try to get some of the issues addressed, but this yielded no results. Based on this combined experience, there is absolutely no way I could recommend this business to anyone. ------------------- This is an update to my original review. I would probably still not recommend them on the basis of my own experience, but I must acknowledge the effort they made after the problems we ran into. Specifically, they did offer a $200 refund check, which will partially though certainly not fully cover the costs of having the windows trims painted and wireless alarm sensors installed on the new windows. I just wish they did not have to do that in the first place, but it goes to showing that they tried to fix the issue.

Great experience with a professional company. They came out during the holidays and had a replacement in about a week.
