Showed up an hour late with 3 men and 1 truck for a job they had previewed. Move took 18 hours until the men walked off the job at 3 am. Did not even assemble the beds until after we slept on mattresses until new men returned They left a grill, outdoor table (they brought the chairs only) basketball nets and other items at old property- never went back to get them. They broke a bed frame, badly damaged one side of a dresser and left my front door leaning against a wall. Left the feet off of a sofa and we can’t find them. Would not return voicemails, calls or texts for over a week and then. - With absolutely no apology nor proposal for how they were going to retrieve my items or fix the ones they broke - accused me of trying to get out of paying their bill (they never even sent one) and/or of not having the funds to pay the bill. Screamed at me until I had to end the call. Services were rendered but not completed, and rendered very poorly. Customer service nonexistent.

They didn't label any of the boxes. I had clothing in my basement and my living area. The clothes from the basement could have just gone in to the storage shed. It's not clear which cloths are which because they didn't label them. They also didn't pack the clothing in wardrobe boxes.

The first was good as far as I recall except for my couch getting a bit dirty. The second move was into a very small storage unit. The third move was where I realized many things had gone wrong. My antique couch has several deep cracks in on the arms and is weakened and ruined, many other pieces of furniture such as desks and tables have deep scratches, etc. I have several family heirlooms like dishes and glasses that are broken and ruined. Boxes were placed in the wrong rooms all over the house which took many hours to locate and move around. I found one box empty. I have several lamps that were broken. One small table was badly cracked and ruined. The move was a disaster. I was not there when the storage unit was emptied. When they arrived this third time, i was told the move would go much faster if they didn't count the boxes so i agreed. I realized later the many boxes were crushed and much damage had occurred. I know from the previous and temporary move that the couch and other furniture was not badly damaged, although not in pristine condition, as there were superficial scratches like most old furniture. I spend around $3000 in total with this company because I thought I was hiring "professional" movers. I feel each team got progressively worse. I would not recommend them. They have shown no sympathy, have not followed up with me after seeing the damage weeks ago. They told me they are not legally responsible for any boxed items. I feel that the weight of staking boxes and furniture very high did some of the damage. The only reaction was that the owner said, "this I'm upset about" about my couch which again is severely damaged. He and another employee came to my house and kept denying my claims saying it was old scratches and that some buffer or furniture polish could solve the problem They offered to have the couch "fixed" but the point they missed is that the value of these items has been permanently lost and the sentimental loss is also permanent. I was very upset unpacking all of these damaged belongings and doubly upset that they didn't seem to care. I can't imagine the loss of items had they been allowed to box all of my items considering the way they couldn't handle a sturdy and heavy wooden couch. If not for newspaper, bubble wrap and other fillers, the loss might have been enormous. I read on their website many details about how items are handled such as wrapping furniture, etc. I can't imagine how my belongings were treated to be in this terrible shape.

This is in response to Mr. [removed member name] Complaint: First let me express my serious concerns in the insubstantial accusations of Mr. [removed member name]. He has moved with us on several different times into small apartments and there was never a problem before. For this most recent move, we put him into storage while he was waiting to make settlement on his new home which he told me on many phone conversations how he was having a problem with his father not affording any financial assistance for this move. Point 1 which is a very important fact: [removed member name]packed all the small items himself. This is called PBO (Packed by owner) and we are not responsible for how he packed his boxes, we cannot control how and what was packed by customer. Their own items we assume have been packed per their own specifications specifically if they are such: ”treasured and Sentimental items”. Point 2: Mr. [removed member name] packed all his lamps, dishes, cups, plates, glass ware and bottles. Again, the issue is with the way in which he wrapped and packed these items. None of the boxes were packed or filled to the top correctly to avoid stacking issues. Due to the fact that he did not load them or wrap items correctly this caused them to be to light in the corners and therefore unable to withstand any extra weight which then of course can cause buckling and damage to the contents. Point 3: Many of the pieces of furniture that Mr. [removed member name] claims where damaged in the move are completely false. Most of his furniture, as he even stated in his complaint, has had scratches and typical wear and tear damages from being older pieces. We know this because we moved him three times His answer to that was “Oh they are old and it really does not matter” since he would be getting new ones as soon as he could afford to. Point 4: Once he alerted us to these issues we promptly made an appointment to go to his new home and assess the damages. Upon seeing most of the items I was confused as he stated many of these items were antiques. Once we assessed the furniture we were surprised to notice that many of these so called “antiques “and “irreplaceable items” were not even antique items. Having been in the furniture and moving business for over 20 years, these items, while older and valued family heirlooms had been previously damaged and not been damaged in this current move as he is claiming. We explained what P.B.O stood for which is packed by owner and since he packed all his own items we could not be responsible for boxes that were packed by him. We have no idea if those items were broken before we even moved them at this point. However we did explain to Mr. [removed member name] because he was such a good customer we would gladly take care of his sofa and any of the wood items that looked like they had marks on them. We also stated that we would fix the arm on the sofa which had come lose. Mr. [removed member name] then proceeded to state that his plates that where broken where 24 karate gold. If that had been true then 24 karate gold plates should not have been packed in a box with old coffee mugs, and books other items that have not been packed with valued items. These items had no packing paper in between each dish; they were just lying on top of each other with nothing to protect them. The dishes had been wrapped in newspaper around the whole stack hoping to keep everything in place. Professional movers would have wrapped these pieces correctly using proper material in dish packs and then this type of damage would never have occurred. Our policy with all of our customers is to have all paper work signed and any info noted of any issues at that time that the job went well. Mr. [removed member name] was very happy with the crew we sent to do his move. He signed all paperwork. We will be happy to forward any and all paperwork upon your request. We have tried very hard to get in touch with Mr. [removed member name] to set up an appointment for us to come out and pick up his sofa so we can fix the arm. We did already touch up and fix his scratches on a lot of his wood pieces the first day that we were there to see him. We also attempted to finish touching up additional previously scratched furniture, but Mr. [removed member name] had prior engagements and asked us to return another day to finish up the repairs. We have tried on at least four different dates to call him so we could set up a time to send our furniture repair man to go out and get these items taken care of for him. Till this day we have had no response from him except this recent letter from the B.B.B. Please note that Mr. [removed member name] as with all of our clients were given the option at the start of each of their moves to purchase additional insurance (pricing based on coverage) or stay with the standard $.60 per pound per item which is free with the move. Mr. [removed member name] declined this option on all of his moves due to the additional cost. The cost of moving in and out of storage has been part of this issue. We are very unhappy that he feels our services this last move did not meet his expectations however, we cannot be held accountable for items wrapped and packed in sealed boxes or furniture scratched that are not new or fresh as many of our photos prove. Mr. [removed member name] is stating that he may be taking us to small claims court for the sum of $3000.00 dollars which is close to the total amount of all his past moves.

They were a great company to deal with. Doug and Scott are both really good guys and will help ease any concerns you have along the way. The moving crews that moved us were also a great bunch of guys. Very professional and very clean. I would use them again in the future without thinking twice. Very reasonable prices as well.

The first couple of times we used them we were pleased. This time I was less than happy. A lot of my furniture was chipped. The owner did some what fix my furniture, but it still is not the same. I saw one guy carry my furniture with his phone in his hand. I was pretty upset about that.

The crew were fabulous, could not say enough about them. They were very fast and worked extremely hard. Inspect your furniture before they leave, hold money back if there is an issue, it is like pulling teeth to get them to resolve issues after they have your money. 6 months later and I still have an issue. The crew were great, they worked hard and fast. My hallway hardwood floors were scratched when the brought in the refrigerator. I called them repeatedly to have them come and resolve the issue and I was told that one of their employees would get back to me. Finally, fed up because my beautiful reclaimed, extinct reclaimed elm hardwood floors had a big scratch in the hallway. I called a repair service to come fix the floor. Still calling back, no resolution. Finally one day, I called and I heard a woman in the background saying ?fax us the bill we will send you a check.? That problem was resolved. They also put a big dent in my refrigerator door. Same thing, calls, emails, no response. I would get it fixed but I don?t know who does that type of work. I called the manufacturer and they did not know who to refer me to as well. Still not resolved. We have an office on the 1st floor which is just a storage room at this point. After the move, I went in there to find something and there is a big chunk out of a piece of furniture. One of the movers tried to put the chunk back where it came from to hid the damage. I know they say, they are not responsible for fiberboard furniture but they could have told me. UPDATE: If you need stress in your life hire Ramsey's Moving. If there is a problem that will cost them money, good luck in getting it resolved. Buy the additional insurance that they offer, it is a must because if there is an issue they will fight tooth and nail to get out of it. They damaged my "rare" hardwood floors and after many calls they finally reimbursed me and complained about the bill I submitted, basically questioned me if I had them fixed and wanted a photo of the damage from me. The day of the move their supervisor took a photo, but was told he "deleted it because he had too many photos on his phone" They also damaged my refrigerator door that is $150.00 and are fighting with me over $50.00. Their customer service is horrible and they will blame issues on YOU! I just read a lengthy complaint on the BBB site and their response was "the client was trying to get a free move". I filed a complaint and part of their answer was "However there are in some occasions customers no matter what you try and do for them they will never be happy and are just looking for some way to try and make money back on what they feel is ok for them." I am not trying to get money back, make money; I just don't want to pay for their damage! The opening line of their complaint rebuttal was a complete lie! ?In response to Mrs. Gilberts Complaint We had contacted her on several different occasions. We finally did get a hold of her to address her issues.? I had called them many times, emailed them and even one of their associates said " I am going to kill Scott if he does not get back to you" I had called them many times, emailed them and even one of their associates said " I am going to kill Scott if he does not get back to you". At one point I advised one of their team members that I was going to write another complaint on Angie's list and he said he was going to call his sales representative. I hope that complaints are not swept under the rug with a call to the sales representative. I am in marketing and they have horrific customer service. Why in the world would you write things that imply that your clients are dishonest? I am not a person that is never happy when someone is trying to work with me. They have made this very difficult and are not good at defending their positions. .

In response to [member name removed] complaint, we had contacted her on several different occasions. Please be aware that prior to all work being performed all customers are given the option of various different levels of insurance to cover instances like this. We can provide all copies of signed legal documentation if needed. [member name removed] declined the Full Value Protection Insurance coverage and chose the standard $.60 per pound per article as it was standard and free. We repeatedly tried to contact [member name removed] and were finally able to coordinate the repairs. [member name removed] submitted a receipt in the repair of her floor for reimbursement. The work that was performed on her hard wood floor was not covered under the damage waiver she had signed, however we were willing to discuss the opportunity to fix the situation with her. When we were issued the receipt it did not have any company information or corresponding phone numbers and we needed to further investigate prior to payment. We also did resolve the issue of her refrigerator door. The replacement parts are ordered and awaiting installation upon [member name removed] approval. She was notified of this and was very happy that it was going to be completed for her. As always we do our very best to keep our customers happy and we are very accommodating and compliant with all our customers. The crew showed up about 9:30 and decided that they would not split the trucks but would pack them as they saw fit- mistake number one. Considering the limited contents of our home it seemed to take quite a long time to finish loading the trucks. We offered to lead both trucks to the apartment but they insisted they could find it via gps - mistake number 2. We left our home after the trucks left and arrived at the apartment in under 10 minutes- no trucks. Another 10 minutes passed- no trucks. We tried to reach Scott and finally got his partner, who had not heard from his crew- rather odd since he had our phone number and they did not. The trucks finally showed up 45 minutes after leaving our house and we were told that their gps could not find the apartment! They began to unload both trucks and I knew we were going to have issues when they brought in most of the boxes before the furniture- our apartment has 2 bedrooms and a den but the space is tight and bringing furniture into the rooms after the boxes gave us no room to maneuver. We had also told them that we wanted 3 of our area rugs to be brought to the apartment....they assembled our bed and brought up our couch and office furniture- when we asked them about the rugs one of the men replied that since we had carpeting he didn't think we wanted the rugs. They complained about moving some of the furniture to accomodate two of the rugs but it was too late for the bedroom rug. Speaking of the bedroom, it took 3 men 45 minutes to attach a mirror to the triple dresser! I heard the crew ask each other about the location of important screws or missing pieces every time they had to reassemble something- why couldn't they keep the pieces secure and designate the person who took something apart to reassemble it..... My husband watched them remove a small marble console table from the truck to a dolly where it promptly fell off and the edge was badly chipped. The crew didn't even react about the damage- right after that they dropped a box off the truck that contained our DVR- fortunately it had been packed in its original box or it would never have survived the fall. The crew was getting antsy and complaining about the time it was taking- and they still had to go to the storage facility 2 miles away. At one point we realized that no one was back in the apartment with us and when my husband went downstairs the crew were in both trucks ready to leave- even though they had no address for the storage facility. No one told us they were going and they had left a HUGE tv box behind in the apartment- we had to rent a van to transport it to storage because it could not fit in either of our cars. My husband led them to the storage area where they tried to fill the unit without leaving a center aisle and had to be reminded to put the wardrobes and clothing boxes in an accessible area. The crew finally departed- with major attitude. Many of the wood surfaces of my furniture are now marred by scratches and dings-I am quite concerned about the condition of the furniture in storage- hopefully all the assembly pieces are there - the brass rail for my dining room buffet was left in the apartment rather than attached to the piece which is now in storage. Scott "fixed" the leg of our armoire by using a stain marker- it did nothing to fill in the deep gash but he thought it was adequate. When we asked him about the damaged marble table his reply was that we did not accept the insurance and after further discussion insisted that we pay him a deductible. Our argument was that the insurance provided should not be necessary since we were only moving a few miles and if anything catastrophic occurred we would go through our homeowners insurance. We had to call Scott numerous times about our table and just received it last week -5 months after our move. He insisted on collecting $50.00 (negotiated down from $150) even though it was damaged by pure negligence. We did not receive one apology about the table and although he credited us for the 45 minutes the crew were lost, our bill was $3400-$600 over the estimate. We have had numerous moving experiences which included 3 moves in the last 6 year-one of them cross-country. All of our moves involved huge amounts of furniture- boxes,appliances, garage items,and more bedroom and basement furniture.We have never had more than a 6 man crew and all the moves were completed in the same time as this one- with at least a doubling of household goods!! We truly regret that we entrusted Ramsey's with our possessions and still cannot believe that our request to repair a table damaged through negligence was met with no apology and a demand for money.......appalling customer service!
Description of Work: We used Ramsey's Moving to move 7 rooms of furniture ( living room, dining room, office, family room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms to an apartment within 4 miles of our home.They did not have to move any appliances and we carried 90% of our boxes to the main level of the house and put them in designated areas for the apartment or the storage unit. We also moved all the wardrobes to the main level in order to save time and effort for the 6 movers. We received an estimate of $2800.00 for time and labor and assurances that the contents of our home would be carefully treated and that two trucks would be used- one for storage and the other for the apartment.

Arrived 1.5 hours early (7:30 am). It was a very hot day and they wanted to beat the heat. That's understandable but they didn't let us know. It was fortunate that we were at the office doing last minute things so it worked out fine. The crew leader told me he had not been told that our office had no elevator and we were on the top floor - so they had three staircases of about 9 steps to go up and down. This space was not air conditioned and was very warm due to the hot, humid day. They also had no liquid refreshments so I supplied them with two coolers of ice, water and gatorade. Despite this, one of the men went home sick. The entire crew was pleasant and hard working despite the circumstances. I have no complaints about the work ethic or displayed by the crew. They were quality people. I wish the estimator had let the work crew know about the physical aspects of the job. (He told me later they were told??) We were to have two trucks but only one arrived. I called about it right away but the second truck did not arrive until between 1 and 2 PM and took the trash but never returned. So we did not have the help we thought we were getting based on the written estimate. I called the office the next week to see if they would do something about the extra money we had to pay. I was told that the man I needed to talk to was away, but that they would work with me and get back to me the following week. I never heard from them and it's not up to me to chase them around. The grades above are hard to tally because I think the men who did the work did a good job but I'm not happy with the estimator or the responses to my request early in the day to deliver what they promised. Nor am I impressed by the fact that they didn't get back to me after the fact when I called them on the issues.

We decided to hire movers to move our daughter into yet another apartment, five in five years! And this latest one was a fourth floor walk-up in an old building, lots of narrow stairs. She had about a month between leases so all of her furniture and boxes were at our house in Delaware County. The movers were here right on time to load the truck at the house. They were done in no time flat! They had her stuff all moved into the apartment very quickly and then helped to get her roommate's furniture and boxes up the stairs as well. Super friendly and professional, took care of her belongings so nothing was damaged or broken. Would definitelty use them again.

They were supposed to arrive at 1 pm with two men and a driver and instead arrived at 4:30 pm with a driver and 4 men. Too much confusion. My sofa cushions were taken off the sofa and tossed on the stairs as they walked downstairs. I had to ask them to take them off the floor. My favorite occasional chair arrived with a new visible ding in the finish. Rain also complicated the issue. There were a few young inexperienced loaders who had to be watched and advised. Not impressed. I will say that they did make promises to pick up our furniture on June 28th and deliver it on June 28th and they did do that. There was no follow up call or email from the company for feedback. Workers mentioned several times about being overworked and under appreciated. Would not use them again.

Due to a miscommunication my customers who were moving in less than 2 weeks found themselves in a situation where they were without movers on the busiest week of the year to move. I spoke with the owner of Ramsey as I am a realtor and recommended Ramsey movers and the owner "squeezed in" a time slot and added several additional moving men to have my customers moved out of their old home and into their new home in record time. The move went smoothly and came in under estimate. The guys loaded the truck correctly for the two stops. They had the house emptied in about 2 hours. They were professional and very polite. They arrived early and worked around a few obstacles on our end without a problem. I would gladly hire them again.
Description of Work: I hired Ramsey's Moving to move my Father in Law from his home to an apartment. Prior to moving day, I added an extra stop to drop items at my brother in law's apartment.

This is a terrific outfit. They came on time to survey my office and responded quickly with an estimate. The estimator was thorough and friendly. I immediately felt as if I were in good hands. On the day of the move, three men came right on time and proceeded to load the truck carefully and efficiently. It took a lot less time than I thought it would. When we got to the new location, they unloaded - again, carefully and efficiently - in a lot less time than I thought it would take. They came in almost $100 under the estimate! Ramsey's is the best. I would never use another mover.

We have used Ramsey Moving two times prior to this move. THey are excellent, professional, on time, extremely efficient. They worked with our difficult schedule and delivered within the estimate costs. Their staff is wonderful, very patient and kind. Superior Service!

The guys did a fantastic job. They were efficient, careful, courteous & pleasant & worked very hard to do it all as quickly as we asked to keep cost down. They were absolutely terrific. Would highly recommend Alex, Jasper, & George to anyone!

They were very good and the price was reasonable.
Description of Work: I used Ramsey's Moving Systems for a clean out service. They cleaned out the entire contents of a house. In this case they cleaned out a hoarder's belongings from the property he was evicted from.
