This contractor was recommended from my request on Angie's List. I never was contacted by them. I called several times with no return call.

The work was great.

It did not go well when we learned that the wrong type of roofing was used on the flat area of our roof, which caused the roof to leak into our new addition. Our crawlspace insulation was installed upside down, and proper drainage systems were not put in place prior to the construction, resulting in mold in the crawlspace. Our heating system also installed incorrectly, resulting in extremely high heating bills. We ended up spending an additional 12,000.00 to correct mistakes, Won a judgment against the company in court, and the owner still has not paid us for the damages. Please be aware before using this contractor.

Scheduled an appointment with Mike & he called to say he was running about 15 minutes late, but we waited at the house for over an hour with no follow-up phone call from him. I tried to call him twice again, before we eventually just gave up and even after I left a message for him, he never even bothered to call me back to say when he was a no show.

Two projects: Mike and crew did two major projects for me. First project was to build a new deck coming off the back of my house. This included breaking through the dining room and installing double sliding doors. DeMeo Builders did a magnificent job. I can honestly say 9 months later the quality of his work is top notch. His price is very fair and reasonable. My deck measures basically 25 x 16. The doors off the dining room add so much light and just make my small home seem much more open. What I am particularity pleased with, in the dead of winter, is that there is no draft whatsoever where those doors are. I can?t tell you the positive comments from everyone who sees it. Excellent workmanship!!! Second project was a complete rebuild of my front porch. It was enclosed but we could only use a few months out of the year (too hot in mid-summer and too cold in winter) He completely rebuilt it, converting my enclosed porch area into a 4 season additional square footage for our living space. We just love it. But what I appreciated the most is Mike?s ?can do? attitude. Several construction companies were very ?half-empty?. All I heard from some folks was ?oh, big problem here? or like comments. I never heard anything like that from Mike. He had resolutions for each challenge. He really listened to what we wanted and went above board to deliver. He seemed to know what I needed and wanted when I didn?t even know. For example, we have very little storage space. No closet on the first floor. So I asked him to put a closet across the whole length of the side of the new porch. Mid job, he stopped and asked me if half the size would work for the closet and he would make built in shelves in the other half. I would never have thought of that. And we LOVE it. I think it is one of the best qualities of our new room. Beautiful and much more serviceable than closet alone. And from the outside, you would never know it is an ?add on?. He was able to match the siding exactly. It was very important to me to have transom windows. He went out of his way to get exactly what I wanted and where he couldn?t order exactly the size needed for over the door, he custom made it. He came back and installed window boxes for me (at no extra charge). He asked if I wouldn?t like a mail box. And an outside light? Of course, yes, great idea. Ordered and installed at no extra charge. Split Heating and cooling system for the new room that also provides cooling for the main rooms on the first floor. He just had one resolution after another Mike?s positive attitude, experience, and skilled workmanship were more than my husband and I ever expected. His estimate was a solid price. No surprises, no additional charges for anything. You would think for the work his quotes would have been at the top of the list. But it was not. Apples to apples, he came in @ $3,000 under another estimate from a quality local construction company. If I had to bring up any negatives, it would only be that he doesn?t always respond as timely as I would have liked. But not a deal breaker at all. I would hire him again without question. So on a scale of 1-10, Mike gets a 9.5. Great work, Mike DeMeo et el.

Everything went very well. Mike did a good job working with us as we brainstormed ideas and was flexible and open about what would and would not work. He made us feel like part of the process and that he was concerned that we were going to get what we wanted.

After calling several contractors for this job, we received a few estimates (some were more and one was less)but we had a good feeling about Mike. He is a local contractor and has done work in our development so he knows the houses. He was courteous, professional, and nothing was too much trouble for him. He worked with us to find what we wanted for the shower and floor. The work was done pretty much on time with little disruption to our schedule. We would definitely hire Demeo Builders again. As a matter of fact, we are getting estimates now for additional work to be done and when it is time for us to decide, we will be using Mike.

Our overall expericence with DeMeo Builders was and still is excellent!

First let me say I was concerned about starting a project that involved ripping off the existing roof given the record rain fall. I placed alot on Mike's ( owner) shoulders with regards to getting the project weather tight quickly. He made it happen. Mike was a pleasure to work with. I am a pretty demanding homeowner, having done numerous home improvement projects myself. I tried to make the transaction easier by having a clear scope of work as part of the bidding process and before we started and so we would not have any unnecessary surprises later. Any items that I asked for outside of the estimate was communicated clearly. We emailed daily with questions and comments on that days progress. He never had anything other than "no problem" come as a response to items that didn't exactly meet my demanding expectations. His crew was professional. He left the job site in good shape once the job was completed.He even came back to "tweak" a few things after he received the final check. I'm not used to that for sure!
