I cannot say enough about my whole experience from first contact where John Laye sounded me out about what type of fabrics I had in mind. He arrived with books of perfect samples which left me entirely without that slightly panicked 'second guessing' feeling I tend to get after choice, the work was finished in a timely manner and is exquisite. It was an incredible pleasure dealing with this efficient and fun man who kept me fully informed throughout the proceedings and he arrived last week along with his efficient and cheerful installer The price was well within acceptability, especially allowing for the quality of the work itself. I will not only use him again, I highly recommend him.

It was a pleasure working with John Laye. He is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He spent a good amount of time helping us decide about the colors and proper installation for the tricky casement windows in our 87 year old house. The turnaround time from order to installation was very good. The two installers, Richard and Nicholas, were excellent. We are delighted with the results. The shades have transformed the rooms and we plan to use Rosen again in the Spring for the other windows.

I initially hired Rosen Interiors to hang blinds throughout my new house. I liked John so much, I hired him again to reupholster an old rocking chair that needed some TLC and make cushions for benches throughout my home. All three jobs were done extremely well. My blinds were hung quickly but neatly, and the rocking chair and bench cushions came out beautifully. While we had some speed bumps along the way, John handled them promptly and always made sure I was happy with the final product. John is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I will definitely hire him again when I am ready to hang curtains in my new home.

John was incredible to work with and the design and final product was exactly what we were looking for. This was a job that required some creativity to allow for back cushions and seat cushions while also allowing the wood from the bench seats to still accent the upholstery. John's passion for the design and his business in general was clear through his excitement each time we met with him. We are so pleased with the final product and happy that we now have a go-to person for all of our custom upholstery needs. Thanks to John and his team!

Rosen Interiors did an outstanding job reupholstering a living room chair. The chair itself is not an antique or worth a great sum of money, but has great sentimental value to me. The fabric is beautiful and neutral, and I'm sure I'll be able to use it for years. John's staff had to basically redesign the arms as they had been wrapped in foam to give them a rounded appearance. The change in design and removal of a skirt has given the chair a much more contemporary look, and fits well with the rest of the furniture in the room. The workmanship is impeccable--it looks like a brand new, completely different chair! I couldn't be more pleased with the result! Working with John has been a pleasure, a consummate professional with a friendly demeanor. I would use Rosen Interiors again without question, and I highly recommend them.

Owner John Laye came to my house the morning after my first call. He came back that afternoon with samples based on his observation and our conversation and he guided me in choosing a fabric. Later that week he picked up the love-seat from my house and the sofa from my mother's apartment 4 miles away. John then went to my friend's house to see if my old sofa would fit down her basement steps; it did not look promising. The double-reclining love-seat was complicated, so the job took a week or so longer than anticipated. When the upholstering was finished, it was not convenient for me to accept delivery, so we agreed to postpone it a week or so. After agreeing on a date, we ended up rescheduling for a day earlier, which suited all parties involved. John delivered my newly-reupholstered sofa (which had come from my mom's) and my love-seat. He took my old sofa to my friend's house, and when they couldn't fit it down her basement steps, delivered it to a nearby Salvation Army, as I requested. My reclining love-seat and "heirloom" sofa look great. The color goes very well with my existing decor. John is very personable and accommodating, as demonstrated by what I think was a complicated pick-up and delivery. I did not take a lot of time to mull over fabric selections and price, but that is how I usually work anyway. John was open for my taking more time, but he seemed glad enough to get the ball rolling. We had some interesting wide-ranging conversations about travel and local issues. I rated the Price as Excellent, even though I did no comparisons and so don't know how it stacks up against competitors. There is more to value than cost.

From the beginning, this was a wonderful experience. John met me at my Mother's home to measure the windows and discuss the fabric, etc. He was able to put a quote together on the spot and followed up with an email later in the day. He promised a timeline of 3 weeks, which was met and the installation went flawlessly (Mike did great on the installation). I've had many custom window treatments done in the past but this was by far the best experience and will now be my "go to" for any window covering, upholstery projects, etc.

John responded very quickly to my initial enquiry through Angie's List and brought with him numerous books of fabric samples that were period-appropriate for the age and high quality of the sofa. John considered the other furniture pieces in the home, the oriental carpets, and my own color preferences, and quickly selected several that, in his professional opinion, related well to the style of the sofa, period authenticity, and my own personal tastes. John also provided good advice in how to select fabric for a newer wingback chair also in the Chippendale style that would coordinate well with the primary piece (the sofa) but also maximize the scale and features of the chair itself. The sofa is a massive, heavy piece that was too large to fit through the door, and had to be removed through the living room window. It took 3 people to get the sofa out, and over an hour to do it. John and his staff never complained, were persistent, and got the job done. The sofa was reupholstered sooner than John estimated. John picked me up at my home, drove me to his workshop, and allowed me to inspect the work he'd done before the pieces were returned, all on his day off. I was stunned when I saw the sofa and chair, my wildest of expectations were far exceeded in the superior quality of the fabric, the superior craftsmanship, and tremendous attention to detail, and the extra steps that were taken in the smallest things to bring this exception piece back to level of quality it had not seen in previous reupholstery jobs over this past century. The joints of the pieces were firmly re-glued and the springs re-tensioned, even small clips to hold the down-filled cushions in place were provided without extra charge. The choice of fabric and its use on both pieces, when combined with the quality of the furniture pieces themselves -- was simply stunning. Beyond what I had hoped for, and likely of a higher quality than when the sofa was first made. I wish I could post a photograph here - but you can ask John to show you, he took several photos of the pieces after they were delivered! I've very proud of the SHOWPIECE that now sits in my living room! Honestly, stop looking elsewhere, stop browsing other reupholstery companies - you're wasting your time. Just phone John, you won't find anyone better. I have nothing to gain by recommending him, and I don't normally write reviews for anyone, but I just had to do this in celebration of how he and his craftsman brought a dear old "friend" that was getting tired, and had been damaged, back to life. CALL JOHN!!

I needed to have 4 chair cushions replaced with new good quality and durable filling and fabric. John responded quickly to my initial inquiry, arrived at my home promptly at the appointment time, brought with him many fabric selections, was very knowledgeable about fabric quality and very helpful in making the selection. He explained clearly how the new cushions would be fabricated. The new cushions were delivered ahead of schedule, and they are lovely - just what I wanted. John was very professional and a pleasure to work with.

John came to my home to survey the project. The 5 pieces were in pretty rough shape and my home was a construction zone. But John was highly professional, very engaging and helpful. He made some design suggestions, but also listened to my wants and needs. He took my four young children and our lifestyle into consideration when helping with fabric selection. He was able to hold onto the chairs longer than expected because our renovation took more time. The end products were perfect! They are unique and wonderful! I would work with John and his staff again!

John was wonderful. He gave me great ideas to make my new home look modern and classic. He was always punctual for all appointments. He was very responsive to my inquiries and managed my expectations wonderfully. His installer Mike was lovely as well.

Contacted John by phone. He set up an appointment to come to my home with fabric samples about a week later. I sent him a picture of what I currently had on the chairs so he would get an idea of the color scheme. He spent a generous amount of time helping me decide on fabric. They picked up the chairs within a week and I had them back a week after that, just in time for the holidays. Great, prompt service; pleasant and patient. The man who picked up, delivered and reinstalled the seats, Michael, is a real gentleman. Thanks John & Michael. Great job. Much better experience than the one I had with a major, nationwide reupholstery chain, whose intials are CC!!

I wanted window treatments that would be completely different from the blinds that my mother had and that would complement the new wallpaper I had chosen for each room. Mr. Laye listened to my wishes and immediately suggested two types of window treatments. One type was used for the first floor; the other type was installed on the second. I noticed that many reviewers used the work "professionalism" when describing their experiences with Mr. Laye and his crew. I would go beyond that and tell you that I tremendously enjoyed working with Mr. Laye. I felt that he was extremely caring and honest, and he always wanted to place my interests first. He helped me obtain a $450 rebate for the window treatments I purchased.

Friendly and professional team installed the beautiful blinds and removed my old ones to the dumpster. The entire process from the initial measurement to the installation was problem free. The Odysee light filtering blinds are magnificent. I absolutely love the product!

Vendor arrived at stated day and time, installation team worked efficiently to install custom draperies and steam the fabric as well. The team was professional and courteous throughout. The finished lined draperies are beautifully crafted. I have no reservations recommending this family business. They love what they do!

Everything went extremely well. Everyone was on time and it didn't take them long to do the work. They were very courteous and professional. The furniture looks brand new. The workmanship was exceptional. It looks like upholstery instead of slip covers because of the great fit.

The experience was very professional. They followed thru with everything they said they would provide. The team of individuals who came to install were really good, conscientious and very much perfectionist in making sure everything was installed correctly. Everyone was very nice and clearly cared about the customer experience. It was an exceptional experience and would recommend their services to anyone.

John was very quick to respond to my inquiry, and came out to see me on the first date I was available to meet. I was pretty sure I wanted Roman shades, and had already tentatively selected a fabric I had found online, but I wanted to get his thoughts on the subject as well. We did end up doing fabric Romans on the two picture windows, and, per his suggestion, a woven wood shade on the door. I might add that the fabric I selected had to be ordered and shipped from the UK, which he took care of for me. The fabric did get stuck in Customs for a bit, which held things up, but I always knew that was a possibility. We were in no big rush so it was a non-issue. All three shades were installed last week, and I have to say it looks pretty fabulous! (And did I mention I'm an NCIDQ certified Interior Designer and super picky?) We will definitely be using this company in the future.

Everything went fine, and the couch looks great. It took just a tiny bit longer than we expected it to take, but the work is top quality.

Spectacular service! John came out to our house for consultation. He was extremely flexible and accommodating to our busy schedule. We told him that we are thinking of Roman Shades and described our style, color preference, and what we are looking to accomplish in terms of look and function in the rooms. He was immediately able to provide guidance and his expertise on window treatment to steer us towards products that matched our need and style. He was 100% 'right on' with his recommendations. Our shades look fantastic. But the best part about Rosen interiors is their customer service. Installation was a breeze, and they even came out to remove and reinstall the shades when we had to repaint the house. John and his company is highly recommended.

Having moved to Philadelphia from several states away to a newly remodeled condo was a wonderful but also challenging experience. While I had ideas about the way I envisioned the decor, the execution of those ideas needed some assistance. Working with Caroline Laye of Rosen Interiors provided exactly what I needed. She was energetic and a creative problem-solver as she worked with me on choosing two important elements--colors for the walls and also the window treatments. Caroline came to my condo with an excellent array of paint colors and window treatment samples. She was reasonable and easy to work with. After I had confidently made my selections, she communicated all the paint colors, types of paint, and detailed instructions to the contractor in an organized and timely fashion. Now that I am living in my condo, I am absolutely delighted with the outcome that makes me smile every day. With this, I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline Laye and Rosen Interiors.
