Lined chimney with a heat shield. Installed a damper Installed new fireplace doors. Phil and his crew were very clean, neat and organized. The weather had been nice but these 3 days of my repair were snowy and rainy. My carpets were covered and the work area was tented to keep dirt and dust confined. They took the time to explain what they were doing . Ginger was also great in receiving my calls and getting back to me with information. Thanks for a great job !!!

The service was so good. They took care of the service without any ash in the air. He cleaned up after himself. He informed us on different things about our chimney. He was very thorough and he laid tarps down and he vacuumed and he used a brush as well. He was friendly to work with. The price was reasonable.

They were recommended by another Angie's list customer. I called to get an estimate on work to be done to my chimney. I was told they would charge me $180 for this inspection but if I emailed them a report from another company they would give me quote. Not very helpful.

The office called the day before to confim the appointment. The technician arrived between the alloted time. He introduced himself and was very professional. He even helped move necessary items out of the way in order for him to have room to do his job. He estimated how long the job would take. I also took him to my roof deck because I needed an extension on my chimney. After cleaning the chimney he showed me some cracks that I would not have seen on my own and painted a scenario based upon the type and age of my home. I truly appreciated his expertise. He gave me a detailed recommendation on how to repair the damage. He also gave me an overview of what type of work would need to be done to extend the chimney. Not only verbally but in writng as well. He said his office would follow up via email (that was my choice) as to the recommended next steps relative to scope of work and an extimate of the repair and extension. He also made recommendations on how to clean my grate on the opening of my chimney. He left the area impeccable. I have recommended them to my parents.

The work was completed in two days and we ware very satisfied and we highly recommend Chimney Cricket.

We are still waiting for the inspection report to come by mail on their findings from the work done especially the pictures taken of the roof etc. As I said we were greatful that after the last lemon we didn't get stuck again with another one. The problem is now resolved and no more squirrels!!! I would highly recommend these folks to anyone. They were very knowledgeable and professional and even gave me my Angie's discount.

They did a good job cleaning. They also repaired the firebox. They did clean up their mess before they left. I would advise the homeowner to take preliminary precautions because there is no way to totally avoid all the suit. I would recommend them.

The work was done awhile ago, but I wasn’t entirely pleased. Also, I asked for copies of the pictures a few times so I could see what exactly he was talking about, but I never received any pictures and they never called back. They were very expensive and I probably wouldn’t use them again.

The work was fine overall. The technician gave me some advice on how to get my two wood-burning stoves started & working properly as well. They did a good job.

The experience has gone very well. It’s a family-owned business. The technicians that come out are very reliable, courteous, and wear booties while in our home. They clean up very well after themselves and keep everything in order. Their price is reasonable for the work that’s done. Also, they give out coupons, sometimes 20% off for use in the off-season (like summer). They’ve done a good job overall.

We needed someone to clean out our chimney as soon as possible, so we called this company based on positive reviews on Angie's list. I was able to pay extra to get them out the same day ($50?), which made them bump someone else from their schedule. They came and cleaned out the chimney. It seems fine. I paid with a credit card at the end of the visit. I later got a few phone messages claiming that I never paid for the service. Thankfully, I still had my receipt and was able to call them with the correct information. Apparently, they had the wrong expiration date from my credit card. I would have preferred for them understand what went wrong with the payment before assuming that I never paid.

When I called to set up an appointment they were very nice and told me that they don't go into New Jersey. They gave me a web site to find someone in my area

I was converting my old oil burning heating system to a natural gas system. My HVAC installer said I might be able to save some money by having my chimney cleaned and inspected. If my chimney was in good shape he would not have to install a chimney liner. I went to Angie's List and called 4 chimney sweeps in my area. The first call I made could not schedule me for a week. The first chimney sweep to return my message was Chimney Cricket. The woman in the office said they would be able to have someone at my house between 8:00 and 10:00 the next morning and quoted me a price of $225.00 for an inspection and cleaning. Peter showed up at 9:00 am the next day and performed the inspection and cleaning. As it turns out, my chimney is not in good shape and will need repairs, however, it is serviceable for the new heater with a liner. Peter gave me a written report and took down my information so they can come out and give me an estimate on the repair work. Peter was quick, efficient and showed me pictures of the inside of the chimney showing the needed repair. I was very happy with the work performed and if the repair estimate is a reasonable price, will probably use Chimney Cricket for the repairs.

They did a chimney cleaning on October 25th. They did a good job. I was happy with their service.

Even before they got there, I was reasonably sure I needed a new liner since I have been in the house for almost 22 years and have never had it cleaned or inspected much less replaced. Peter came to the house. He was very courteous, professional and thorough. My chimney and flue were cleaned and as I suspected, I needed a new liner. We were about a week away from needing to turn on the heat but I was afraid to do that until I had a new liner. They were very kind and made arrangements to get the liner installed in time. Of course like everything else on my house, it was not easy to accomplish but the team who did the work (including Peter) never complained. They got the work done which included putting a animal guard at the top of my chimney. They were all very polite and professional and cleaned up. Was the price high? It was not cheap but I don't think it was unfair. The price was most likely right on. As long as I keep it maintained with yearly cleaning and inspections my liner has a lifetime guarantee. I was very happy with the entire experience including the wonderful woman at the office who schedules and follows up on phone calls. I would definitely recommend them and they will be the people I call every year for my maintenance.

I have used Chimney Cricket for the past ten years. In that time, I have had the heater flu swept and inspected regularly and had the chimney lined and capped. Always, Phil and his crew (including the secretary) have been friendly, efficient, competent, professional, flexible, honest, and reasonable. Unless the company is dissolved or bought by someone else, I won't use anyone but Chimney Cricket for my chimney needs in the future. This is one happy customer at a time when so many businesses are disappointing people for one reason or another! I am grateful to have Chimney Cricket on my "home help" resource list.

I looked up chimney sweeps on Angies List, saw that Chiminy Cricket got excellent reviews and called for an appointment. Do to the time of year (late fall), they were booking out about 6 weeks. I wasn't in a rush so I booked the appointment and was told that they would call a day or two before the appointment to confirm and that I had to return the call or they would cancel the appointment. As expected, they called the Friday before, I called them back, confirmed, and they showed up within the 2-hour window. Two men showed up, one got to work cleaning out the fireplace and the other did the inspection. I talked with him about fireplaces, chimneys, etc., and he was really nice. When I asked him about the option of buying a wood burning stove instead of repairing the chimney, he gave me good advice, a brand name stove I could research and never gave me any pressure about doing one thing or the other. It was a very pleasant experience.

Overall, it went very well. When I placed my first call, Ginger asked pertinent questions that resulted in the conclusion that a sweep was probably all that was need to resolve the furnace's draft issue. Phil, the technician gave me a clear, concise written report detailing the problems with the original chimney liner, explained the issues in a manner that I could understand, and pointed out the various problems in the pictures he took of the chimney. Originally, it appeared that they would not be able to schedule the service for two to three weeks. But faced with a cold snap where heat was needed, Ginger & Phil worked to rearrange their calendar so the service could be scheduled in two days. Phil & Peter were personable, all work was performed in a professional manner, all debris was removed & the work area cleaned. This was a positive experience & I recommend highly recommend the company.
