As a replacement window contractor we understand that and strive to use our years of experience to provide the best customer service possible. We are locally owned and operated in Mechanicsburg PA. Along with being locally owned, all of our replacement window installers are full-time employees, they install our replacement windows, patio doors, and entry doors for us every day for 52 weeks a year. We also make your purchase easy by providing energy efficient products, the best interest free financing in the industry, and exceptional installation and service. We strive to be the best window contractor, because we believe it is all about helping people.
Our new bath and shower is beautiful. Caulking could be a little neater/nicer but fine. We waited the full 24 hours for drying and began to use it. The day after we started using it we found a wet spot on our dining room ceiling under the tub/shower. We called West Shore and they had somebody out within two hours to stop and fix the leaking. West Shore made arrangements for the ceiling to be repaired on a Saturday so we would not miss any more time from work. I asked for the local manager to give me a call and no one has communicated with us. I appreciate that the problem has been fixed but the trust is gone. Are we going to have further problems? I feel as if the company needs to make things right with us and keep the promises of trust and quality we were given during the sales pitch.

On West Shore's first visit to my home salesman Jason showed me a good product, not the best I had seen but a good one, and mentioned his price along with the standard sales gimmick that I had to buy now to get that price. I declined, saying that I wanted to shop around. He left, giving me neither written proposal nor brochure about the product. (I would learn that this is Standard Operating Procedure in the replacement window biz.) A day or two later someone from West Shore's "Quality Department" telephoned to ask how the visit went and then added, "by the way, we reviewed your pricing and think we made a mistake. We'd like to come speak with you again." Well, ok, I guess. Before the agreed upon date came I had to reschedule and when I did so I asked the young lady (or so she sounded on the telephone) "can't you just tell me your new price over the phone?" "No, he might have to remeasure your windows" came the reply. So we set a new date and this time sales manager Mato visited (another SOP is that they never send the first guy back), offered me a new price about a thousand dollars cheaper, still no written proposal or brochure, and made sure I understood about the same as cash financing in case money was the reason for my hesitation. No, I said, I have more shopping to do. He left and by the way never remeasured anything. In the end, after speaking with a total of four companies, I chose one of the others, whose product, I felt, was as good but whose price was a couple of thousand lower. My advice to anyone is, no matter what they say, tell them you're not ready to make a decision and talk to three or four companies. Ed Schrom

Sales rep came out to give me a quote. Said since I was a past customer that I would receive 30 percent off. They quoted me $15800.00! I ended up painting the door and getting a new handle. Then a couple days later they wanted to come back out and renegotiate the price. Forget it!

When I made the appointment to meet with West Shore I asked for samples of the windows so I could actually see what I was buying. I decided on slider windows but the only sample available to look at was a double hung which caused confusion on my part because I did not realize with a slider window it does not slide all the way over due to the locks (see picture), Had I seen the window I was buying I would have made a different choice. Also, we discussed that the windows would be made of thermo seal glass for energy efficiency which is a good thing but there was no discussion about the fact that the incoming light would be muted and there would be NO natural light coming thru. You see a green tint when you look out (see picture) and there is much less light coming in. My kitchen is now dark when rooms I did not have windows replaced are many shades lighter. I did not ask for the thermo seal and there was NO discussion of the negative impact of the light coming thru. The results are not acceptable. When you sell a product that is going to have such a dramatic affect on the lighting in a room, that needs to be disclosed. I would have never agree to these windows if I had know I would loss the natural light. I reached out to West Shore and hope they fix this situation ASAP. In addition I was told of the company always checks for lead as if it was a perk of using West Shore but found that I was actually charged for the lead test. This was a lot of money to be so unhappy with the results.

A quality product, not cheap, but the worst, pushy, arrogant salesman i have encountered in decades. If his lack of professionalism is an indicator of the company's quality work, it would be unwise to use their products.

I had west shore in my home for 2 hours, the salesperson was very professional and courteous. She was knowledgeable about the product. My problem is not with the salesperson, it’s with the companies approach on “selling” a job. Where they fall short is with respect to their high pressure sales tactics. It’s part of their business to make in home visits and there is a certain amount of “lost business” that is to be had. Don’t offer free in home estimates then. Or here’s an idea, make your services AFFORDABLE! Don’t tell me that if I sign now that I’ll save shopping 400 dollars on an 8000 dollar job that has already been discounted from 10000 because of a spring 20% off sale. 10000 dollars for JUST an acrylic shower installed in one day by 2 guys is outrageous. 8000 dollars is not better, and trying to pressure people into committing by offering them a discount that’s only good while the salesperson is their is classic high pressure tactics. They are just like other home improvement companies that come and do a sales pitch with iPads and models of their products. I would suggest others to find an independent contractor who doesn’t have all the overhead these people do and that don’t have to advertise on TV and radio.

Fabulous. I can’t wait until I can have West Shore replace my other basement windows. They replaced two of eight windows; I’ve already noticed it is warmer in my basement. So worth the money. For quality you have to expect to pay for what you get. West Shore delivers the best quality and service. I’m a repeat customer. They installed 3 outside doors 2 years ago. I still get compliments on them, plus I am so much safer.
Description of Work: I had two basement windows installed/replaced. One was actually an old coal door. No pressure sales. On time. So willing to work with me and my schedule. Jeff Showers is great!

Feeling misled by the salesman, it obviously is not going well. Synopsis: The sales manager came to the house and said "This guy is one of our best salesmen with like a 94% close rate.", "There is no way that this particular salesmen would have said that.", "If it was one of our newer salesmen I would probably believe you but I've been out with this guy and he would not say that.", he then points out in the contract that "If you want to cancel, you'll have to pay a 35% cancellation fee." This tells me that this has happened in the past with other customers. He then followed with the "I'm not saying that you're lying but..." to which I replied "Why would I make something like this up?". When I said that there's no way possible that you could have ordered the door yet because your guy hasn't even been out here to take final measurements, he said that the door has already been ordered and I asked him to show me proof of that which he was unable to do "because he's in sales not in orders". Seems to me that if you already know what you are coming out for (which he made a point to say that it took him an hour to get to our home) this issue then you would have proof that the door had already been ordered. He stood by his salesman (which was the right thing to do from his perspective) so at that point I basically thanked him for screwing me, asked him to expedite the order and to leave. This company is expensive and make sure that you read the contract to verify that it agrees with whatever you think that you heard them say. I can guarantee that they haven't even ordered the door but they want to steal $2,700 of my money. We would have gladly paid a reasonable cancellation fee but 35% is absolutely unreasonable. We have no choice at this point but to go through with the sale. Unless this door is made of gold, I see no reason why we would do business with this company again. This is a shame because we thought that the salesman did a good job and was quite knowledgeable and the company had good reviews; but in a case of he said, she said, you will be screwed. DO NOT LET THEM talk you into ordering the same night. You may end up regretting it letter.
Description of Work: We received a bid for a new entry door. We were offered a better price if we signed a contract and paid cash for the door. The salesman told us not to worry because we had 10 days to cancel. When I called to cancel the order, the contract stated that we only had 3 days to cancel. Called West Shore to cancel order and they won't cancel the order without sending a manager to our home.

I can't recommend them enough. They're very high quality. When they installed my back door, they didn't have the right trim, so they were very conscientious about scheduling to come back to trim it right. Their doors are guaranteed for life. There was something malfunctioning about one door. No questions asked, they came back and fixed it. I actually was much more aggressive in negotiating the price because I did my homework, and I called them and said I want this done, but here's what I'm willing to pay, and they worked with me. They key item to emphasize is I told them based on my research what I was willing to pay and they figured out how to meet that price without sacrificing quality. They did it all in one day. They took out two doors. I live in a townhome community where the architectural requirements are very strict, and they were very willing to work with helping me match what the architectural committee requires. The architecture committee is very specific on trying to keep unity of similarity in terms of colors and all of that good stuff, and they were really wonderful in helping me do that. The back door off the garage included a keypad lock, so that no keys were necessary, which was a great help because my son always loses the keys. They also replaced my doors that were off the family room onto the deck that were original. They weren't very tight any more and there were all kinds of issues, so again they were phenomenal at trying to match what the association required for colors in terms of keeping the townhome community with uniform architectural requirement. They're highly professional. They will absolutely tailor your needs and work with you in terms of requirements to satisfy, whether it be the association requirements, but they also were very willing to work with me to get a product I really liked in the price range I wanted. I consulted contractors in the field to compare the pricing and they helped me have the confidence that I was not overpaying. Essentially, I have a couple people who worked in the field and I asked them for what I want, is this a reasonable price, and they said absolutely. I don't feel I overpaid, and they did all the work in one day, which is wonderful.
Description of Work: They replaced my back door off of my garage, and they also replaced the very old, original door, that was more of a regular door where you open and shut it versus sliding. It was very dysfunctional for the area. Considering the family room to which the deck abuts, it was very dysfunctional to have a door that opens and shuts, versus a sliding door, so they replaced those.

I was in the market for new windows and doors at my home. Doing my due diligence, I had three different services come out and quote the project. West Shore was the third contractor to visit. After taking measurements, the representative went into his sales pitch, which was the most high pressure pitch I've received in a long time. He spent a major part of his time speaking negatively about his competitors rather than selling his own product. It was equivalent to having a used car salesman in your own home. After writing up the first quote, and seeing that I wasn't biting, the representative started working to find other ways to modify or discount the product. The price of the job dropped $5,000 in 30 minutes. When he came to his truly final price, I was close to giving West Shore my business. However, I don't make major financial decisions lightly and said that I needed some time to think on it. The sales representative, realizing I wasn't going to sign a contract right then and there, became very rude and quickly packed up his things. In the process, he dressed me down about how I was making my decision based on the wrong factors and that I could surely find someone else to meet my needs that was of lesser quality and repute than West Shore. When I invite a sales person into my own home, I expect to be treated with some amount of courtesy and that certainly didn't happen during this visit. West Shore will not be earning my business now, or in the future. I did call and speak with the manager of the sales team about my experience and he was apologetic and friendly, which I appreciate. But, I think it's important that potential customers know of the high pressure sales pitch they are going to receive when inviting a West Shore representative into their home.

Install went well and work looks very professional. Only problem was I had stated that I would be installing a storm door myself after the front door install. They neglected to ensure the brick mold spacing was sufficient to install a standard 36" storm door. This required me to have to special order one at almost twice the cost.

The door looks nice, but would prefer different sidelights. Unhappy with sales process. After project was finished I wished I had gotten different sidelights and had I had some time to think about it, (a lot of choices and options were presented in a short time) instead of being pressured to sign the contract because pricing is only guaranteed for a day or two, I'm sure I would have gone with the other option.

Installers did a great job. It poured down rain most of the day and these guys knocked out the job in time they specified and did their job well. Unit feels much more solid than typical fiberglass. It's more spacious then the fiberglass unit it replaced, without taking up more room in our tiny bathroom. They pull out all of the old stuff, put up their own sub-wall and attached to that instead of drywall. Also replace old plumbing in that area. Salesman had "hard sell" style... "price will change when I leave" type of thing... to make you feel pressure to commit. Salesman also said he typically stops by during a job to see how it's going, we haven't heard from him since. We just wanted something simple and solid. I felt once he couldn't up-sell us on a lot of the beautiful options they have to offer, he was a little disappointed. All that said, he was professional and knowledgeable about his industry.
