Description of Work: Swept 3 fireplace flues in 1 chimney. Clean & respectful. Video inspection of most used flue showed type III creosote. Recommending further service to deal with this.

Description of Work: They installed chimney liner, cap, connection to gas appliances and masonry repairs to brick chimney. All appointments were on time or early, Charles and his crew were friendly, professional, thorough and forthcoming about all phases of process.

Description of Work: Chimney Cricket | |I live in a twin home and love and use my chimney every year. | |A year ago I had Chimney Cricket clean and inspect my chimney. I was told I needed a liner. Upon working on the liner, suddenly they realized the outside of the chimney needed repair to prevent and stop water leaking as well as a cap. After some research and estimates I had them complete the outside work as well, figuring it best to keep with one company. | |Since I share the chimney stack with my neighbor who I have had problems with in the past, I asked Chimney Cricket to make sure they spoke with her about the work prior to doing the job and show her the pictures of the damage. Chimney Cricket left unreturned voice mail messages. After speaking with my neighbor personally, she accepted no responsibility and I paid for the entire outside myself. | |I had Chimney Cricket come back for a sweep and inspection this year only to find the entire inside lining had been destroyed. They said they were responsible and would resolve the matter, but needed to research why it happened. After weeks and several no-call backs I finally got in touch with them. They had spoken to the manufacturer of the lining and it was probably due to moisture, likely from my neighbor's side. They said they would try to get a look at the inside of her chimney and see if that was the issue. If they had any issues dealing with my neighbor, they would research the matter with the township. She did not respond to their attempt at contact. | |Over several weeks I had to follow up with no call backs. CC now said I would have to deal with the township to get permission to inspect her chimney. The township told me it was a civil issue and I would need to go to court. | |At long last my neighbor had a competitor inspect her chimney as well as the outside. I followed up with Chimney Cricket again only to find they wanted to refund my money, however, the competing company was supposed to go back and CC would call me with findings the next Monday. The competitor came back and I saw them make some repairs- I have never found out what- and left. I never got the call back from CC as I was told. | |After more calls to get results, Chimney Cricket finally scheduled a day to come back to correct the liner, but said they had no idea what had happened. "Maybe" it was installed incorrectly [by CC]. The night before my appointment, they left me a message for a different appointment time. I called back saying that it was not the right time, it was very last minute for a change, and I had to find someone to be home because I had hospital tests to be performed. Then they called back later, after I made changes to accommodate, and reverted back to the original time. | |Upon working to repair the liner, they gave up because they couldn't get the damaged liner out. Again, they wanted to refund my money and walk away. I had to call after a week to remind them about the refund. | |Now I have a $6000 chimney I can't use with a damaged liner and no root cause and a even more strained relationship with my neighbor. Not sure what this will mean with any future repairs or corrections. After all this time I'm disappointed with the ultimate results. |

Description of Work: We’ve used them repeatedly for several different things chimney-related, including cleaning. Within the last six months, they installed chimney caps. The experience has been excellent.

Description of Work: Cleaned our chimney and put damper back into position so that it now closes tightly.
