I was initially very excited about First Shift. The owner comes to clean the house himself with another team member who is meant to be used consistently for your service. A list of what would be cleaned was also provided by the owner and seemed to be very thorough considering what I found to be a very reasonable price quote. We are a pretty easy cleaning job as my husband and I do not have children and keep our house very clutter free. We handled some of the cleaning items on our own (sheet and towel changes for instance). Initially things went very well, but over time the quality of the work was declining. We had First Shift come in when were at work and when I would get home, items were consistently missed. I attempted to resolve this with polite requests for extra attention to certain areas, and the owner was always apologetic and offered to fix it. Over time, however, the problem did not improve. Things were always missed (basic dusting, floors and sometimes counters, toilets, or even whole rooms). I started to feel like we were getting a once over surface cleaning. Based on this suspicion - I pulled up my security system logs (we have a system that records motion, doors, and alarm settings). We had provided First Shift with a code just for the company to enter the house so it was easy to tell when they came and went. As I went back into our records, I came to find out that our cleaning sessions were lasting an average of 45 minutes - for a 3 floor house! Note the owner estimates 2-2.5 hours per cleaning. I also took his cleaning checklist and walked through the house, more than 50% of the promised cleaning was not completed, and that which was was not thorough or complete. We will not be using First Shift again and would strongly discourage hiring a company that makes a practice of not providing the promised services.
Description of Work: I hired First Shift Home Cleaning Services for bi-weekly cleaning of our home (approximately 3000-3500) square feet. We agreed on $125 for the house, and an additional $35 if we wanted our furnished basement cleaned.

We initially hired Joe's services shortly after moving into our house and things seemed to be going well. However, over time certain areas that had been missed became obvious as dust and dirt began to accumulate. We tried to address this issue and found that on the subsequent visit our concerns, including sticky countertops and dirty floors, had not been addressed.
Description of Work: Hired to clean 5 bedroom 3.5 bath 3200 square foot house with expectation of dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning countertops, etc.

My shower doors were streaked, they was dust under the furniture and the wooden blinds were not done at all. I was very disappointed in them. The $100 was for two people for an hour and a half.
Description of Work: They are very nice people, the owner comes out on the job and gives a very nice resume of the work to be performed. They just don't do the work.
